Story
Heidi is a 2 year old NOT SPAYED female German Shepherd. She cannot be in a home with other dogs as she is showing aggression towards the other dog in the home. She is 80lbs and I just cannot manage her, I cannot afford behavioral help and I do not want to euthanize her. Please have some grace, I am trying to find her a good home bevause I recognize I cannot create a safe, comfortable home for her. She is okay with cats-- gives some chase but can be redirected. She is NOT good with female dogs. I do not know how she is with male dogs. She is up to date on rabies. She is good with adults, I do not know how she is with children. I would recommend her go to a family where she is the only dog. She is very loving, very sweet, very goofy. She is house trained and walks on a leash okay. **Has an allergy to chicken. Food for transitioning will be supplied.**

Story
Rex is a resilient, affectionate boy with a heart as big as his incredible spirit 💛🐾 Born with congenital megaesophagus, Rex has learned that a little extra care just means a little extra love. He needs to be fed upright in a Bailey chair so his meals can safely reach his stomach — and he handles his special routine like an absolute champ. He thrives on a high-quality, nutrient-dense diet (currently The Farmer’s Dog), which has been working wonderfully for him. Rex will need lifelong management, including his upright feeding routine, possible medications, and regular veterinary checkups to help him feel his very best. While megaesophagus can shorten a dog’s lifespan, Rex refuses to let it define him or dull his joy. He greets each day with enthusiasm, a wagging tail, and an eagerness to be close to his people. He is a loving, social sweetheart who adores attention, companionship, and being part of the action. Rex is looking for a dedicated, compassionate adopter who can continue his care and give him the warm, supportive home he truly deserves. In return, he’ll give you unwavering love, resilience that inspires, and a bond that is nothing short of extraordinary. - Around 3 years 2 months old - Currently 71lbs - Adoption fee: $175 This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Story
El is a really great dog with a sweet, loyal personality. She can be a little unsure around new people at first and just needs some time and patience to feel comfortable. Once she warms up, she’s wonderful to be around and very affectionate. She walks nicely both on and off leash and has good manners. El currently lives with three cats and another dog and does well in a multi-pet household.

Story
Max was rescued at 1-1/2 (now 7years old). His owners were elderly and lived in a motor home. They could no longer take care of him. He was adopted by my daughter and 12 year old grandson. They also have a shiatsu and a Lhasa apso mix. Max fit right into the family. My daughter lost her home and she and her now 19-year-old son moved in with me (her mother). This was a temporary solution. The three dogs were included in this move. My daughter now has new housing which allows only 2 dogs and no large dogs. My grandson has moved in with friends and cannot bring Max. I promised to keep him until we found a good home for him. Max is a good dog and responds to some directions. He appears to be a very smart dog and is friendly once he becomes comfortable with strangers. This usually takes 10 minutes if you don't expect too much of him. He has never bitten any one while in our care. He is very protective and lets people know it with a growl. He needs someone who is active.

Story
Hello! My name is Boone! Are you looking for a sports dog? I am your guy! I am a highly driven, smart dog looking for jobs to do to prove myself. My energy can be quite a lot, as I am a young dog who has previously lacked structure and commitment. But I am showing fantastic improvements with managing my excitement, and I hope to show you my best side if you meet me. I would prefer a home without other animals and children under 12 due to my sensitive nature. I have TONS of love to give and I would have even more dedication to offer to you as your partner in crime. Could we start the next chapter of our lives together? Come hang out with me soon!

Story
Hazel Grace is the best; she knows you already love her! How could you not, with that goofy grin? While the world is a classroom, she`d love to take some real dog training classes. Hazel Grace is a quick learner, and with the help of some yummy treats, will soon make you proud with her excellent manners. She`ll need to meet any potential dog siblings before adoption to make sure they`re a match made in heaven. Hazel Grace would do best in a home without young children so she can be your main focus. Leave all the unrequited love stories behind - it`s time for unconditional love starring Hazel Grace!
