Story
Current Location: York, PA Meet Arkansas! At just 8 months old, Arkansas is the total package. This handsome young pup has an easygoing personality that surprises everyone who meets him. Calm, affectionate, and always happy to be with his people, he is the kind of dog who fits naturally into family life. Arkansas is a true love bug. He greets everyone like an old friend and has never met a belly rub he didn't like. If you stop to say hello, don't be surprised if he rolls right over and politely requests a few scratches before continuing on his way. He is a wonderful companion whether you're heading out for an adventure or enjoying a quiet evening at home. Arkansas rides beautifully in the car, walks nicely on leash, is house trained, and sleeps comfortably in his crate. He enjoys being close to his people and is happiest simply spending time together. Although he still has all the fun and curiosity of a young dog, Arkansas has a gentle, relaxed nature that makes him easy to live with. He is eager to please, affectionate, and always ready to share his big heart. Arkansas is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and current on all preventatives. He is ready to pack his bags and begin the next chapter with a family who will love him as much as he will love them. If you have been searching for a loyal best friend with a sweet soul and an even sweeter smile, Arkansas is waiting to meet you.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/nolan/ Nobody knows love, nose rubs, affection and nonstop fun like Nolan. Never in your wildest dreams will you come across a never-ending bundle of happiness and kindness like Nolan. I am a dog of many nodes of joy. I prefer to be very active, as my energy knows no bounds. Long walks, big yards, non-stop tug of war are the things that I smile most for. Leash walking is no problem for me, but like my hound dog roots I prefer to set the pace and direction. Calm and quiet are my preferred settings so I would do best in a home nuzzled in a quiet neighborhood or on a serene block. A few Nolan "no-no's are other pets or children. I need to be in a house with an experienced owner who can give me their undivided attention. I do have a strong startle reflex so I should not be allowed on the furniture with you. I would like my own bed to the side where I am safe and sound. Take the time to get to know me, be patient with me as we warm up to each other, and I will show you a dog who will never leave your side and who will always be there for you. Nolan is sponsored by Carolyn Landry: Stacey Gimbert - Thank you for all you do for those who can't help themselves. You are blessing to them and to me. Story
Teddy is an energetic, sweet, young boy with the happiest of dispositions. This beautiful, mild-mannered southern hound is from North Carolina. Instantly willing to meet people and never aggressive, he quickly opens up and revels in attention from both adults and children. Teddy is an active boy who loves his walks outside, sniffing his way along trails in the forest, and walking through streams. That said, he also enjoys lounging in the sun and curling up on his favorite sofa. Teddy barks at times, most often when he spots a deer, or a dog next to him barks and he feels like he has to join in. Teddy has lived with cats and dogs, and very much enjoys meeting and hanging out with other pets. He is affectionate to his people, and will give kisses. He is eager to learn and is very food motivated. He is a smartie too, and has learned to wait at the door to go out and for his meals. He does fine in a crate, politely waiting for his humans to get him in the morning or when they return home from running errands. He is an excellent traveler who loves to jump in the car and go for a ride. Teddy would do well in a home with a nearby outdoor space for him to move around. A fenced yard would be a plus. He is good on leash walks, but can be an impatient puller at times, too. If you're looking for a great K9 companion, walking or running buddy, Teddy is your boy. He is about 2 years old, about 45 pounds, house-trained, vaccinated, and neutered. He would love to be your best friend, greet you at the door, take adventures together, and curl up on the couch and snuggle with you afterwards. Teddy is just a sweet dog that deserves to have a great life. All he needs is a loving home to start his journey. Teddy came from a shelter in North Carolina where he was a hit. He is currently being fostered in Columbia, Maryland. Reach out to learn more about Teddy and what he can add to your home.   ##2820899##

Story
Danya is a gorgeous foxhound with beautiful eyes and a sweet and playful personality.  She is 2 year old, about 40 pounds, and good with cats and dogs.   Danya can be quite a silly girl, and very independent, too.  Danya's ideal home would provide her exercise, preferably in the great outdoors.  She is very food-driven, so you can get her to do most anything once she realizes you are a source of treats.   A fenced yard would be a plus, but her true love is nature and going for walks, where she cant wait to meet new people and dogs, splash in the stream, and search for deer or fox.  She walks fairly well on a leash, but will pull if she sees or smells a deer or fox -- true to her breed. She enjoys getting in the car and traveling with her humans wherever they go.  Danya would love to be your best friend, greet you at the door, take adventures together, and curl up on the couch afterwards.  She enjoys being petted on her head and chin.  So if you're looking for a sweet energetic K9 companion for walking, Danya is your girl.  Danya is caming from a shelter in North Carolina and she is sweet as can be. She has a great personality and great with  dogs and cats with no issues. She is currently in NC and will be arriving on August 1. She will be fostered in a loving home in Maryland. Story
Meet Citrine! Hobbies include: staring at the ground waiting for little critters, hiking, curling up in a good spot, eating (kindred spirit here), and being loved on. At 55 lbs, she is the "Goldilocks" size—sturdy enough for a hike, but perfectly shaped for a snuggle. House Training Pro: She is 100% house-trained and takes great pride in her good manners. The Neighborhood Explorer: She absolutely loves her daily walks. She enjoys taking in all the sniffs the neighborhood has to offer.  She needs a yard and likes to explore. Crate Optional: She is crate trained and uses it like a pro, but honestly? She’s so trustworthy she doesn’t even need it. Professional Lounger: Whether it’s the sofa, a plush dog bed, or just a sunny spot on the rug, She is a world-class napper. She’s just happy to be where you are. The Ideal Home: Citrine is looking for a friend, a person, or a family to spend her life with. Inside the house, she has a gentle, low-key energy with a silly side that makes her a great companion for just about anyone (sorry, she's just not into fetch. You can't expect her to be perfect, can you?) She loves the companionship of other dogs but is happy solo as well. She has done excellent with a prior foster's 2 rambunctious children and is not phased at all by their energy! She has shown no signs of resource guarding or aggression. Whether it's a quiet house or a chaotic one, Citrine is a gem! Preferably, her adopter will be familiar with foxhound traits. In particular, hunting instincts and bawling. Patience for continued leash training is recommended. Must be leashed when outside. Don't sleep on her, sign up to meet her and see for yourself! Adoption Day:  September 5th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt.
