Story
Lucky is a 4-year-old stunning Great Dane who is incredibly sweet, gentle, and loving. After being abandoned by her original family, she was taken in by a very generous foster who has given her the safety and care she needed to start fresh. She is wonderful with other dogs and enjoys their company, whether it’s calmly coexisting or sharing space for play and companionship. Like many Danes, she’s a big girl with an even bigger heart — leaning in for affection, soaking up attention, and just wanting to be near her people. Lucky truly deserves a forever family who understands the commitment of owning a giant breed and can give her the time, stability, and love she’s always deserved. She’s ready to leave her past behind and step into a future filled with comfort, kindness, and belonging. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this gentle giant, Lucky is ready to meet you. Lucky will come with on and off leash training. She is dog-friendly, we are unsure about kids.

Story
Oden is a wonderful and growing Great Dane puppy. He spent the first five months of his life on a 5 to 6 foot chain. So when he arrived at the shelter, he did not have a lot of manners. But he is sweet as all get out. He is loving, playful, and just wonderful! **** Please read adoption information carefully!!!**** Odin is a stunningly handsome little boy -male, 7 months -supposedly pure-bread, -Neutered -Current Weight : 90 lbs, will grow -Crate trained -Potty trained Odin is a big, funny bundle of joy, energy, and affection. He is just a big goofball! Odin is still a puppy, and will continue to grow. He is on the bigger side, but has an abundance of affection and cuteness! Odin is a well-adjusted puppy who has been hand raised. He has never shown any signs of aggression of any kind, including food aggression, although he can occasionally be a little rambunctious. He really thinks that he is a little dog…. ? Odin wants to be a lapdog; he can’t quite figure out why he doesn’t fit in my lap, but he settles for putting his head in my lap, since the rest of him doesn’t fit 😜 Odin is used to playing and sleeping with the other dogs on the property. He is well socialized, both with humans and dogs. While I have never seen him interact with a cat, I have no reason to anticipate a problem. ************************************ ADOPTION INFORMATION ************************************ I only adopt LOCALLY; San Diego and immediate vicinity. ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. Meet Roscoe! Roscoe is a 1½-year-old, 70-pound Great Dane mix with a big heart to match his size. He may be a little shy for the first few minutes when meeting new people, but once he warms up, he quickly becomes your loyal best friend. Roscoe is a young, playful guy who would love a canine buddy to run and play with. Like many big, enthusiastic pups, he’s still working on his manners and would benefit from continued guidance and training as he grows into his best self. Roscoe’s story started with heartbreak—he was abandoned when his family moved away and left him in the backyard. He ended up on the euthanasia list before finding safety with us, and now he’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will love him forever. Roscoe has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on all vaccines. He also appears to be house trained. With his sweet nature and playful spirit, Roscoe is ready to bring a lot of love (and a little Dane-sized goofiness) into his forever home. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  March 30, 2026, 1:35 pm
