Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of Omaha. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 24 lives including Lolly & her siblings. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Lolly how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home. Lolly, her siblings & her friends were bought back to the WA state where she is now is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Lolly is so easy going & will melt your heart with those short little legs & the zest for life she has. But that being said she will take in her surroundings & watch the world go by. She is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little miss. We know she adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. She adores being kissed & hugged & is good with an outfit. She is still a baby & can get into puppy mischief. But she is a normal typical puppy. The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside. Lolly is a wonderful eater & is not shy about eating & has not been since the day we got her & rescued her. She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until she was rescued. She currently sleeps with some of the other babies we rescued along with her. We have tested her in a daycare environment with countless other dogs & she does well. She is such a fun puppy who just wants to be loved & to make up for her past. She loves everyone & is so very sweet. She plays with her rescue puppy friends who we rescued with her but then can do her own thing. She is wonderful with being bathed & groomed & good with the hairdryer. She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. She is a puppy & we have not taken her out anywhere. She still needs to learn her puppy manners. Lolly rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home & to & from the vets with us. But she does absolutely amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Lolly as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Lolly where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Lolly is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her. Lolly has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for her to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Lolly is roughly 11 lbs & she is 7 months old & ‭a havanese possibly‬. She has put on weight since being in the rescue. What she is mixed with we are not sure, female, she was spayed by laser by our wonderful vets, had a baby tooth extracted. She is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, bordatella, rabies & dewormed & will be spayed by laser by ASTR under contract. We have spent far more on Lolly with paying for her from a commercial breeder. Bringing her to WA with her travel costs, her transportation to WA. All of her medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Lolly has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had her around small children & she has done amazing but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Lolly was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Lolly’s friends & siblings she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Lolly potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Lolly & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Lolly who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Ivy. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Lolly has an adoption fee of $1585 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 4 lives of mums & a puppy, including Mercy being one of those mums. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Mercy how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home. Mercy & her friends were bought back to the WA state where she is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. When we were asked to help Mercy we were shown a picture of dogs living on concrete in a cage & there was other cages with different breeds of dogs in each cage. That was her whole life for the 4 years. We could tell she was not being fed well either because she would try to eat her poop. We had to teach her everything about being in a home & she has flourished now. She is the sweetest girl. So very easy going & a free spirit. Mercy always appears to be smiling & is always so happy & grateful. She loves both her foster mum & dad. She has been learning to go potty on material potty pads. She is not too fond of being outside for too long. At first she did not have a clue about anything at all but has picked up things very quickly in her devoted foster home. She gets along with all ages of dogs no matter what size or age. When we first got her we had to teach her to be in a loving home with dogs & be with them in a normal environment. She enjoys wearing a good outfit as we have put jumpers on her. She is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little lady. She really enjoys snuggling with you but it’s so sad as she is not used to be picked up apart from us & being in her foster home & she will dog paddle in the air. That’s a sign of not being picked up & held. At first she had no idea what it was to be held & loved but now she gets ready to stand up & receive love when it’s time to eat. The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside. Mercy is a wonderful eater & we know that she is obsessed with food with the amount of weight she has put on in her loving foster home with the good nutrition she is getting. She eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, grains & proteins & is on supplements. She gets bully sticks & collagen sticks & loves them. Well she is absolutely obsessed with them. She loves treats too & gets very excited when it’s treat time & will let you know she is excited. At first she had no clue what to do with treats. She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. She absolutely loves to sleep in the bed with you too & be apart of what you are doing. She will want to sleep with you or on a pile of fluffy blankets or dog bed with het friends. She is such a sweetheart who just wants to be loved & to make up for her past. She loves everyone & is so very sweet. She is accepting with being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer. She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. Mercy rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home & to & from the vets with us & her loving foster home. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for her to thrive in. She will not play with them but they bring her comfort. She is good with puppies & if they annoy her or get too unruly she will let them know. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. A fully fenced backyard is required if it’s a freestanding dwelling. Mercy is roughly 11 lbs & she is 4 years old & a havanese. She has put on 1.52 lbs since being in the rescue in her foster home. What she is mixed with we are not sure. Female, she is spayed by laser by laser & had a dental scale & polish & dental x-rays by us & had 5 teeth removed. She had 4 incisor minor molars & 2 minor molars removed. Unfortunately she did not do well at all going under as for 24 hours later she was still completely out of it. She is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHPP, bordatella, leptospirosis, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Mercy with getting her from a breeder & bringing her to WA with her travel costs, her transportation to WA. Story
Meet Buddy! This little fella came to us after being surrendered by his elderly owner. She got him as a puppy but realized having such a young and energetic dog is more than she could handle.  Buddy is now is a foster home and he is a hoot.  From his foster: Some would call me a land otter, but I am actually a walking loaf of fluff. I might be shy at first but once you get to know me I’m as mischievous and energetic as a 3 year old toddler but in a cuter way. I was told that I’m the smartest boi and I take pride in that. I learn tricks super fast but only if you’ve got those premium freeze-dried treats, cuz I ain’t an average kibbles guy.  I’m the protector of my hood and I take that seriously - barking at anything and anyone that even remotely seems like a threat. Just last week, I single-handedly defended my hood from the invasion of the evil vacuum. Tough battle I would say, but I came out on top. I pride myself with a healthy living style, some would say I’m the real life “that boy”. I’m all about 1-2 walks a day, lots of fresh air, pee breaks, and keeping my brain sharp with training and toy time, and occasionally I’d kill some time tearing up some cardboard boxes.  As for other dogs… meh. Those big ones don’t respect my personal space. I keep my distance—not because I’m scared, obviously. And dog parks? Yeah, they’re not my scene. I value my peace of mind. Buddy will be vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $525   We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Adonis is a charming Havanese puppy with a sweet, laid-back personality. He's the type of pup who adapts easily to any situation, making him a wonderful companion for families, couples, or anyone looking for a curious but calm little guy. Adonis is trauma-free, smart, and always eager to learn, especially when it comes to potty training. He's doing a great job learning that outside is the place to go, waking every 2.5 to 3 hours during the night to successfully head out for his potty breaks. Adonis is also a fantastic sleeper-he loves snuggling up with his humans on the bed and settles right in for a restful night. He's a joyful, easy-going pup who doesn't whine and enjoys a balance of curiosity and calmness. He's not overly energetic but has just the right amount of playfulness to keep things fun. Adonis gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is great with children, and sits well in the car, making him an excellent travel companion. He's food motivated, which makes training even easier, and his loving personality shines through in everything he does. He especially enjoys being with his people and his 9-year-old Havanese buddy, showing that he thrives in a home where he can bond with both humans and pets. If you're looking for a sweet, adaptable, and snuggly puppy who will fit seamlessly into your life, Adonis is ready to bring joy and cuddles to his forever home! * Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
Hermes is an adorable, tiny Havanese puppy who's already showing a perfect balance of independence and affection. He loves snuggling up with his humans, but he's also curious and quick to explore his surroundings. A fast learner, Hermes picked up potty training on the pee pad right away, with only one little accident. He's playful, energetic, and full of life, but like all babies, he enjoys plenty of naps to recharge. This little guy is fantastic with children and gets along well with other dogs and small animals, making him a wonderful addition to any family. He's particularly great with his foster's daughter, and their bond is already strong. Hermes sleeps cuddled up with his foster sibling, either inside an open crate or on a cozy bed just outside the crate. In addition to his playful side, Hermes loves car rides and sits quietly during trips. His adorable wobble and sweet demeanor only add to his charm, making him an irresistible companion. If you're looking for a curious, loving, and energetic puppy who's quick to learn and loves a good cuddle, Hermes is ready to find his forever family! * Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue.
