Story
SAMMIE IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE HE IS ADOPTED!    "Hey there, I'm Sammie! I am a social butterfly who loves every dog I meet and really hope my future home has other pups to play with! In my foster home, my favorite times are snuggle time, playtime, and dinner time! I'm a pro at cleaning my plate. I am a bit curious about the resident kitty in my foster home, but I promise I've never been anything but polite! I'm well versed in 'sit' and adore a game of fetch. Give me a backyard, and I'll run myself into nap time. While I've got a sweet side, I've also been known to channel my inner American Ninja Warrior and take a hop over short fences. I need to be watched!   I've made many furry and human friends in my foster home, and they all seem to think I'm great! I'm working on mastering the leash and to not bark, but I am getting into the crate when asked! If you have a couch and endless love to give, I'm ready to be yours!"   He is estimated to be between 2-3 years old and 65 lbs. He is fully vetted including neuter, microchip, and all shots including rabies shot. His adoption fee of $550 includes the transport to PA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Sammie up north after he is adopted.  To apply to adopt Sammie, go here:  http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net .    Any Questions, email us at newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com .  THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2023, 3:03 pm

Story
Hazel is currently in training with the HOPE program so she can be her very best doggie self for her new family. You can keep up with all the things she is learning here, get ready to be impressed: https://www.hopedogs.org/dogs/hazel/ Are you looking for a new adventure partner to help you achieve your New Year resolution to become more active? Hazel is the perfect dog for you! She loves exploring on walks and loves playing with tennis balls even more! Hazel came to us after some concerned neighbors reached out trying to find a better home for her. Hazel would love to have a fenced in yard where she can run around and play fetch! She hopes her new family doesn't mind her ball obsession, but she has been learning to return the ball when playing so we can throw it again for her - she's a smart one! Hazel is young (2-3 years old) and has a lot of energy, so she is looking for an active family that can take her on hikes, long walks, and other outdoor adventures! She has even tried her paw at agility training and absolutely loves it! Once given the chance to exercise Hazel also loves a good snuggle. Hazel is the perfect size, about 50 lbs. A family with working dog experience is preferred. Hazel would do well in a home with older children that are dog savvy. She does have a very strong prey drive, so a home without cats and other small animals is needed. Hazel has been dog selective, but we think a home where she is your one and only pet would be best. If you are local to the Dillsburg area, and interested in meeting Hazel, please visit our website, www.crcpa.org, to learn more about our adoption process and complete an application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!UPDATE:  Buddy is looking fantastic!!  He is a little 'stiff' in his old age but I told him its OK so am I!  He LOVES attention, he likes his toys and he is great with the dogs although I think he would be just as happy as an only dog he does fine with all the dogs here at the ranch :)Buddy's human mom died and her family who should have honored her by loving Buddy treated him like trash :(  By the time we got him he had huge patches of fur missing, infested with fleas.  We were told that he was 'put outside to live'.  Can you imagine being someone's best friend and then on top of losing them your life is turned upside down and you are a banquet for bugs and no one cares????  Buddy was shut down and had basically given up :(Not now Buddy you have your 2nd Chance and we are going to give you an amazing life!!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!November 29, 2023, 9:17 pm

In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Shirley is a 3 year old Shepherd mix who weighs about 50 pounds. She is currently at the Paws in Prison program where she is learning the basics and will pass the Canine Good Citizen test before she graduates. Shirley will graduate from the program at the beginning of January. She is a very laid back girl. If you want a sweet buddy who loves life in the slow lane, take Shirley for a spin! Good with other dogs. Her backstory- She was found as a stray. The finder kept her for a year until it became inconvenient, at which point she brought her to our vet to be euthanized.
