APPLY FOR NYX We would like you to meet Nyx! Nyx is a 1 year old Great Dane that found herself at a local animal control shelter after she was believed to be abandoned at a park. She was found standing there, waiting for her humans to come back, but they never did, and they didn’t come get her out of the shelter either, so ASTDR did! Nyx is the total package! She is as sweet as they come and is very true to her breed when it comes to being a Velcro pup. Despite how she was found, we can tell someone loved her at some point. She is house broken, crate trained, know most of her basic commands as well. Nyx loves toys particularly balls and if you won’t throw it for her, she will throw it for herself! Nyx is good with other dogs, ignores cats and even ignored some birds she met at her time in the shelter! She should be with kids that are stable on their feet as she is a big girl and could unintentionally knock a toddler down. Nyx LOVES to be outside, so strong preference will be given to someone with a big fenced yard that she can run around in. Extra large dog experience is preferred and we will not be considering first time dog owners for Nyx. Cassie is a truly special dog who is looking for her forever home. Cassie is an extremely loving 1.5-year-old, 48 lb mixed breed. She is believed to be a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. Cassie has faced some challenges; she is deaf and has impaired vision. Adding to this, she was sadly abandoned in a house in South Carolina after a hurricane last fall and has now been searching for a home for over a year. Despite her past, Cassie is a resilient and affectionate girl. Her favorite activity is snuggling with her people on the couch, and she is fully housetrained. She also enjoys car rides, toys, and playing in the yard. Our trainer is committed to continuing her training with her new family. Cassie is seeking a home that is ready to embrace a special needs dog and, in return, receive endless love and companionship. Hi! I’m Twix, and I have a big personality and an even bigger heart. I’m a 9 month old, 55 pound Great Dane mix with lots of puppy energy, a brave spirit, and a curious nose that’s always sniffing out the next adventure. I love to play, explore, and make new friends. Life didn’t start out easy for me. Animal Control had to come to the place I was living because the man there wasn’t taking care of us. Thankfully, he agreed to surrender us, and now me and my sisters—Reese and Babe Ruth—are safe and learning what love really feels like. Even after everything, I’m still full of hope, joy, and tail wags. I am housetrained, enjoy walking on the leash, and ride well in the car. My foster family says I am the most loving, sweet boy!
