Story
Zoey is a great dog and a real sweetheart. She's the smartest dog I've ever been around. She’s great with dogs and came from a home with young kids. She loves to engage and learn things, playing tug-o-war and fetch are her favorites. Her parents are retired police dogs that met at their retirement foster care. True to her breed, she is not great in the crate for long periods of time. She goes in no problem but is not happy in there for more than a couple hours. She needs a loving home that can allow her to not be crated for long periods. She does great in the house, I usually leave her out without any issues, but being left alone for more than a few hours we can tell she isn't happy. We are near Gettysburg PA and would be happy to travel a bit if needed to help find her a good home.

Meet this handsome 3-year-old German Shepherd who came to us as a stray, so his past is a bit of a mystery—but one thing is clear: he’s full of personality and ready to find a home of his own! This boy is friendly, alert, and loves being around people. True to his Shepherd nature, he’s smart, attentive, and enjoys getting out for walks and exploring his surroundings. He’s the kind of dog who forms strong bonds with his people and will happily be your loyal companion. He would do best with an adopter who understands the German Shepherd breed and can provide the structure, activity, and enrichment he thrives on. With the right home, he has all the potential to become an amazing best friend. If you’re looking for a smart, loyal companion with a big personality, come meet this handsome guy and see if he’s the missing piece to your family.Experienced shepard adopters only. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Edward is a full on, breathtakingly beautiful dog. A real show stopper! His gorgeous coat just shimmers in the sun. Not just a beauty king, he makes it even better with his extra sweet temperament. He is a very friendly, good dog. Perfect for a very best friend and family dog. When he has met other dogs, he has wanted to play and has been very good with all he has met. He is still young, so he is the perfect age for you to teach him everything you want him to know. You can see from his expression in his picture that his eyes shine with intelligence, so the learning should be fun for both of you. He should have many, many years to love you with all his heart. Edward has been completely vet checked and declared 'perfect' in addition to having all his shots. Ready to play with your new family member? Come see Edward!   If you are interested in Edward, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 27, 2026, 6:13 pm

Story
We are the second home of this 2 1/2 year old Female German Shepherd. She needs a job constantly. She wants to please but has a lot of anxiety. We have a 16 month old, 3 cats and another male German Shepherd - she attacks the cats and our male German Shepherd. Needs to be in a home with no dogs or cats - she is ok with our male but sometimes a switch flips. We hate to do this but we feel we are doing a disservice to her and want her to live a fulfilled life without being cooped up.

Story
Hades is a sweetheart that honestly deserves better than we can currently provide him. He is intelligent and energetic and would do best in an environment that allows him to explore and play more than ours allows. We got him in May and have had a myriad of life changes in that time including new jobs and schedules as well as an upcoming baby. I used to work 10 minutes from home and could visit every few hours but now am working an hour from home. With how busy our lives became it has been challenging to give him the attention and love he deserves. He has never been aggressive towards anyone but does like to chew things that he finds lying around unless instructed otherwise. He is good with other dogs as well as our kids but he forgets he is so big and jumps which can frighten people. We wish we could keep him but must re-home him ASAP. Preferably before the new baby arrives to ensure Hades receives the appropriate love and attention.

Story
Hello and a big “Woof” from me, Nimbus! I am a sweet boy waiting to steal your heart (and your lap too). I am a 7 month old, 44lb shepherd mix and I am as handsome as can be! Things you should know about me… I am a playful boy who loves to romp and play with my fellow doggie friends. But I am a proper lover boy too and I love to wrap up my play session with a long couch snuggles. I love my bones and stuffies and I do not destroy them! Do I love humans and children? Oh, you bet I do!! I am a puppy and I am working on my good manners when it comes to respecting some elder dogs but only because playing is so much fun! I would thrive with another pup who would also benefit with some good play time. I think you will love me so much and I know I will love you. Here’s more about me from my foster family. For his age, training is going very well. Nimbus is attentive & very food motivated. He has many major commands down, does well in his crate (though he can get stressed if alone too long and may have an accident). He has learned to communicate when he needs to go outside but does have occasional accidents as puppies can do. This cutie gets an upset tummy when traveling in a car, but we are hoping we will grow out of it. With cats, he may want to chase them to play. Nimbus is neutered & up to date on all shots/ vaccines. He is being fostered in Mountville PA. Apply at  www.pack9rescue.org New Oxford PA Lic# 17350   We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate.
