Story
Meet Tracy and Stacy! Tracy and Stacy are 5 year old standard poodle/golden retriever mixes who were both saved from the same commercial breeding facility in Lancaster County. They came to us covered from head to toe in matted fur, like most puppy mill poodle mixes, but thanks to our wonderful grooming volunteers have had the pain and weight of those mats removed! They look beautiful and can have a fresh start in their new life! They are shy, due to their years of abuse and neglect, but are really starting to blossom in their foster home. We are confident they will make wonderful family members for any family who understands their past and gives them the time they needs to trust. These girls love one another, and would love to spend the rest of their days together. We require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Puppy mill dogs tend to do best in a home without young children as well (10+), though this determination is made on a case by case basis. Please apply to be considered at our website www.angelsretreat.org! 💕🐾 Tracy and Stacy Quick Facts: -They are large dogs, standard poodle sized -They would do best in a home without young children -They do have to go home together, but LOVE other dogs -They love people they trust and their foster mom describes them as they “loving shadow” -They are house trained!

Story
Meet Chessie! Chessie is a 1 year old Golden Retriever/Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever mix (our best guess!) who came to us as a stray in Chester PA. Chessie was originally found by GoodBoy Dog Recovery. They helped bring him to safety, and then into our care, where he received the medical attention and care that he needed. GoodBoy Dog Recovery is a non-profit organization that helps countless dogs who are lost, alone, and afraid to get back to safety. The dogs they save are both missing from their loving owners and other times, lost with no where to go back to. We are able to help those lost dogs take that next step to find their forever home, and we are very grateful for this partnership that impacts so many dogs in our local community. It takes a village in rescue! Chessie is initially timid, due to all the change and uncertainty in his life, but once you sit with him and give him a chance to relax he will gladly lean on you and enjoys some pets. He is a sweet boy who just needs to find his confidence! As with all rescue dogs, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learns to live in a house and around people. We require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods only. If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org 💕🐾

Story
Paige is a 4 year old spayed female mini goldendoodle who weighs 32 pounds. She was rescued in horrible conditions where she was living in filth and needed to be fully shaved. These girls are warming up to us, are so cute and will need understanding families to work with them. Paige must go to a home with another dog, a fenced in yard and she would do best with older kids. We are not sure if they have ever lived in a home, so their families should be prepared to work on potty training, but they seem to be picking it up quickly. Story
Oliver is a 3 year old neutered male goldendoodle who weighs 45 pounds. He was rescued as part of a cruelty case, and has never looked back. His tail had to be amputated and it is clear that he was abused, but he is starting his next chapter and lovinf life. He thrives with another dog to follow around, would prefer a fenced in yard due to trauma when it comes to a leash. Through everything, he has been so sweet and deserves to be spoiled rotten. Story
Introducing Miss Honey! Honey is as sweet as her name. She is a 5-year-old spayed mini golden doodle, weighing around 40 lbs. She is up to date on all her vaccinations and is on monthly flea and tick and heartworm preventatives. While initially timid and unsure, after being allowed some time to feel safe and secure, she wants nothing more than to be exactly where her people are. She walks with a slack leash (as long as she’s with you), is doing great at going outside in the backyard to use the potty (as long as she is with you) and sleeps all night on her dog bed (as long as she’s next to you) Do you see the pattern here?! Honey is indifferent to cats, has been gentle with all children that she has interacted with and gets along with both our female and male dog, although she’s much happier with her people and would probably be just fine in a single dog home. Because of her desire to be with her human family, she does have separation anxiety when left alone. She would do best with a family that is home a lot and able to spend as much time with her as possible. She is not the biggest fan of her crate but is slowly adjusting to that as well. With some time and patience, Honey will be a great companion for her future family!
