Story
Once you meet Hobo, there is ABSOLUTELY no doubt who the "good boy" is. Meeting this guy is like meeting your long lost best friend, where you feel so comfortable in their presence. He is a bigger guy with some strength, so savvy owners willing to help this guy get better manners would be ideal. He should go to a home without other animals and a fenced yard to safely run in. Older respectful children who are accustomed to larger dogs would be amazing. With a bit of structure Hobo is going to add so much happiness to a household.

Story
Hard to imagine that this beautiful girl wound up in our care. As far as looks, she could enter "Miss Canada" and her ears alone would bring home the crown! She has very little in terms of manners. She is so receptive to trying to please you, so her silly behaviours will be a thing of the past with a bit of structure and consistency. Her new home will have active owners, who are committed to training, a dog savvy cat is good as well. As for the children in the home, we would prefer that they be over the age of 12, as she is nervous of the younger ones. She can be selective with certain dogs but she seems to enjoy friendly male dogs. This beauty queen is going to bring her new family lots of joy!*Ayla has a food allergy and may need to be on medication for the rest of her life, please call the shelter at 9056820767 if you have any questions about her*

Story
Name: Griffin Breed: GSD Age/Sex: 10/7/2017/MN Known health issues: Seasonal Allergies, Addisons Disease Good with: Most dogs NO CATS. NO KIDS. NO DOG PARKS. Adult only home. Bite history: Yes Griffin is one of the biggest goofballs to come through Inugoya. He is definitely the class clown, and enjoys making you laugh! He is confident, sassy, and opinionated, but also incredibly sweet, endearing, and affectionate. Griffin is not an easy dog; he has behavioural management needs, anxiety issues, and has been recently diagnosed with Addisons Disease (Feb 2024). But none of this stops his zest for life! Even with his challenges, he is one of my absolute favourites, and a dog that I can always rely on. He is very environmentally confident, and easy to take everywhere. Once you have his trust and bond, his eyes are solely for you. Griffin is a very active boy, and loves to go on adventures. Hiking, swimming, running; he's your guy! He's dabbled in agility and lure coursing, and enjoys a game of fetch. He does get easily bored, and likes to keep things changed up and interesting. Griffin is a very vocal guy, and will tell you stories for days. He has excellent manners, lots of basic obedience skills under his belt, and is good for the vet and groomer. He is muzzle trained for times when needed. He is not oversized, and a perfect travel buddy. He can be picky with some dogs, but gets along with most of the foster crew here, both male and female. He however isn't looking for a doggie social circle, he wants to be with his person, and would be absolutely fine solo. Griffin is one of our longest rescue residents. He arrived Feb 2020, and has been waiting for his forever family to find him, ever since. He is a boy with extra challenges, but he is the most amazing, devoted soul. If you are Shepherd experienced, and are looking for a truly special guy, please consider Griffin ❤️ ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Name: Atlas Breed: German Shepherd Dog Sex/DOB: MN 2/22/22 Known Health Issues: None at this time. Good With: Confident, calm dogs. Patient Teenagers, that can actively participate in his training, may be okay. Dog savvy cats and 110% commitment to training if he is to live with cats. He is very determined in his play. NO DOG PARKS. Atlas is a young dog that arrived with a broken soul. He was absolutely terrified of everything, and was extremely shut down. He is relearning everything from scratch, and though he is a large, adolescent puppy, his mentality and experience have him much younger in development. Atlas is really starting to come into his own, and I am excited for him to discover who he really is. He LOVES water and is already swimming and retrieving like a champ! He is very high energy, loves to run and chase, and is gaining his environmental confidence everyday. He is a LOT of dog, and it's all starting to burst out! He is toy and praise motivated, with moderate food drive. I expect him to increase in his demand and desire to work, as he continues to gain confidence in the world. Atlas was initially terrified of other dogs. He now enjoys their company, and is learning to play appropriately. He is a bit of a bully, and will pick on soft dogs. He has an energy that not everyone enjoys. He does benefit from having a canine companion, BUT it has to be the right match. I am hesitant to place with cats, as he is very forward and I do not want to see any injuries occur. With the right home, and level of training, it may be possible. Due to his discomfort with new people, his successful adopters must be willing to meet him several times, before he will be potentially ready to leave. Patience, and time are key. He has made great strides, but change will be hard for him if that bond isn't there. I do not want to see him regress. His successful home must be committed to continuing his confidence building, and expanding his world and activities so that he can be his absolute best! Atlas is fantastic in his crate, and good in the house. He is learning about the leash, and getting more confident on car rides. He is VERY loud when he wants to be and is not a dog that would handle living in a busy city. He will need a home that has a safe, securely fenced area. He is learning about grooming, and getting better with nail trims. Patience is key! Atlas is absolutely FULL of potential, and I can see him doing well in a wide variety of sport activities as he continues to gain confidence. If you're up for the challenge, and Atlas has caught your eye, please message for an application to start the process! ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Storm Breed: GSD Sex/DOB: F 10/26/19 (Spay booked April 29th) Known Health Issues: None at this time Good With: Dogs. Cats possibly okay with training. Patient and calm persons, who respect boundaries. No kids. Patient, dog savvy teens will be considered. NO DOG PARKS. Storm is now accepting applications! Storm is not an easy girl, and is looking for a very specific home. She has spent a significant amount of time at the rescue working on basic life skills that come easily to most dogs. She has made several breakthroughs in the past few months, and I am now comfortable to start more formally searching for her forever home. Storm is a very soft dog, and needs a lot of time, space, and patience. What she doesn't need is coddling, and someone to trap her in her past. Her successful adopter must be dedicated to continuing to work with her, expanding her world slowly, but consistently, and giving her life skills to build upon. If your first instinct is to feel sorry for her, she is not the dog for you. Storm absolutely thrives with other dogs, so much so, that it is a requirement to have another dog to adopt her. She will look to them for guidance, confidence, and direction. She gets along with most other dogs, with some selectivity with certain females. Care must be taken, to make sure she is still worked independently of the other dog, to prevent separation anxiety, and littermate syndrome issues. Storm loves the outdoors! Once she is comfortable in a space, she shines. She runs, and plays, and leaps for joy! Due to her personality, she is a significant flight risk initially, and needs a secure, fully fenced backyard to access. She will happily spend her days out in the yard, especially if you are out with her. Storm is incredibly goofy, and loves to make you laugh. Her favourite item is her food dish, and she can often be found carrying around, or just laying and holding it! Sturdy dishes recommended! She has the warmest personality, which she reserves for her special person. She's not looking to have a large social circle, so a quiet home, without many visitors suits her best. She wants to be your one and only. Storm would love to dabble in some backyard sport activities to help her confidence grow. With enough time and patience, she may even do well at events, but time will tell. She is toy motivated, and loves to retrieve. If she sees another dog performing a task and getting rewarded, she is very quick to imitate! Her food drive is low, but could built. She'd rather work for your praise! If you think you have the time, pateince, and dedication for my special girl, please send in an application. She will require several meets, before she would be ready to potentially move out. Story
Name: Winterberry DOB/Sex: March 18, 2019/FS Breed: German Shepherd Dog x Border Collie as per first O Known Health Issues: Broken lower incisor. Dental will be completed by rescue. Good with: Kids! Medium - Large Dogs! Cats! NO DOG PARKS Winterberry is an absolutely wonderful young lady, looking to find her true forever home. She's had a bit of bad luck in her short years, but that luck is about to change! Winterberry is as sweet as they come, she's never met a human she doesn't love! She's social, outgoing, and loves to engage. If you pick up a ball, she's your instant new best friend! And the stories she'll tell you, oh the stories! She definitely has character ;) She has excellent ball and toy drive, strong food drive, and prey drive. She has an affinity to water, and though it's the wrong season, I can't keep her from dipping in her toes! I suspect dock diving will be right up her alley, and she has the versatility to enjoy a wide variety of canine activities; agility, lure coursing, Rally-O, maybe even flyball! She's game to try them all! Winterberry is currently in a foster home, and her love for cats has been reaffirmed! With proper structure and intros, she is 100% fine to live with cats. She is dog social with proper intros, but does have a penchant for small dogs on leash. She has had two previous incidences grabbing a small dog while on leash so it's very important her new home continues with her training, to keep everyone safe. She is doing fantastic working on her impulses in this regard but it is something that will always need to be managed. Winterberry is an absolute gem, and with her very sweet personality, she's sure to win your heart! Please message to start the application process, if she sounds like the dream girl missing from your life! Recent notes from her foster mom!: "Fostering Winterberry has been the most incredible, fun, heart-filling adventure. The quickest thing we found out on day 1 is how easy she has been in our home. She is honestly one of the most solid, level-headed dogs I have met. She loves her people (well, every person she basically meets, adult and child alike), she has been amazing with our two dogs; being able to switch from rough-and-tumble with our younger dog, to being very respectful and gentle with our older dog. Ball, stick, or toy, she will love you forever after the first throw. And although she has trouble remembering to drop it close to you, she doesn’t guard or refuse you if you want it again (we are working on the “drop” command on cue). Treat and food motivated for sure! And let us not forget her love for all things water! Ponds, pools, lakes! She would never pass up a chance to take a dip! And we can always count on her to tell us all the stories when we get home from being away for the day, or even when we greet her in the morning. What we have found that is one (out of her many) amazing qualities is that she has such a great off-switch. She can go from running for a ball for hours to playing with her four-legged friends, to snuggling up on a dog bed or in her crate. She has been doing really well with her interactions with other dogs and we have never had an incident that couldn’t be easily corrected or distracted from. With proper dog introductions, she gets along with almost every dog. We haven’t seen/had the opportunity yet to see if she is better/same with small dogs close-up, but walking past hasn’t provoked a response yet. The newest things we have introduced her to are rollerblading and the e-collar. We have taken her rollerblading on roads as well as on paved trails with minimal distractions and she’s done great! We will be introducing her to busier paths with the rollerblades soon but for now we are just letting her get the feel of being able to run full tilt but controlled. E-collar training is very new but so far she has done really well. Again, we will be working on growing this training with her and wish for her new forever family to do the same. She is such a loveable, quirky, adorable, beautiful soul that anyone would be so lucky to have her become part of their family.” ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded.
