Story
🐾 Meet Froot Loop Frootloop is the biggest of her litter—but also the most gentle and tender-hearted. Shy, sweet, and incredibly affectionate, she’s a quiet soul who prefers to follow the lead rather than take charge. Her silly side shines through with her signature look—her tongue often peeks out even when her mouth is closed, adding to her undeniable charm. Frootloop has a meek and mild disposition and thrives on calm, loving environments. She does wonderfully with other dogs and would truly blossom in a home with a confident canine companion to help guide her and build her confidence. She hasn’t been fully tested with cats, but her curiosity is mild, and with a cat who can set boundaries, she would likely learn quickly. This girl is a world-class snuggle bug who wants nothing more than to stay close to her people. She would do best in a gentle, quiet home where she can feel safe, loved, and secure. While she hasn’t been tested with children, respectful kids would likely be just fine with her soft, loving nature. Fruit Loop recently did excellent interacting with one of the resident horses in her foster home. She has a calm nature and the horse allowed her to lick his face. If you’re searching for a sweet, soulful companion who will melt into your arms and your heart, Froot Loop is ready to find her forever home. * Calm and gentle temperament * Playful with other puppies * Shy at first but very loving * Great snuggler * Adorable tongue-out smile _____________ Ready to adopt? Start by filling out our online application (copy and paste the following link) https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DIX/Dog. Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone or email. A Petfinder Inquiry is not the same as an application - COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a generated confirmation email. DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY READY TO ADOPT. All of our animals are rescued and transported from South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them once adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved. WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks. We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019. ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible. *** We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 12/30/25 Still available! 11/14/25 Roxy, 18 to 24 months old, 50 lbs, vetted, spayed, monthly flea prevention and 12 month heartworm prevention. We do not know her breed, she is likely very mixed. This site makes us pick a breed, so we went with Kelpie mix bc that’s what my phone guessed she was! Roxy is a work in progress. She was found living in the woods, emaciated and covered in fleas and ticks. For the first few weeks, she was completely withdrawn. She had no interest in playing and didn't speak or bark. Roxy loves to play now and talks alot( I don't always know what she is saying, but I always answer her). Learning to leash walks and potty training are works in progress. Her past has caused food aggression ( she eats in her crate) and mild separation anxiety ( after a couple of hours in her crate, she wants out to be with people). Roxy's ideal home is a large yard for her to run and a patient devoted parent dedicated to helping her overcome her past and live a happy life. Roxy is located in Arkansas and can be adopted locally, or she can transport to the New England area if adopted there. If adopted in New England, her adopter will need to pick her up (or arrange for a trusted friend/family to pick him up) on a Saturday in PA, NY, or CT. Residents of other states may adopt as well, as long as they can meet our transporter along their route. To apply to adopt, click the link. https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 For questions or more info, email apps.aasr@gmail.com Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. She’s got the smarts to match her stunning looks and knows commands like “crate/home,” “sit,” “down,” “come here,” and “outside.” She’s housebroken, crate trained, and has never had an accident indoors. This girl LOVES her people and thrives on affection—fetch, cuddles, belly rubs, and bedtime snuggles are her love languages. She’s also a certified blanket hog and believes every bed should be shared (with her in the middle, of course).Crosby does great with kids and other dogs and loves to socialize at the park. She enjoys bath time, walks like a dream, and is super easy to groom. She loves to swim!Crosby must have a few stuffed animals at all times (it’s non-negotiable), and she’ll happily entertain herself with a toy or deer antler when crated. She’s truly looking for a family that will shower her with attention and include her in all the fun.

Story
Rammy has stolen the hearts of many volunteers. He is a sweet pup looking for love and companionship. He loves humans but is also a very shy boy. Rammy is great on a leash and thinks of his kennel as a safe place. You will occasionally find him checking in with his safe place and then coming back out, to be near his favorite human. He is a bit of a shadow and will never be too far from his family. Rammy’s perfect home would be a quiet one without a lot of people coming and going. If it gets too busy for him, he will quietly retreat to his kennel. He enjoys bully sticks and cow ears. He enjoys being home and taking short walks. He is good with other dogs and enjoys playing with his other four legged friends. He is currently working on potty training. Rammy weighs 55 lbs and estimated to be around 3 yrs old. You won’t find a better buddy than him… and oh those ears! Just the sweetest boy ever!

Story
Meet Tommy: The Gentle Soul with a Playful HeartTommy is a sweet and sensitive Shepherd-Husky mix with a heart full of love—he just takes a little time to share it. This shy boy may be reserved with new people, especially men, but don’t let that fool you—once you’ve earned his trust (especially if you come bearing treats), he’ll be your most loyal companion. He’s especially fond of women and warms up to them more quickly, but with patience, kindness, and snacks, he opens up beautifully to anyone willing to go at his pace.Dog-friendly and submissive, Tommy thrives in the company of other dogs. Playing with canine friends is his absolute favorite thing in the world, and he shines in a pack. Whether it’s a good game of chase, romping around the yard, or simply lounging with a buddy, he’s happiest when he has dog friends around. He’s also a playful pup on his own—give him a bone to chew or a ball to chase, and he’s content. Car rides? He’s all in. Food? Definitely the way to his heart. If you’re looking for a quiet, loving companion who just needs a little extra time to blossom, Tommy might be the perfect match. With love, patience, and a doggy pal or two, he’ll reward you with a bond that’s truly special.
