***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.
Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal.
The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 4 lives of mums & a puppy, including Mercy being one of those mums.
Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Mercy how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home.
Mercy & her friends were bought back to the WA state where she is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home.
When we were asked to help Mercy we were shown a picture of dogs living on concrete in a cage & there was other cages with different breeds of dogs in each cage. That was her whole life for the 4 years. We could tell she was not being fed well either because she would try to eat her poop. We had to teach her everything about being in a home & she has flourished now. She is the sweetest girl. So very easy going & a free spirit. Mercy always appears to be smiling & is always so happy & grateful.
She loves both her foster mum & dad.
She has been learning to go potty on material potty pads. She is not too fond of being outside for too long.
At first she did not have a clue about anything at all but has picked up things very quickly in her devoted foster home. She gets along with all ages of dogs no matter what size or age. When we first got her we had to teach her to be in a loving home with dogs & be with them in a normal environment.
She enjoys wearing a good outfit as we have put jumpers on her.
She is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little lady. She really enjoys snuggling with you but it’s so sad as she is not used to be picked up apart from us & being in her foster home & she will dog paddle in the air. That’s a sign of not being picked up & held. At first she had no idea what it was to be held & loved but now she gets ready to stand up & receive love when it’s time to eat.
The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside.
Mercy is a wonderful eater & we know that she is obsessed with food with the amount of weight she has put on in her loving foster home with the good nutrition she is getting. She eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, grains & proteins & is on supplements. She gets bully sticks & collagen sticks & loves them. Well she is absolutely obsessed with them. She loves treats too & gets very excited when it’s treat time & will let you know she is excited. At first she had no clue what to do with treats.
She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. She absolutely loves to sleep in the bed with you too & be apart of what you are doing. She will want to sleep with you or on a pile of fluffy blankets or dog bed with het friends.
She is such a sweetheart who just wants to be loved & to make up for her past. She loves everyone & is so very sweet. She is accepting with being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer.
She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash.
Mercy rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home & to & from the vets with us & her loving foster home. But she does absolutely amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Mercy as you can imagine spent the first part of her life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Mercy where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them.
Mercy is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her.
Mercy has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently in a loving foster home. She will be found snuggled up with her dog siblings. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for her to thrive in. She will not play with them but they bring her comfort. She is good with puppies & if they annoy her or get too unruly she will let them know. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. A fully fenced backyard is required if it’s a freestanding dwelling.
Mercy is roughly 11 lbs & she is 4 years old & a havanese. She has put on 1.52 lbs since being in the rescue in her foster home. What she is mixed with we are not sure. Female, she is spayed by laser by laser & had a dental scale & polish & dental x-rays by us & had 5 teeth removed. She had 4 incisor minor molars & 2 minor molars removed. Unfortunately she did not do well at all going under as for 24 hours later she was still completely out of it.
She is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHPP, bordatella, leptospirosis, rabies & dewormed.
We have spent far more on Mercy with getting her from a breeder & bringing her to WA with her travel costs, her transportation to WA. All of her medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering.
Mercy has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.
We were not there when Mercy was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Mercy’s friends
she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Mercy potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.
We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Mercy & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Mercy who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Mercy.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Mercy has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
