Story
Meet Axl Rose Diva 🐾 — a 15 lb senior gentleman 👑 with strong opinions, excellent dog park leadership skills 🐶, and absolutely no interest in unnecessary drama 😌🚫 Axl originally came to us in 2023 and was adopted by a wonderful woman who absolutely adored him ❤️ Sadly, she recently passed away 💔, and her sister reached back out to us so we could make sure Axl was safe. Of course we welcomed him back immediately 🤗 Now this sweet little old man 🥹 is looking for a second chance at love 🏡❤️ Axl is an approximately 11 year old neutered Havanese mix 🐕 who is fully vaccinated 💉, microchipped, parasite-free ✅, and recently had a dental 🦷✨ His foster family describes him as easygoing, funny 😄, and very easy to live with 🛋️ He gets along well with other dogs 🐾 and apparently believes he is in charge of the neighborhood dog park 👑 Honestly, the other dogs seem to agree 😂 He loves car rides 🚗, enjoys adventures 🌲, and settles in nicely once he feels secure 💤 He can be a little standoffish with new people and unfamiliar situations at first 🤨, but he warms up with patience and understanding ❤️ He would do best with someone who respects that he likes to take things at his own pace 🐢 Axl can be possessive around food 🍖, so we recommend feeding separately from other pets. Other than that, he’s a pretty chill little guy 😎 who mostly wants a comfortable place to land 🏠 and people he can trust again ❤️ 💛 Axl qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors program, where approved adopters age 55+ can adopt senior pets for just a $5 donation 💵🐾 Adoptions are always free for veterans of the US Armed Services 🇺🇸 👧 We estimate Axl would do best with children over age 5. Story
We rescued Gigi from a distant shelter. The shelter person told us that she was maybe about 4-5 yrs old and very friendly. Great with dog buddy in her kennel. One shelter staff person said she didn't notice all the medical needs that Gigi has. Gigi was neglected matted and very dirty with bad smell. Dog friendly. When she went to our vet he told us she is older and that she needed dental and had some gum inflammation has lump on belly (need to remove & biopsy) not spayed and has double cataracts (vet did eye dye tests). Blood and urine tests shows no diabetes which can cause cataracts. No issues seen in test results. She was so smelly that the vet office shaved her body and bathed her. We already spent over $1000 for her vet care and many tests. Problem… it will cost over $3000 plus for her dental X-ray spay removal of lump biopsy and $10K for cataract surgery if we opt for this surgery. Vet gave her eye drops. She has poor vision but sees light and large objects. She is getting around fine at her foster home and on walks. She can manage going up and down stairs. We plan to try another drop that dissolves cataract for $150. Seen good results with other dog owners. Then will see a vision vet. Gigi is great with foster home's dog. Very easy going and sweet. She loves her food and does rollies. Can go up and down stairs to 2nd floor and jump up on sofa and bed. Does fine on walks. Did great going to foster home's work studio with her and did great with everyone. Greeted people. Walked around and very well behaved. Gigi is such a good girl. We have spent over $1000 so far on first exam eye blood & urine tests shave down/bath medications and all her vet care. Her vet costs will be in the high thousands for dental spay lump removal and eye care. If we have to do cataract eye surgery it will cost us $8000 - $10000. We hope the healthy foods eye vitamins and drops work to avoid the surgery. Donations are greatly needed and appreciated. Thank you. 🥰 https://www.furryfriendsrescue.org/donations 3/14/26 Foster Home Update: Gigi is a really remarkable little girl. I’m surprised by her everyday! She’s able to get around quite easily on her own despite the occasional light booping against my leg or a wall. She listens for my footsteps and able to follow me around. She’s quiet and easy going. Friendly with other dogs and everyone we meet on the street. I’m amazed by how easily she’s adapted to San Francisco streets. Her poor eyesight doesn’t seem to be slowing her down. She’s trusting cuddly and just likes to be nearby. She’s also an easy eater and house trained. All my friends and neighbors who’ve met her think she’s the sweetest.YouTube: https://youtu.be/mQwFiUOiwdAMay 12, 2026, 12:42 am

Adoption fee: $800 Meet the Money Puppies Born on February 10th to Mama Moolah, a petite Papillon mix, Rupee, Lira, and Franc are three of the six adorable “Money Puppies” who joined our rescue alongside the Popcorn puppies— who may even be their half-siblings! At about 10 weeks old, these fluffy boys are already proving to be valuable additions to their foster home. With their soft coats and playful personalities, we suspect Dad may have been a Havanese, giving them that extra dose of fluff and bounce.   Daily Routine: Well-Structured, Happy Puppies   The Money Puppies have settled into a routine that keeps them thriving. They sleep together in a cozy modified x-pen—about 2 by 4 feet wide— with a blanket draped over one end to create a snug sleeping area and a pee pad on the other side just in case. They love curling up together in their shared bed and sleep soundly through the night, with only the occasional brief whimper before settling back down on their own.   Their day typically begins around 7:30–8:00 AM, when they head straight outside to the backyard for potty time. They eagerly follow their foster like the Pied Piper, and they reliably take care of business once outside. Afterward, food and water are available, and the puppies enjoy grazing and playing together for about an hour.   Throughout the day, they are taken outside about every hour when someone is home. In between potty breaks, they happily play with toys in the room and then rest for stretches of up to three hours. Food is left out most of the day so they can graze as they grow.   In the evening, they have a final round of potty time and independent play between 6:00 and 9:00 PM, followed by interactive playtime with their foster family from 9:00 to 10:00 PM. By then, the puppies are ready to wind down, and they settle easily for the night. Their foster describes them as some of the easiest puppies they’ve ever cared for.   Lira — The Sweet Snuggler   Lira is easy to recognize by the soft white markings on her nose, a small blaze on her chest, and white tips on all four paws. She is the cuddle bug of the bunch and has a special talent for melting into your lap the moment you sit down.   Lira has a calm, go-with-the-flow personality and often takes cues from the others, happily joining in whatever the group is doing. She is also the resident foodie and an enthusiastic grazer who enjoys her meals just as much as her snuggle time. With her gentle nature and loving heart, Lira is the kind of puppy who makes every quiet moment feel extra cozy.   Rupee — The Playful Leader   Rupee has a slightly pointier nose, a small white blaze on her chest, and white tips on her back paws. She is the confident “queen bee” of the litter— the tallest of the group and always ready to lead the next adventure.   She is the most playful of the bunch and brings endless fun and silliness wherever she goes. Rupee is typically the first to follow her foster out to the backyard in the morning and the first to transition from potty time into playtime. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and she keeps the group energized and entertained.   Franc — The Curious Little Character   Franc is the smallest of the group but certainly holds his own. He has brown coloring on his ears, soft brown “eyebrows,” and tiny white hairs on his chest against his mostly black coat.   Franc is the observer of the group— curious, thoughtful, and always taking in the world around him. Once he builds up his courage, he jumps right into the fun and may even try to sneak in a playful pounce. He is also the most vocal of the trio, happily letting you know when he wants attention or when he has spotted a toy worth investigating.   Despite his playful energy, Franc is usually the first to fall asleep at night, often drifting off right on the hardwood floor without complaint.   Why the Money Puppies Are So Special   This litter truly offers something for everyone—playfulness, affection, curiosity, and companionship wrapped up in six fluffy packages. They are social, adaptable puppies who are already developing strong routines, good potty habits, and confidence in their daily lives.   Whether it’s Lira curling into your lap, Rupee leading the next round of play, or Franc quietly observing before joining the fun, each puppy brings their own personality to the group. Together, they make a lively, loving little family—and whichever one you choose, you’ll be making an investment in years of loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love.May 13, 2026, 10:46 am

Story
Kali was rescued from a local shelter that picked her up as a stray. She was neglected and had matted fur. Needs to eat healthy and get exercise to lose weight. Shelter staff think she is 3-4 yrs old. Playful. She is very friendly and sweet. Kali will be groomed and get healthy food at her foster home. More info and new photos to come. 3/11/26: Huge thanks to GoldenPawsGrooming for grooming Kali. She now looks super adorable. 3/22/26 Update from foster home: Kali is super sweet and always hungry and loves food. Kitchen is her chill-out zone in the hope she gets something to eat. She has lost some weight. I take her for walk twice a day. She chased away the cat that used to hang out in our yard. She barks at people who try to approach us but then surrenders when she feels they are not harmful. She is good with other dogs in the park. She can stand up and beg for treats. So cute. Update 5/2/26: Kali is now healthy with daily exercise she has lost some weight. She currently goes on 2 daily 1 mile walks enjoys the parks and loves to stand and beg for treats. She is more active now and enjoying a healthy life. She needs a home with yard and active guardian to continue her long walks and play time. Her recent video. In much better shape now. https://www.facebook.com/reel/2283115175555432YouTube: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1239398761347972May 12, 2026, 12:42 am
