Story
I found Koda on the side of the road being sold out of a truck on June 4, 2022. He was covered in ticks and fleas and had a stomach parasite. He was only 2 months old and there was no information or paperwork on his past or his parents. I took him to the vet and made sure he was healthy and had no issues. Koda grew up with my golden retriever and cat so he gets along very well with them. He has been around other dogs but doesn't get along well with them. Some days he is more stubborn than usual and refuses to go outside and he tends to have his moments where he likes to be alone. But he is a wonderful guard dog, but that means he does bark a lot. With meeting new people he is very timid, it takes some time for him to come around and get to know people. Koda has a big heart but is very stubborn, but with the right family and training I feel that Koda can be a great dog. Koda needs a very loving and patient family. Please message me for any questions or concerns.

Story
RODEO HAS GOTTEN ALONG WITH DOGS WE HAVE INTRODUCED HIM TO THAT ARE HIS OWN SIZE. PROPER INTRODUCTION WOULD BE NEEDED TO EVALUATE IF HE'S GOING TO GET ALONG WITH AN EXISTING DOG IN A HOME BUT BECAUSE OF HIS SIZE AND STRENGTH, WE BELIEVE HE WOULD BE A GOOD MATCH FOR A DOG HIS SIZE. APPLICANTS MUST LIVE IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES IN AN ADULT-ONLY HOME (NO APARTMENTS) WITH A PRIVATE YARD. RODEO is the definition of a Rhinestone Cowboy! Not only does he have stunning good looks, but his DNA results prove that he is quite a unique gem of Great Pyrenees/Aussie/Border Collie. Our rescue has been working with a certified professional dog trainer to help us get to know Rodeo and set him up for success. Rodeo is an incredible dog that would do best with an adopter that has experience with the large working breeds and structure in the home. He would not be a good dog for a first-time dog owner. Mostly comprised of Great Pyrenees, he has the potential to be protective of his family. He doesn’t know his own strength and size at times, so we have been working on him staying calm and focusing on his handler. Because of Rodeo’s grand stature, he would require a home with a yard (NOT AN APARTMENT) and no small children that he could inadvertently knock over or small pets. Rodeo estimated date of birth is January, 2019. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and whoever is lucky enough to adopt this rooty tooty cowboy will get an in-home dog training lesson as part of his adoption. Now that’s something to YEE-HAW about! --- If you are interested in adopting Rodeo please fill out our adoption application by clicking this LINK. Applications are required PRIOR to meeting one of our animals and are used to set up a safe and successful adoption. Please don't be shy and answer the questions thoroughly. To learn more about our entire process please visit www.therescuetrain.org and click on the "Adopt A Dog" page. PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT OWN A FACILITY. Our animals are in private foster homes. Story
Magnolia is a breathtaking little lady with the classic Great Pyrenees elegance wrapped in a more petite package. At three years old and approximately 90 pounds, she’s a spayed female who turns heads everywhere she goes — her fluffy white coat, soft expression, and regal posture make her truly gorgeous to look at. But it’s her personality that wins people over even faster. She is a sweet, loving, affectionate dog who thrives on companionship. Magnolia enjoys car rides, settles in beautifully, and loves going for walks where she can stretch her legs and take in the world. She has plenty of energy and enthusiasm, making her a fun partner for someone who enjoys an active daily routine. At home, she’s crate trained, adores her toys, and has a playful, spirited side that brings a lot of joy to the people around her. Magnolia prefers to be the pampered princess of the household. She would do best as the only pet and is not suitable for a home with cats. Her ideal family is one that appreciates her affectionate nature, her lively energy, and her desire to be the center of attention. She would be a wonderful fit for a home with older children who can enjoy her big, loving presence. She is available for adoption in the Greater Los Angeles area and is ready to bring her beauty, sweetness, and bright spirit into a home that will cherish her. COURTESY POST: CONTACT 818-378-8995 to foster OR adopt. Brody is a shy 2-year-old, 95 lb. boy, who sadly was abandoned and left in boarding when a rescue group closed its doors. Brody is a little nervous with new people but once he gets to know you, he’ll be your most loyal companion. He is calm, playful, gentle with other dogs and loves to play catch with his trusted two-legged friends. He enjoys being by your side and will sit calmly and smile when he’s ready for affection and belly rubs. It might take some time to earn his trust… but the love he offers in return will be worth it. (No kids please, they scare him). House-trained, neutered, current on vaccines and ready for a home to call his own.

Story
Sugar is a 7-year-old Pyrenees mix with the kindest heart and the sweetest soul. While we don’t know much about her life before rescue, it’s clear she hasn’t always had it easy. She came to us with a skin condition and significant dental wear and despite that, Sugar is nothing but gentle, loving, and grateful. Her foster describes her as an absolute angel. Sugar is calm, well-behaved, and deeply affectionate while at home. She forms bonds quickly and seems to truly appreciate the comfort and care of a loving home. Sugar does wonderfully with confident dogs. She enjoys beach days and adventures, and while she can be a little unsure in new places, she continues to gain confidence every day. She’s a smart, eager-to-please girl who already knows how to sit and patiently waits while her leash is put on. She enjoys playtime, loves her chew toys and lick mats, and still has plenty of joy and curiosity for life. At home, Sugar is the ultimate companion. She loves belly rubs, leans in close for affection, and is happiest curled up near her people for a cozy night in. She’s the perfect balance of adventure buddy and couch companion.

Story
Meet Chance! A seven-year-old Great Pyrenees/Siberian Husky mix currently in Porterville, CA, whose striking eyes and calm, laidback presence make every day feel a little more peaceful. This handsome large boy weighs about 95 pounds and carries his dark brown and tan coat like a gentle guardian of the backyard and the couch alike. Chance thrives in a family environment, does well with children, and truly loves being near his people. Whether he is resting at your feet, supervising dinner preparations from his designated kitchen doorway spot, or softly snoring in his crate, his steady companionship is a gift. He is house-trained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and even has transferable pet insurance to support his continued care. He settles very well when left alone and politely lets you know when it is time for a potty break. As a herding breed mix, Chance is wonderfully attuned to his surroundings. He may gently nudge with his nose to “help” guide you, and he benefits from clear boundaries and structured routines, especially around food. He is ruled by his nose and enjoys relaxed daily walks, including long 'sniffaris' where he can investigate every tree and lamppost. He does beautifully both on and off leash with familiar dogs and is compatible with other dogs and cats. In fact, he currently coexists peacefully with neighborhood cats and has even shared playful moments with them. Chance is an early riser around 5:00 to 5:30 a.m., appreciates consistent mealtimes, enjoys car rides, loves his drinking water, and requires regular grooming, including care for his extra dewclaws. He is not a frequent barker, though he will offer a big alert if someone approaches. He knows an impressive list of commands such as sit, stay, down, come, roll over, shake, go lay down, walk fast, and even “time for bed.” Chance has a small patch of hair loss on his tail. A veterinarian evaluated it and an allergy shot was tried without effect, but he shows no other concerning symptoms and appears comfortable and healthy. He receives regular dental chews and ongoing routine care. If you can offer companionship, structure and a cozy indoor sleeping space, could Chance be the loyal friend you have been hoping for?
