Story
Truffle is a Havanese puppy. He has such a fun, lively personality! He’s a curious little explorer who loves checking out every new nook and cranny—especially the tiniest ones. He’ll happily wiggle under cabinets, squeeze behind couches, and investigate any secret space he can find. He’s convinced the world is full of hidden treasure… and he plans to find all of it.
He comes eagerly when called and enjoys short cuddles before bouncing off to the next discovery. Truffle adores stuffed toys and small tennis balls, and while his attention span is adorably short (one toy is never enough!), he can still settle down with a good chew bone when it’s time to relax. He’s also not a fan of wet grass—he’ll brave it if he has to, but given the choice, he’d much rather stay cozy indoors.
Truffle is spirited, sweet, and full of puppy charm—always ready to investigate, play, and make you smile! He is an excellent little sleeper! He shares a cozy bed with his foster buddy inside an x pen set up near the kitchen. Once they settle in for the night, Truffle is out like a light and snoozes straight through.
Truffle is fine in a lively with a lot of coming and going. Truffle stays quiet and relaxed through all the commotion. He waits patiently until it’s time to get up, and then he with his version of a good morning: a quick cuddle before he’s ready to start exploring all over again.
Truffle is still learning the potty routine, but he’s making steady progress. He currently prefers using pee pads over going on the grass—understandable, since he’s not a big fan of anything wet! His cues can be a little trickier to spot, but with consistency and gentle guidance, he’s catching on. He’s a smart little pup who’s well on his way with continued practice and positive reinforcement. Truffle is a gentle, friendly little pup who loves people and enjoys cuddles—just not for long stretches. He’s much more excited to explore his world than stay parked on a lap, and his curiosity keeps him happily on the move.
He has great recall for such a young puppy though, and comes running when called and enjoys the attention. He also has wonderful social cues with other dogs. It doesn’t take much for him to understand when another pup needs space, and he’ll back off respectfully, making him a lovely playmate for dogs with all kinds of personalities.
Unlike many puppies, Truffle will happily chew on his toys over chewing on humans, which makes redirecting him during play especially easy. He’s sweet natured, curious, and always ready for his next little adventure.
He is food motivated, but he doesn’t resource guard. Truffle is still a young puppy, so he’s discovering the world one tiny adventure at a time. Because he’s early in his learning, it’s hard to say exactly how he’ll do with cats, kids, or longer walks just yet — but he hasn’t had any negative experiences so far. With patient exposure and positive, gentle guidance, he has every opportunity to grow into a confident, well rounded companion.
He’s a bright little explorer with a sweet heart, and he’s ready to keep learning, trying new things, and blossoming with a family who enjoys watching a puppy come into his own.

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:
✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.
✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).
✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.
The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.
Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.
Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.
