Story
Marnie is a recent mom who is now looking for that special forever home. She is a cautious girl who needs a little time to decide to engage with you. She must have a fenced yard, as she will not go to the bathroom while on a leash. We believe she may have suffered past trauma related to leashes, so walking on one is not currently an activity she can do. Marnie has perfect house manners and plays well with all her toys. She also gets along well with small dogs, though she has not yet been around big dogs or children under 10 years of age. She is a loving little dog who wants nothing more than to sit by your side and have you stroke her head for as long as you are willing. She loves being with her person but is not a shadow dog. She rides well in the car and is okay being left alone for short periods of time while she is fine with cats. (An adoption fee of $500 is required.) If you are interested in this dog, please go to the Adopt page of our website where you will find a link to an adoption application form. https://www.chewdogrescue.org/adopt If you have previously submitted an application form to CHEW, there is no need to reapply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations before being placed in their forever homes.

Talk about right time & right place. In an extremely busy well known park located on a busy road in China, Matt was found running around & on the road & was almost hit & killed. Our rescuer was there on a walk enjoying her day when she seen Matt almost get killed & hit by a car. She tried all over the park to see if anyone was missing Matt & searched & searched but no one come forward for him so they believe he was abandoned in the park. Now Matt is looking for a special family to cherish him & be patient with him & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all his needs. Matt was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Matt was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Our beautiful boy is not the boy we first rescued, his lovely personality has now come out & he is flourishing. Matt brings so much joy & peace. He is a very gentle patient little soul. He just wants you to love him & he will love you back. He adores being hugged & held because the reality is we are the first real people in his life to show him such true love & affection. He also can be found laying on his foster mums feet when she is sitting on the couch. When he finds people who love him they become his world. He is a very spirited & bouncy mini doodle love his foster mum & dad said he is just so lovely & can jump on the couch to cuddle either you. He is smart & can run up & down hardwood stairs. He will also want to cuddle in bed with you. He loves to run & play with his foster siblings & must go to a home with a young dog who will play with him & doesn’t mind him nudging him to play with him. Dogs are his world. He loves a good outfit & will get ready for you to put one on him. Matt eats a clean diet, meaning raw fruits, raw vegetables, 70 % raw proteins, grains, fats & supplements. He also enjoys collagen sticks & bully sticks. All of his treats are homemade. When we first rescued him he was thin, we have already put several pounds on this adorable little chap. Matt has been taught to walk on harness & leash & has been doing wonderful. He would need continued work walking on his harness & leash. Matt is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Matt adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming him, baths, the hairdryer he loves it all. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Matt & we have been excited to change his world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. He now loves his toys in his foster home. Matt has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. He is such an amazing, loving little lad. With Matt we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this boy. He does not like crates especially after everything he has been through. We are also looking for a forever home for Matt where someone is home during the day or Matt can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. Did we mention this boy loves a good outfit too. Matt is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding. Matt has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company in his loving foster home. He can be found at times snuggled up to his foster siblings. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Matt’s new forever home if it’s a free standing home. Matt is now roughly 22 lbs & almost 2 years old & possibly a havapoo & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is microchipped, up to date on his shots including DHLPP, rabies & dewormed. Once these shots expire we will not redo them except rabies as we will not over vaccinate our beloved dogs. We have spent over $2000 on Matt with bringing him to the US with his travel airfare paying for his medical care, including, shots, neuter microchip etc, than his adoption fee comes close to covering. Matt has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Matt with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Matt was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Matt’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Matt potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Matt & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Zoom followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Matt who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet boy. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. Matt has an adoption fee of $885 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Story
Clutch is the kind of dog that makes you feel like the luckiest person in the room, mostly because he's decided you're worth his attention, and he doesn't give that out freely. He's sharp as a tack, food motivated, and picks up training quickly. He knows what he wants and figures out how to get it, which in practice means he's highly trainable and also, occasionally, has escaped his pen. These two things are related. He's not being bad, he's just applying his skills broadly. He's got plenty of energy, but it burns off fast. Once he's had a good run around, he crashes hard. He's great with kids, easy with other dogs (though he has been known to casually steal a more interesting treat from a dog nearby, oops), and has his potty routine down. He'll use a pad when needed, but given the choice, he's a grass guy. Clutch is goofy, clever, and all heart once he's comfortable. We think clutch would fit best in a home with a little patience, lots of love to give, and most importantly, a good sense of humor. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Chassis is one very intelligent pup! He gets along well with other dogs & loves to steal their treat when he gets bored of his own. He is an adventurous and always sniffing around his new area before he starts exploring! He is spunky and loves getting his zoomies out in the grass and then enjoys a good rest! -----

Story
Baby Boy didn’t understand why the car stopped in front of the loud building with barking voices behind the walls. He sat in the back seat, tail thumping hopefully against the torn blanket beneath him. Every ride used to mean something good — a trip to the park, a cheeseburger shared through the drive-thru window, a warm hand scratching behind his ears. But this ride felt different. The man who brought him there wouldn’t look at him. His hands shook as he clipped Baby Boy’s leash onto his collar. “I’m sorry, buddy,” he whispered, his voice cracking like dry leaves. “I just can’t anymore.” Baby Boy wagged anyway. He always wagged. Inside the shelter in Fresno, the air smelled like bleach, nervous dogs, and loneliness. The workers were kind, but busy. They gave him a soft blanket, a metal bowl full of food, and a tag with his new name written in blue marker: BABY BOY At night, he curled into the corner of his kennel and listened to the rain tapping against the roof. Every time footsteps passed, his ears perked up. Every time someone stopped near his kennel, his tail swept wildly against the floor. Maybe they came for him. But every day, families walked by. Some wanted puppies. Some wanted tiny dogs they could carry in purses. Others smiled at Baby Boy but kept moving. Still, he waited. He waited with hopeful brown eyes and a heart too loyal to give up. Hes still waiting please email gurrsandpurrsyelm@gmail.com for a adoption application
