Meet Tracy and Stacy! Tracy and Stacy are 4-5 year old standard poodle/golden retriever mixes who were both saved from the same commercial breeding facility in Lancaster County. They came to us covered from head to toe in matted fur, like most puppy mill poodle mixes, but thanks to our wonderful grooming volunteers have had the pain and weight of those mats removed! They look beautiful and can have a fresh start in their new life! They faced years of abuse and neglect, but all of that is behind them, and we are excitedbto find them there happily ever after! They can be intially reserved, but are really starting to blossom and show their sweet and silly personalities in their foster home. We are confident they will make wonderful family members for any family who understands their past and gives them lots of love. These girls love one another, and would love to spend the rest of their days together. Hello, my name is: SandiDOB: 10/16/2017Sex/Breed: Spayed female Retriever mixWeight: 63 lbs, but is overweightRescued From: Overcrowded shelterIf resilience had a face, it would be Sandi’s.Her life was turned upside down when the human she knew her entire life sent her to live with a relative when they were no longer able to care for her. Then her new guardian passed away after just a year, and Sandi found herself in an overcrowded shelter; frightened and at risk of losing her life due to lack of space. Before then, she only knew the comfort of a home, so the harshness of the shelter was a huge shock. Thankfully, Sandi had a new angel looking after her, who pulled her from her concrete prison and gave her another chance. She was gravely overweight and needed some extra TLC. Now 35 lbs lighter, Sandi still has a little more progress to make, but she is healthier now and so ready to find her forever home! Her new family will need to be dedicated to the rest of her weight-loss journey and keep her feeling great. She’s always been part of a large pack but could enjoy being an “only child” and getting all the attention; she’ll fit right into any family composition just fine. She will need a home without cats. Watching this beautiful girl blossom and become more playful and comfortable has been such a joy! Sandi is house trained, has good manners in the home, and loves to please her people. Hi Cooper, This sweetheart is an approx. 2 month old Golden Retriever. His mom and litter mates were surrendered to us from a commercial breeder in Lancaster when they could not be sold. Does not get any cuter than a little golden baby. Cooper is sweet, social and never met a stranger. He has been a total sunshine and joy with us. He would love a home with another social dog. At this age, puppy classes will be very important so he could grow into the dog possible. He would need to meet any resident dogs. She will come with age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, neutered. Cooper was surrendered because he was diagnosed with ICHTHYOSIS. It is a genetic condition that will require life-long management. The adopter should speak with their vet to truly understand Cooper's needs prior to adoption. Hi Bee, This sweetheart is a 4 year old Golden Retriever. She and her puppies were surrendered to our care from a Lancaster breeder when they chose not to breed her anymore. Bee is as sweet as she is pretty. She has been nothing short of perfect with us - gentle, friendly and happy. We have no doubt she will be a wonderful addition to just about any family. She would need to meet any resident dogs. She will come vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Bee was surrendered because her three puppies were diagnosed Ichthyosis. While she does not seem to be affected by it, it is a genetic condition for which she is a carrier.
