Story
Benny and Theo are two sweet, scruffy Havanese mix brothers who came to rescue after the heartbreaking loss of their beloved owner. At an estimated two years old, these gentle boys are understandably a little unsure as they adjust to so much change — but their loving, affectionate nature shines through more each day. True to their Havanese roots, both Benny and Theo are people-oriented, gentle, and eager to bond. They enjoy affection, love being near their humans, and get along beautifully with other dogs. They especially find comfort and confidence in canine companionship and would thrive in a home with another friendly pup. With their soulful eyes, soft scruffy coats, and tender hearts, they are incredibly charming little companions. Though this transition hasn’t been easy, they are blossoming with patience and reassurance. With kindness and consistency, either boy will grow into a loyal, devoted best friend. Benny and Theo are neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations — and each is ready to begin his next chapter in a loving forever home. If you’re looking for a sweet, dog-friendly companion with a gentle heart and affectionate spirit, Benny or Theo may be the perfect addition to your family. 💛🐶

Adoption fee: $750 Meet Hoodwink, a 1–2 year old, 16 lb Havanese/Coton mix with a soft, non-shedding coat and a personality that sneaks right into your heart. She came to us from the shelter alongside her buddy Bamboozle, and from the very first moment in her foster home, Hoodwink proved she is exactly as charming as her name suggests. Fair warning: she will hoodwink you into extra treats, more couch time, and letting her sit on your lap forever.   Hoodwink adjusted to her foster home routine almost instantly. She starts her day between 7–8am with a trip to the backyard for a potty break, followed by breakfast and a morning walk. She enjoys three walks a day— morning, afternoon, and evening— and eats dinner right around 5pm. During the workday, she’s a model companion, happily curling up on her own bed next to her foster parents’ desks and napping while they work. That said, her true love is the couch. If you’re looking for her, odds are high she’s already claimed a prime spot on the sofa. Evenings are calm and cozy, with Hoodwink winding down around 8pm, soaking up pets and attention before heading to bed.   Personality-wise, Hoodwink skipped the “shy rescue dog” phase entirely. She trusted her foster family immediately and has been affectionate from day one. She is a certified cuddler, snuggler, and full-on Velcro dog. Being close to her people is her favorite thing, and she is happiest when she can see you, touch you, or ideally be cradled in your arms like a baby. She’ll happily melt into you and stay there as long as you’ll allow it. While she initially struggled when separated or placed in a pen or crate, she has already shown progress and is learning that short separations are okay. Her bond with her people is strong, and she thrives on reassurance, affection, and consistency.   Hoodwink is very friendly with humans and will often approach people to politely (or not-so-politely) request pets. She lives with an 8-year-old, 25 lb Cavachon foster sister and coexists beautifully— sharing the couch, sleeping nearby, and walking together. While there isn’t much active play between them due to the older dog’s mellow nature, Hoodwink will sometimes try to initiate play. One thing is certain: she does not want to be left out. If another dog is getting attention, Hoodwink will appear instantly to make sure she’s included.   She is more of a lounger than an athlete, though she does enjoy occasional play. On walks, Hoodwink is a pleasant surprise— she walks nicely on leash, doesn’t pull, and generally stays focused. She may pause to watch people pass by and can sometimes bark at strangers or feel nervous around certain dogs, choosing to hide behind her person for reassurance. With time and confidence-building, she should continue to improve.   Hoodwink is still working on house training. She does use pee pads and is making gradual progress with a consistent schedule and regular walks. She is otherwise very easy to care for and does not display destructive behaviors beyond chewing pee pads when anxious.   What truly sets Hoodwink apart is her boundless affection and gentle nature. She offers unlimited love, wants nothing more than to be close to her humans, and has an endearing habit of standing up on her back legs and even taking a few steps. She also does an adorable sploot that will absolutely make your day.   Hoodwink is the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart, then shamelessly hoodwink you into rearranging your life so there’s always room for her on the couch—and in your arms.February 10, 2026, 7:00 pm

Adoption fee: $750 If you’re looking for a dog who will absolutely bamboozle you… it will be with charm, cuddles, and those irresistible Havanese eyes.   Bamboozle is a 1–2 year old, 23-pound Havanese mix with a soft, non-shedding coat and a personality that is pure sunshine. He was rescued from the shelter alongside his sister, Hoodwink, and while his name may suggest mischief, the only trick he’s running is convincing you that you never needed personal space in the first place!   From the moment he arrived in his foster home, Bamboozle showed himself to be a happy-go-lucky, friendly boy. He warmed up quickly and has only grown more affectionate and devoted as he’s settled in. He is what we lovingly call a “velcro dog” — he follows his foster from room to room, happily supervising daily activities and making sure he doesn’t miss a single opportunity for connection. If you sit down, he’s nearby. If you move, he moves. If you’re wondering whether you’re alone… you’re not.   Bamboozle splits his downtime between the bed and the couch, and at night he sleeps right in bed, content and cozy. During the day, he rotates around the apartment depending on where his person is, always choosing proximity over privacy. He’s very people-oriented and thrives on companionship.   His daily routine currently includes three walks — one in the morning around 7–8am, another in the afternoon between 3–6pm, and a final stroll before bedtime. He eats around 9am and again around 7pm (though he’s flexible if dinner runs a little earlier or later). On leash, he is a total gentleman: no pulling, no lunging, no squirrel obsession. When he encounters other dogs, he may politely go in for a sniff, and occasionally he can be a bit shy and tuck himself behind his person. That said, he has also enjoyed playful backyard time with friends’ dogs and does well socially overall.   In his foster home, he lives with a small 12-pound dog. They occasionally play, but if given the choice, Bamboozle will choose his human every time. He’s playful and energetic, but his favorite activity is still being with his person. He’s friendly with other humans and generally well-adjusted, greeting the world with an upbeat, sweet demeanor.   He’s still working on housetraining. With consistency and structure, he should continue to improve. He doesn’t appear to chew when bored or display destructive behaviors. He may bark occasionally at people working outside or walking past, and sometimes when someone comes over, but he’s not an excessive barker.   What sets Bamboozle apart is his joyful spirit and genuine affection. He is loving, friendly, playful, and incredibly devoted. He doesn’t just want to be in your home — he wants to be in your orbit. And while his name might imply he’s up to something, the only thing he’s plotting is how to win your heart and secure the coziest spot in your bed. If you’re ready to be thoroughly, happily Bamboozled, he’s ready to meet you.February 11, 2026, 6:42 pm
