Story
Current Location: Bel Air, MD Otto is pure heart. He is the kind of dog who wants nothing more than love and closeness, and he gives it back tenfold. He can be a little unsure about hardwood floors, new noises, or unfamiliar things, but gentle reassurance goes a long way. Once he feels safe, he relaxes and leans right in. He loves everyone he meets and has wonderful manners. He does great in the car, sleeps well in his crate, and has a naturally quiet, soft presence in the home. When he wants affection, he gently places his paws on you just to be closer, not demanding, just hopeful. It is impossible not to melt. Outside, he enjoys exploring the yard and happily chased after a ball, even if returning it turned into joyful zoomies instead. He walks nicely on leash and clearly enjoys being out with his person. When playtime ends, he is right back to snuggling, content to stay close. He is a flat coat retriever mix with long, flowing black fur, a quick smile, and a lolling tongue that makes his happiness easy to read. At about a year and a half old, he is the perfect mix of young spirit and gentle soul. He is an easy, loving companion who would make a truly wonderful best friend.

Story
Please contact Perry Meade (perrym@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet puppy ISO forever home!KENT NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!   Come meet Kent and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (1/4) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!     Name:  Kent       Best Guess for Breed: Flat Coat Retriever/Border Collie Mix   Best Guess for Age:  10 weeks as of 12/9/2025         SEX: Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 13 pounds as of 12/9/2025   Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations:  Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Kent is Looking For: Hiya! I'm Kent! Me and my littermates, Kenneth, Kenny, Kelvin, Kelly, Kevin, & Kem have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: Kent is completely mis-named.  If you named him for his curiosity, he could be Scout.  If you named him for the sounds he makes, he could be Squeak.  If you named him for his smarts, he could be Hugo.   But for now, he’s Kent, who is all of these qualities, plus as cute as can be with his soulful green eyes and three white paws.  Kent’s favorite thing to do is simply be around his people.  He’ll let you know that he’s disappointed when you leave.  He loves to play with his toys and has learned quickly where his bed is.  He’s learning to do his business outside, to “sit” and “come”.  As his foster, he’s not what I consider a high energy puppy.  After play-time, he settles on his bed nicely.  What a gem of a puppy who’s going to grow into a wonderful family member! Puppy Vetting Requirements:   Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.        Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:     The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life! Please visit us online at        www.luckydoganimalrescue.org       . Story
Meet Cosmo This adorable guy has the spunk and spirit of a typical pup. His mom was unfortunately run over and he had to have a little help being bottle fed until able to eat on his own. You would not know it by looking at him or in his glowing personality. Cosmo is always up for a romp during playtime. He is also one of the sweetest snugglers. Cosmo has grown to adoption age in the same wonderful household and his foster mom would love to give you all the details on his daily life. Cosmo is well socialized and would do great in a home with or without dogs and/or with or without children. If you are looking for a dedicated family companion, you can’t go wrong with this cutie. Once adopted, Cosmo will transport with Rescue Vet Transport to his new forever family (additional $185). If you would like to give him a life time of belly rubs please follow the link below to our adoption application. Please note, our volunteer team works very hard and they are very responsive so please submit your application only when you are ready to welcome your new furry friend. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
