APPLY FOR NYX We would like you to meet Nyx! Nyx is a 1 year old Great Dane that found herself at a local animal control shelter after she was believed to be abandoned at a park. She was found standing there, waiting for her humans to come back, but they never did, and they didn’t come get her out of the shelter either, so ASTDR did! Nyx is the total package! She is as sweet as they come and is very true to her breed when it comes to being a Velcro pup. Despite how she was found, we can tell someone loved her at some point. She is house broken, crate trained, know most of her basic commands as well. Nyx loves toys particularly balls and if you won’t throw it for her, she will throw it for herself! Nyx is good with other dogs, ignores cats and even ignored some birds she met at her time in the shelter! She should be with kids that are stable on their feet as she is a big girl and could unintentionally knock a toddler down. Nyx LOVES to be outside, so strong preference will be given to someone with a big fenced yard that she can run around in. Extra large dog experience is preferred and we will not be considering first time dog owners for Nyx. His foster says he likes everyone he meets and can’t get enough back scratches. He loves to run and play and would enjoy having a fenced in yard or a family that is active. Timber is great with children, he doesn’t know he’s a big boy so older children may be best for him. He thinks he’s a lap dog and will cuddle with as long as you want. Winston was rescued as a puppy living life in a crate. He was brought home to relatives who are both wheelchair-bound. This puppy grew into a Great Dane, lol! Winston is currently more than his adult owners can physically keep up with. He is trained to an electronic collar so he can run around his country yard and play with the other dog from the house. He is good with kids and loves to sit on the couch like a human, with his front paws resting on the ground. Welcome Plainer to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 4-year-old Great Dane. She came in with a male Great Dane and she does great with him. She has a little grey on her muzzle and she smiles and wrinkles her nose. She then puts her head in your hands. It was startling the first time we saw her wrinkle her nose. We thought it was a negative indicator but the more we worked with her the more we knew it was her way to smile. She is adorable. She is moderately active and would be fine with a lower energy family. She will be fine as an only pet and she would be fine with children. She is an adult so you won’t have all the puppy antics to put up with. She is good in her crate and good on a leash. She is currently going to be cleared for the heartworms and then spayed and readied for her forever home. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 180. Welcome Cheeto. He is a 6 month old Great Dane mix. He is 67 pounds right now and may be 80 pounds full grown. Cheeto is a great dog. He loves treats and will sit when asked to with a treat. He loves the lady kennel workers. He is timid which is common in this breed but he is very friendly and affectionate. He would be great with someone that knows and understands this wonderful breed. He was found on the streets of Texas and was taken in by a good Samaritan. He can go with children. We like them to 8 or older. He would love to be a companion for the right family. He will love being a house dog and he is energetic but not for too much time and he settles down nicely. If you have a fenced back yard, he can get enough exercise exploring it. He could also go on walks. He does pull some but he really wants to do what you are asking so consistency with him will work wonders. He is currently neutered, vaccinated, healthy and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.
