Story
Meet Bradley Pooper! He is a sweet, lovable teddy bear full of charm and affection. He absolutely adores people and soaks up attention wherever he goes. According to his foster mom, Bradley does well with kids, but due to his expected large size and enthusiastic puppy energy, a home with adults only would be the best fit. As of 4/10/25, he weighs 33 lbs—and he's still growing! We anticipate he’ll reach around double that weight once fully grown. The Great Pyrenees is a true working dog at heart, originally bred to guard livestock in rugged mountain terrain. This means they come hardwired with strong protective instincts, independence, and a deep sense of duty to watch over their home and loved ones. While incredibly gentle, loving, and calm with their families, they’re also naturally alert and can be vocal when they sense something unfamiliar. Adopters should be prepared for a dog that loves to patrol their yard—even if there are no sheep in sight! They need space to roam, a securely fenced yard, regular grooming for their thick coats, and early socialization to help them thrive as both a companion and a guardian. If you're looking for a loyal, majestic dog who brings both heart and heritage to the home, the Great Pyrenees may be your perfect match. Be ready to adopt. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. Please fill out our online application and our adoption counselor will reach out to you to discuss meeting your new family member.

Story
This amazing litter of puppies were born to a stray Great Pyrenees mom (last pic), and the neighbors think a border collie in the neighborhood. Mom dug a hole on a property and had her puppies there. The kindness of a family took them all to their yard and kept everyone safe. This is all in the Fresno area. We had the blessed fortune of having Pilots n Paws pick them up and fly to us. These puppies have the most ez going temperament. They were born the first week of December. We are guessing they will be in the 75-80 pound range full grown. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Story
Meet Oliver... another absolute exquisite example of majestic beauty. Oliver was rescued from an extremely high kill animal shelter in Kern County. This boy is living with 3 dogs. He is great with the females, but can get in squabbles with the male shepherd. We are suggesting that he goes to a home without another male dog. Oliver is a leaner, a cuddle and all around amazing boy. He walks well on leash, is super ez going. He is under 2 years of age and will make any family gush. Oliver weighs around 85 pounds. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment.
