Story
Louie is a sweet and energetic German Shepard/Saint Bernard mix. He loves affection and to go for runs. He will need a family that has a large fenced in yard or farm. His family will need to be active as a simple walk once or twice a day will not be good night for him. He needs physical and mental stimulation as he has a lot of energy. He loves kids but would be better with a family that has older kids due to him being a wiggle butt and not realizing his size. He is 2 years old and about 75-80 lbs. I am in the process of getting him neutered prior to his adoption. Other than that he is in perfect health and updated on shots. He can be shy at first but warms up to people fast. He has done well with other large friendly dogs but has not been around smaller dogs. He does shed a lot so be prepared to sweep every day. All applicants must provide proof of outdoor area where he will play. The rehoming fee is negotiable.

Nova is an 8 year old female who weighs 61 lbs.  She was picked up by animal control with another dog and neither were claimed despite being microchipped.  Nova is friendly and easy going, take treats gently, and knows basic commands.  She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home but may need a slow intro with other animals.  Please email rescueblackdogs@yahoo.com to apply to adopt. Story
Meet Captain Iceberg, the adorable 5-year-old German Shepherd who steals hearts wherever he goes. With his striking looks and charming personality, Captain Iceberg is more than just a dog; he's a beloved member of the shelter. Despite his regal appearance, Captain Iceberg is anything but serious. This handsome fellow has a silly side that often comes out in his playful antics. He's known for getting the zoomies, racing around with boundless energy and enthusiasm, and bunny hopping around the yard with sheer delight. One of Captain Iceberg's favorite pastimes is receiving scratches and belly rubs from his adoring fans. His sweet nature and love for affection make him irresistible to anyone lucky enough to meet him. And when it comes to grooming time, Captain Iceberg is more than happy to sit still for a brushing session, reveling in the attention. But don't let his fluffy exterior fool you; Captain Iceberg is also a skilled companion when it comes to basic commands. He's quick to learn and eager to please, making him a joy to train and be around. Plus, his clumsiness only adds to his charm, as he bumbles about with endearing grace. It's no surprise that Captain Iceberg is a staff favorite at the shelter. His playful nature and loving demeanor make him a hit here. He truly is the best dog anyone could ask for-adorable, sweet, goofy, and utterly amazing.

Introducing Ruby, the magnificent German Shepherd with a heart of gold! At 7 years old, Ruby exudes grace, intelligence, and an abundance of sweetness that captures the hearts of all who meet her. Ruby is not just your average dog; she's a true gem. With her striking appearance and elegant demeanor, she commands attention wherever she goes. But it's her loving personality that truly sets her apart. Ruby is a sweetheart through and through, always eager to shower her humans with affection and loyalty. One of Ruby's standout qualities is her impeccable leash manners. Whether she's trotting alongside her favorite human on a leisurely stroll or demonstrating her impressive obedience skills, Ruby is a joy to walk with. While Ruby adores people, she prefers to be the only furry friend in the household. She thrives in a loving home where she can soak up all the attention and affection for herself. Ruby is incredibly friendly and well-behaved around both familiar faces and newcomers alike. One of Ruby's many talents is her extensive repertoire of tricks. From simple commands like sit and stay and more! Her quick wit and sharp mind make training sessions a breeze, and her enthusiasm for learning knows no bounds. In every way, Ruby embodies the epitome of a perfect canine companion: loyal, loving, and endlessly charming. With her by your side, every day is filled with joy, laughter, and an abundance of love.

Please contact the foster directly at 856-275-6905 (call or text) or via email at Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com&#226&#128&#139 Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 April 23, 2024, 10:14 am
