----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
Meet Inis, a sweet and timid little girl with a heart full of curiosity! While she’s still learning to trust, she loves being near her people and is making great progress with her potty training—just don’t forget to take her out frequently to establish the habit! Inis recently went on her first-ever walk and seemed to enjoy the adventure. She sleeps soundly through the night in her cozy round bed beside her foster’s bed. Though she’s a bit nervous about being picked up, with patience, she'll come to relax in your arms. She has some adorable quirks, like a unique low-pitched howl that she'll do from time to time. In the car, she’s a calm and quiet passenger, and she’s definitely food-motivated—so training will be fun and rewarding! With a little patience and love, Inis will make a wonderful companion for the right family. Could she be the perfect fit for your home?

Story
**Good with other dogs • Food motivated • Untested with cats and children** Meet Mille (also known as Millenaire, Millicent, or Hill Mille), the tiniest, sweetest, and most nervous little pup you’ll ever meet. While she’s still learning to trust, Mille is making brave strides every day. She’s becoming more comfortable approaching her foster family, especially when treats are involved, but she’s still cautious and needs a lot of patience and understanding. Mille tends to shake when there’s sudden movement or loud noises, and she can get frightened easily, but she’s slowly learning what love and comfort feel like. We’ve seen a positive change recently as her tail has started to lift, a sign that she’s becoming more confident and less fearful. She’s eating and drinking well and has been doing great with her potty training! Mille uses both potty pads and goes outside on the grass, although she still has occasional accidents. With some patience and redirection, she’s improving every day. Mille sleeps peacefully in her crate, which she prefers for safety and comfort. She has a cozy blanket and plush bed inside, and when her foster family steps out, she curls up and rests. She’s an independent girl and can be left alone without any separation anxiety. While she’s nervous around new people and still has sensitivities around her paws, Mille is never aggressive. She’s shown no signs of resource guarding and is very good with her foster dog sibling, even though she’s cautious about playtime. This sweet little girl is slowly opening up, eating treats from your hand with patience and thawing out her mistrust of humans. She may freeze up when she’s nervous, but with time, Mille is starting to trust more and more. Mille would do best in a calm, understanding home with a dog friend (perhaps a littermate or a familiar companion) to help her feel more comfortable and encourage her to come out of her shell. She’s tiny but mighty, and with the right environment, she’ll continue to blossom into the brave, loving dog we know she’s meant to be.

Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for some of the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. With beautiful Nebula she was used over & over again as a breeding machine & spent her life in a cage. These innocent souls lives were instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. She was one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 17 lives of mums, dads & puppies including Nebula. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Nebula how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home. Nebula & her friends were bought back to the WA state where she is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. This girl is a very special girl. We noticed instantly she is the guardian angel of the group. She watches to make sure nothing is happening to her friends, the other mums. It’s as if they are her babies. She has one of the nicest & sweetest personalities we have seen. She lets us pick her up & she is so sweet & innocent & such a lovely little lady & wants you to love her & be affectionate with her. She is so easy go with the flow type of personality. She absolutely adores her 2 friends she came with, another bichon & a Maltese. Everything is all so new to her & she is learning how she should have always been cherished. We also tested her in a daycare environment & she has done well in that environment. The reality is, the rescue is her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside. The fact too that no one can ever be cruel to her ever again. She was shaved down to the skin & we see the breeders do this when they are so very matted so it’s only beginning to grown back in. She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not ever get to experience ever until she was rescued. She currently sleeps with her friends who we rescued together. She loves everyone & is so very sweet. She is good with being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer. Believe it or not she just lets you do anything to her. She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. Since we have had her she has been taught to walk on a slip lead. Nebula rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home & to & from the vets with us. But she does absolutely amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Nebula as you can imagine spent her life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Nebula where someone is home during the day or she can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Nebula is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her. Nebula has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently with her friends she came with. She will be found snuggled up with them. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for her to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard if you have a freestanding home. Nebula is roughly 9.4 lbs & he is roughly 6 years old & ‭a bichon‬. What she is mixed with we are not sure. Female, she is spayed by laser by our wonderful vets, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHPP, bordatella, leptospirosis & rabies. She had a dental scale & polish & dental x-rays & had 1 tooth removed. She had 1 minor molar removed. We have spent far more on Nebula with getting her from a commercial breeder & cleaning up what he did to her. Bringing her to WA with her travel costs, her transportation to WA. All of her medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Nebula has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had her around small children & she adores them but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Nebula was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Nebula’s friends & siblings she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Nebula potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Nebula & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Nebula who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Nebula. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Nebula has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
