Story
Sabrina is a great dog looking for a semi-active home - she is a mix of German Shepherd and Greyhound, so while she isnt hyper she is very athletic - she would love a home where she could go running, hiking, or be active in a large fenced yard. Sabrina gets along well with large-breed male dogs with proper introduction. She is great with people, very friendly and good with kids. She is well mannered and obedient, though she is a large dog and can be strong on the leash. Sabrina is housebroken and well mannered in the house and car.

Story
Luna Mia has a sad story. She was first rescued as a puppy from a farm where she was living by herself in a chicken coop. The farmer planned on breeding her once she was old enough. She was frightened and not socialized. She came to this rescue very nervous and frightened of everything. She learned to trust people here, and was adopted by wonderful people who named her Mia. Sadly after several months her owner passed away unexpectedly, Mia was with her when that happened. She was traumatized and confused. The owner's husband could not keep her and returned her to the rescue. Luna-Mia got re-aquainted with the kennel and the caretakers/volunteers here. She is happy here but would love her own home again. Luna-Mia is housebroken, well mannered, and a wonderful dog once she learns to trust a new person. Until she does trust someone new, she shows "fear aggression" though she has become better about getting to know new people, and sometimes she warms up to a new person very quickly. Luna-Mia is looking for that perfect home for her. She should have a secure fenced yard for safety since she is a fearful dog. No children. and she would prefer to be the only pet. Luna-Mia will make someone very happy, she is a wonderful dog for someone who can give her a little time to adjust to her new home.

Story
Ruger was rescued from a shelter - He is a handsome purebred German Shepherd who appears to be from working lines. He is @ 2 years old, neutered male. Ruger came into the rescue very fearful and he is still nervous with strangers approaching him - however once he warms up to someone he is very friendly and good natured. He is very well mannered on his walks, and does very well ignoring strangers and other dogs. In general he will prefer to be the only pet, but he does go out in the yard with other large dogs (males and females) who are dog friendly and he does very well. If there is another dog in the house though he would do best with a large-breed female who is good with other dogs. Ruger is not good with cats or small animals, or livestock. Due to his temperament and size, children in the home should be over 12. Ruger loves long walks, playing ball and car rides. Ruger will be a wonderful active companion for the right person who has experience with German Shepherds.

Story
Buddy came from a kill shelter, very frightened and reactive. He never bit anyone, but he can be reactive when he is frightened. He was also very dog aggressive/reactive toward other dogs. He has adjusted to being at the kennel and is now much more comfortable being handled, he loves going for long walks and loves going out to the field and playing ball. He loves toys and eating and riding in the car. He is well mannered but needs an experienced person because he can get excited and reactive. He has been successfully acclimated with some other dogs and now goes into the play yard with a couple select dogs he gets along with well. However Buddy would prefer to be the only pet in the home. He is a handsome, athletic dog who will be a wonderful active companion for a person experienced with high-energy large dogs.
