Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Meet Oreo, a handsome, happy-go-lucky 4-year-old, 94 lb Great Pyrenees / Lab mix who brings the perfect blend of outdoor enthusiasm and indoor calm. Outside, Oreo loves to stretch his legs, run, play, and explore—whether he has playmates or is entertaining himself, a securely fenced in yard is a must for this big boy. Inside, he shifts gears into a much more relaxed companion who’s content to share the couch with you or another dog. He’s a big boy, so his joyful tail wags can be powerful, but they’re full of love. Oreo is a wonderful greeter and delights in welcoming you home with excitement and affection. He happily soaks up all the attention you’ll give and, if you let him, will gladly curl up beside you at night. He knows “no,” “down,” and “sit,” though sitting outside takes him a moment—he’s just so eager to enjoy the outdoors. He’s fully housetrained and crate-friendly, especially if he’s offered a chew toy; once he’s settled in, he naps contentedly. This lovable giant gets along beautifully with visitors of all sizes and is respectful of cats—he’s quickly learned that claws mean business. While not a watchdog, he makes up for it with his friendly charm. Oreo does pull on the leash and can get excited about chasing cars, wildlife, or ATVs, so he’ll benefit from continued guidance/training and safe spaces to run. Car rides aren’t his favorite yet, but with a seatbelt strap and reassurance, he manages just fine. Oreo would thrive in a country setting, a home with property, or an active household that can give him room to play and enjoy life. He’s incredibly sweet and gentle at heart, but due to his size and enthusiasm, he’d do best in a home without small children or elderly individuals who could be knocked over accidentally. If you’re looking for a big, affectionate companion with a playful spirit and a loving soul, Oreo is ready to fill your home with joy, tail wags, and warm snuggles.  Interested in adopting? MEET SOLACE Allow me to introduce you to… Solace. Her name means comfort. Peace. Shelter for the heart. Which is fitting—because that’s exactly what she needed when we found her. Solace was abandoned. No leash. No goodbye. No explanation. Just a beautiful Great Pyrenees left behind like she didn’t matter. But look at her now. Still soft. Still trusting. Still standing tall like she doesn’t know how to stop being good—even after humans failed her. She didn’t come out angry. She came out gentle. Some dogs get rescued and become loud about it. They bark their gratitude. They demand reassurance. Solace? She became quiet in that way that says: “I’m ready to belong… if you are.” She’s calm, soulful, and steady—the kind of dog who changes the energy of a room just by being in it. The kind who leans in softly and makes everything feel okay again. Welcome to safety, sweet girl. Now all that’s missing… is home. Solace is ready to find her forever family. If your heart has room for comfort, peace, and unconditional love—she may be waiting for you. Story
Meet Vivian – Female Great Pyrenees Hello. Gumbo here. This is Vivian, and yes, she knows she’s impressive. Vivian is a Great Pyrenees–type puppy (no papers, no fairy tales, just big fluffy potential). She’s already showing that classic Pyr confidence: calm curiosity, thoughtful observation, and the quiet belief that she should probably be in charge of something important. She is: Sweet and gentle Puppy-playful but not feral Vet checked Up to date on age-appropriate vaccines Cleared for transport Vivian will grow into a large dog with opinions, loyalty, and a strong desire to supervise her humans. She’ll do best in a home that understands that Pyr-type dogs are not Golden Retrievers in disguise — they’re thinkers, watchers, and professional boundary testers. If you want a puppy who will one day stare at coyotes like it’s a performance review, Vivian is your girl. Apply if you’re ready. She’s not waiting forever. — Gumbo Adoption Fee: $395 Currently located in Fosters, AL and can be transported North (VT or CT) to a foster or adopter! Interested in adopting? Story
Meet Charlie – Male Great Pyrenees Hi. Gumbo again. This is Charlie, and he is what we in the business call “a whole situation.” Charlie is a Great Pyrenees–type puppy (again, no claims of purebred — just strong Pyr vibes and future fluff). He’s friendly, curious, and already practicing his future role as a large dog who thinks he’s a lap puppy. He is: Social and affectionate Playful and confident Vet checked Up to date on age-appropriate vaccines Cleared for transport Charlie is going to be big. Like “why is this dog leaning on me” big. He’ll need a home that understands large-breed puppies, sets boundaries early, and doesn’t panic when their puppy grows faster than their expectations. If you want a loyal, goofy, future-farm-dog-or-couch-guardian, Charlie is ready to clock in. Apply now if you’re serious. — Gumbo Adoption Fee: $395 Currently located in Fosters, AL and can be transported North (VT or CT) to a foster or adopter! Interested in adopting? **Meet Grizzly!** Grizzly is a rugged and handsome Great Pyrenees with the heart of a warrior and the soul of a gentle giant. Story
&#226&#156&#168 Meet Iris – your future best friend! &#226&#156&#168 Iris is our sweet foster girl born around November 5th to an Amish breeder farm and we took over her care when she was 8 weeks old.  Often when puppies have not been sold at eight weeks, they will either euthanize them or offer them to a rescue to take.  We jumped at the trance to help three puppies that they no longer saw fit to keep.  They were not in tip top shape at all, but they are now. Iris arrived a little bit scared and shy, but she now is the happiest, most curious soul. She’s independent but loves being around her humans, always wanting to be part of the action.   here is what her adoring foster mom, Jennifer has to say about her  'Iris is so playful, a ton of fun and super cute.  She fits right into our household routine faster than we expected. Iris gets along wonderfully with all of our dogs and absolutely adores our 10-year-old son, making her a fantastic candidate for a family home. While she’s happy and well-behaved in her crate (she sleeps there overnight and does great when we leave the house). Iris definitely prefers lounging out in the house when you’re home—close to her people. She just wants to be where you are.   Iris would make an amazing family dog: loving, joyful, adaptable, and a total delight to have around. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful companion with a big heart, Iris might be your girl. &#226&#156&#168we expect her to reach 75 pounds as an adult.    Message us to learn more or to meet Iris!   Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at    Ccrnewengland@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 22, 2026, 12:11 pm
