Story
Buddy is a one and a half year old Great Pyrenees mix. He came from a farm where he was allowed to roam freely. He was surrendered to FOCCAS because his humans could no longer care for him due to health problems. Buddy is looking for someone to put some time into training him in basic commands and house manners and take him on walks. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Buddy's adoption fee is $275. If transport is needed, there are additional fees to cover department of agriculture requirements and transport, the additional fee adds $300 to the adoption fee (any location out of Tennessee, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions)Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org!To Apply Please Copy and Paste to your browser:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
Hansel – The Big, Derpy SweetheartHansel is an approximately 4-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who has blossomed since arriving at FMAR in August. He came from a tough start, but since being in care, Hansel has grown into a lovable, silly, and devoted companion. While he looks a bit more like a classic Pyrenees, Hansel is far less of the typical guardian breed. He’s delightfully derpy—often running and barking at the wind or a falling leaf—then plopping down to rest his giant head in your lap for some serious snuggles.Hansel walks beautifully on leash and he would do well in many types of homes, from active families to quiet ones, as long as he has space to roam. He tends to get nervous around new people or animals at first but once you’re in his inner circle, you’re family for life.He keeps his kennel neat and isn’t interested in toys, but he LOVES being outside—ideally in a large yard where he can explore, sniff, flop, and roll around to his heart’s content.Hansel is a gentle giant who’s ready to find a family who will cherish his goofy, loyal spirit.Interested in adopting me?I`d love to meet you! To get started, click the blue Dog Adoption Application button at the top of this page to submit your application!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you would like to meet Hansel, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received.**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we are able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it's "the way things are done" for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS----> PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbabyâs status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Unknown 👦 Good with kids? Yes 🐕 Leash Trained? Unknown 🏠 House Trained? Unknown Meet Ivy, an 8-year-old Great Pyrenees mix with all the makings of a proper nanny dog! She absolutely adores children and loves being part of their playtime. Her only complaint? When the kids take off without her, she howls to make sure everyone knows she's been left behind! Ivy gets along well with other dogs, although she needed a little time to warm up to them. She's even done well with the foster's pet skunk (cats are still an unknown)! She hasn't mastered leash walking or house training yet, so she'll need a family willing to help her with those lessons. This senior girl has spent most of her time outdoors, but we think she'd love a chance to be part of the household. If your family could use a furry nanny who's happiest keeping the kids company, Ivy is ready to clock in. Ivy is currently undergoing slow-kill treatment for heartworm disease. The Artemis Project will continue to provide the necessary monthly medication for treatment until cleared of heartworms. --------------- Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. She’s got fetch down to an art and is ready to put her brains and ball-chasing skills to good use with her next family. Amy was surrendered when she and another dog in the home didn’t get along. She’s selective about her canine company, so any potential dog siblings will need to meet her first. She’d also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only.
