MEET SOLACE Allow me to introduce you to… Solace. Her name means comfort. Peace. Shelter for the heart. Which is fitting—because that’s exactly what she needed when we found her. Solace was abandoned. No leash. No goodbye. No explanation. Just a beautiful Great Pyrenees left behind like she didn’t matter. But look at her now. Still soft. Still trusting. Still standing tall like she doesn’t know how to stop being good—even after humans failed her. She didn’t come out angry. She came out gentle. Some dogs get rescued and become loud about it. They bark their gratitude. They demand reassurance. Solace? She became quiet in that way that says: “I’m ready to belong… if you are.” She’s calm, soulful, and steady—the kind of dog who changes the energy of a room just by being in it. The kind who leans in softly and makes everything feel okay again. Welcome to safety, sweet girl. Now all that’s missing… is home. Solace is ready to find her forever family. If your heart has room for comfort, peace, and unconditional love—she may be waiting for you. Story
Meet Dakota 2-year-old Great Pyrenees | Gentle • Loving • Easygoing Dakota is one of those dogs that quietly wins everyone over. Picked up as a stray, Dakota waited patiently at the shelter for someone to come looking for him. No one did. What did happen, though, was every single staff member falling in love with him. Dakota is super sweet, calm, and affectionate—the kind of dog that leans in for pets and makes you feel like everything is going to be okay. He has the classic Great Pyrenees temperament: gentle, loyal, and thoughtful, with a big heart to match his big frame. Despite being in a stressful shelter environment, Dakota showed nothing but kindness. He was easy to handle, friendly with people, and genuinely adored by the staff who cared for him. That tells us a lot about the kind of dog he is. Dakota is still young at just 2 years old and ready to start his real life—the one with a soft place to land, daily routines, and a family who sees what the shelter staff saw right away: a truly special dog. If you’re looking for a loving companion with a calm soul and a heart of gold, Dakota is ready to meet you. Story
Baby Cakes is currently in a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. -Baby Cakes came in with five siblings after being abandoned in the woods in late February/early March 2025. All of her siblings have been adopted and are thriving in their new homes. -She is a special case that will need a loving, very patient home. She is very shy and needs to feel safe and loved. You can see her disposition in the YouTube video attached. -Just turned 1 year old (January 1st) -Approximately 50-55 pounds -DNA testing shows she is 74% Great Pyrenees/18% Miniature Australian Shepherd/8% Boxer -Does great with other dogs large and small, would probably help her come out of her shell more. Small, yappy dogs stress her out. -Would do well with one-on-one attention -Best environment would be a quiet home. If there are children in the home, they need to be over 14 years old or so. -Needs an elevated bed or soft bed to lay on -Would need a fenced yard since she would be a flight risk (at least in the beginning when she's learning to trust her new family). Watch her video: https://youtube.com/shorts/cRBr78S6TkM See the rescue video when her litter was found: https://www.facebook.com/61556973118844/videos/641365195044815 Baby Cakes is spayed, vaccinated (Rabies, DHLPPx3, Bordetella), has been dewormed and a fecal test, and on monthly flea/tick/HW prevention. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Stella Rose Great Pyrenees (possibly purebred) Stella Rose is a beautiful, gentle soul with a joyful, people-centered heart. She has the classic Great Pyrenees look — soft white coat, expressive eyes, and a calm, graceful presence — paired with a personality that is affectionate, happy, and deeply connected to her people. She does wonderfully with other dogs and has a surprisingly athletic side for a Pyrenees. Stella can clear a 5½-foot fence with ease — not because she wants to escape, but because she wants to get to her people. Her loyalty runs that deep. She isn’t interested in roaming; she’s interested in belonging. Stella Rose is incredibly people-oriented. She seeks connection, enjoys companionship, and would thrive in a home where she’s truly part of the family. She has a warm, loving demeanor and a gentle way about her that makes her a joy to be around. Like many Great Pyrenees, she brings both devotion and independence — a dog who can think for herself, yet chooses her people again and again. She would do best in a home that understands the breed: one that values trust, kindness, and inclusion over confinement. Stella Rose is ready for a family of her own — one she can love, protect, and run toward every single day. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and a gentle soul, Stella Rose may be the one you’ve been waiting for. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. We try to post videos for each pet so you can really get to know them. If you would like to find out more please email or call Diane at... diane@ulpr.org or 870-577-3744.   Please email us at diane@ulpr.org and request an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 12, 2026, 5:10 am
