Story
Clara is a 4 year old low key doodle looking for a calm home that will help her lose some weight and get back on a regular exercise regime to lose some weight. Her family had twins, and she has been left out of activities for the past year and is really craving some attention. She is very easy-going, requires regular grooming as any doodle does, and just loves to hang out with her people. She has not led a very social life and is used to a fenced yard. She knows how to ring bells on the door to let you know she needs to go out to go to the bathroom. She could use a patient person who can help her in the transition to a new home. contact irondawgs13@gmail.com for adoption application.

Story
Pepper is a beautiful happy pup that showed up at an apartment complex as a youngster. She has been passed around from apartment to apartment but grew into a 60 pound dog that still needs to do more filling out. The person who keeps her asked Rescue to find her a bigger home with a yard and more exercise than what she was getting out of the small apartments. She is a high energy girl with a lot of fancy moves and does very well on a leash. She could use a little more training, but her breed mix is extremely smart and she would learn very very fast. She would make an excellent running or hiking partner, and do fabulous with agility or obstacle courses. She is very social and loves everybody. She meets and currently lives with some cats. She is crate trained, and has very good house manners and is an excellent dog that will make her new family extremely happy. contact irondawgs13@gmail.com for adoption application

Story
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Good boy looking for his forever home! GP NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet GP and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (6/14) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Rockville, MD (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)!   Name:   GP      Best Guess for Breed:    Flat Coat Retriever mix   Best Guess for Age:    5 years as of May 2026      SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:    49 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs!  We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:    DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations: GP is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!   GP is Looking For:     GP is has a gorgeous long dark coat and a gentle expression that instantly draws you in. This sweet boy recently found himself in need of a new home after his previous owner became too sick to care for him anymore. While the transition has been a big change, GP is ready for a fresh start with a family to call his own. He’s hoping to find a home where he can settle in, enjoy life at a comfortable pace, and share plenty of love and loyalty with his new people. After losing the only home he knew, GP deserves a second chance with a family who will cherish him through all of life’s adventures — big and small. Could you be the one to give this beautiful boy the happy new chapter he’s been waiting for? What My South Carolina Foster Says About Me:     He is absolutely without a doubt the most considerate house guest that I have EVER had. He has impeccable manners, and gives the best hugs. He gets along well with other dogs ( I have 7). His favorite things are #1 a bed (not a dog bed, your bed) and #2 being outside. He's food motivated so it's easy to teach him anything really. He quickly learned that seeing a medicine bottle meant he was getting a treat and he gets really excited when he sees them. He is a very considerate bed partner but he needs to be touching his human and sometimes you have to literally make him get out of bed to go outside in the morning. He hasn't made a single mistake in my house. (Not one single mistake!) Like I said, he's been the most considerate house guest ever. He has no desire to guard anything, in fact he will happily hang back and let the other dogs go first. He doesn't want any trouble and he isn't interested in being in charge. He does also really enjoy puzzles(he has a fantastic nose and likes using it) and the occasional toy- while he lounges in the bed of course. He does absolutely know what the word 'kennel' means and will go inside if asked. OH! I almost forgot...we went to an event and there were 3 pre-teen girls there. He acted like he had known them his whole life, practically climbed in their laps for love and had the biggest smile. He's a heartbreaker.         Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Chelsea – The Dog Who Will Choose You Chelsea has been waiting. She came to us as a military boarder, and when it was time to go home—no one came back for her. Communication stopped. Payments stopped. And since May 2025, Chelsea has been here, quietly waiting for someone who will actually show up for her. And here’s the part people miss— she’s still a really good dog. What Chelsea Is Really Like Chelsea is calm, observant, and thoughtful. She doesn’t throw herself at strangers or demand attention—but that’s not a flaw. That’s what makes her different. Because when Chelsea trusts you… everything changes. She becomes: Playful Affectionate Cuddly Completely connected to her person She doesn’t give that to everyone. She gives it to her person. The Right Home for Chelsea Chelsea needs: A calm, lower-traffic home No children Someone who respects that trust takes time A person who wants a real bond—not just a dog that loves everyone She is neutral in public, manageable, and has made real progress with structure and guidance at K9netic Pack. She knows how to exist in the world—she just needs someone to give her a place in it. What You’re Getting You’re not getting chaos. You’re not getting a project. You’re getting a dog who: Bonds deeply Loves hard once she trusts Settles into your life Becomes yours Final Thoughts Chelsea has been overlooked because she doesn’t perform for strangers. But the right person is going to see her—and realize she’s exactly what they’ve been looking for. She’s not for everyone. She’s for someone who wants something real. And when she chooses you, you’ll understand why she was worth the wait. 📍 Located in Poolesville, MD 📚 Adoption includes support through K9netic Pack Apply to adopt Chelsea: www.underdogdivision.org
