Story
Meet Freddy and Ghost, two brothers who have truly earned their names! Back in January, we received a Facebook message about two stray puppies who had been dropped off behind a local Dollar General. A couple of volunteers went to rescue them, but these guys did not want to be caught. They were terrified! Finally, after nearly 24 hours of bribing them with chicken and setting live traps, Freddy (fluffy pup) and Ghost (short haired pup) were caught. Did I mention this happened on Friday the 13th? That’s where Freddy (fluffy pup) got his name. And Ghost? Well, he got his name because he would appear, then disappear just as quick while trying to catch him. Fast forward 4 weeks… Freddy and Ghost are finally learning to be trust and be true puppies! They have learned that people aren’t so bad after all. While they are still a little apprehensive around new people, they are making tremendous progress everyday! They are extremely food motivated, so with some yummy treats and a little patience, they will warm up to you. These guys love running around in their fenced yard, playing with toys, chewing on bones, and playing with each another. They get along great with the other dogs in their foster home and even do fine with the cat! They do not have ANY leash training. That is something that will need to be worked on as they grow more confident and trusting of people. A fenced yard is required for these boys. They can be adopted together or separately. If you are interested in adding one or both of these boys to your family, please submit an application at www.goofyfootrescue.org

Story
Juneau is a 2.5 year old Great Pyrenees mix (bday 9/02/20) weighing around 65 pounds. He is a very snuggly boy who will sit on the couch with you to watch TV or take a nap. He currently has two cat siblings who aren't huge fans of him, but he would love to play with them if they would. He's very mild mannered, however he does get into garbage if it is not in a can with a lid on it, and isn't the best leash walker. Juneau is a very social dog who loves people and animals, but has a ferocious bark when he sees someone new (once you let him smell the person, though, he's their new best friend). He is a great family dog and loves having friends to play with. Lots of shedding comes with him, but his snuggles and sweet little ways he shows affection are absolutely worth it. If you are interested in adopting him, please submit at application at www.goofyfootrescue.org

Story
Nola is beautiful white angel that is a young 1 year old that only weighs 70 pounds. This Great Pyrenees mix girl is totally healthy and has the biggest brown eyes and a wonderfully calm personality.  Easy going comes to mind as we watch this girl move through the farm yard at her foster home.  She was found at an Alabama gas station where people who worked there said she had been begging for food in the parking area for 3 days.   Foster mom Cissie, brought her home to her small farm and did social media and advertising on Lost and found sites.  The owner contacted Cissie but said he did not want her back, so this girl immediately became a Critter Cavalry Rescue girl.  She fit in immediately with all of Cissie’s dogs and there are quite a few too!  Nola most enjoys long walks on the farm and romping and playing with everyone there! She is curious of the cat but doesn’t bother him and Nola is good with the horses and donkeys,  but does bark at the pig.  Nola is good on a leash and in the house with kids and dogs.  Her favorite things are getting hugs and going for car rides!!!!   This gentle soul is ready for a lifetime commitment from someone with fenced containment and time, love and attention to give her.  She must be an inside and outside dog.   We do not want her to live outside as only a working dog.  If you are interested please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com \PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 29, 2023, 9:54 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. CHLOE was transferred to GaDaH from a high kill shelter in Texas on 22nd April 2023. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos.      CHLOE is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm/tick tested negative. She is on monthly prevention, microchipped, has an estimated date of birth of 17 March 2019 and at the time of transport weighed 82 pounds. We have no way of knowing what the actual breed is, so it is up to people to look at the pictures and video's to make up their own mind. CHLOE is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine for an adoption fee of $550.       This adoption fee covers the cost of running a brick and mortar rescue as well as any transport, veterinary, food,   treats, toys costs and the many expenses that rescues endure to keep the pets in their care safe, and happy.     Be sure to read all the information and if interested, go to the rescue website to submit an adoption application. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 The rescue buys food in bulk, by the truck load and there are a variety of brands and flavors. None of the food given is less than a 4* food rating. There have not been issues with eating any of the varying foods. It is important that you do your research on the ingredients and speak to your vet or a nutritionist on grain vs grain free! &#226&#128&#139You MUST understand that dogs need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. It is a HUGE transition they make from the kill shelter, being vetted, on transport for 3 days and arriving in Maine where the temperature and such is very different to what they have only known. In rescue there is what is known as the "3 Point Rule" Days 1-3 your dog is stressed, anxious, confused as to where they are now. Weeks 1-3 your dog is adjusting, settling in, learning things. At the 3-month point, your dog understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 1-2 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then we can schedule your appointment to come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine for meet/greet/adopt Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx. 8 miles) and approx. 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. Story
Aspen and Alpine are a very bonded brother/sister pair of lovable gentle giants! They were purchased from a breeder but released to us when they realized they worked too much for two large puppies. They are spay/neutered, UTD on core vaccines and are HW negative as well as microchipped. They do love to be outside but they also love to be inside with their humans and they LOVE affection. Aspen is a bit more stubborn which is a great definite trait but she is a very good girl and she is crate trained and appears housetrained but we do let them out often. Aspen seems to love her men and Alpine is a definite ladies man so they would be a great addition to any couple's life. They seem to love everyone and everything. These are really great pups! If you would like make these sweet babies your new forever family members, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com and we will send our info and app.
