Story
I`m a big scaredy cat who needs some time and patience for me to come out of my shell. Once I`m comfortable though, I`m a wiggly and affectionate guy who loves to play!Loud noises and fast movements scare me, so I would do best in a quieter home without young children, though I may like to play with older kids (once I`m comfortable, of course). I`ll need to meet all members of the household before adoption, so I can get used to everyone. I`m still working on my leash skills, and while I`ve made great progress at the shelter, I`ll need my own fenced in yard where I can confidently go outside and do my business--or even play!I`ve lived with other dogs before, and while new dogs can make me nervous at first, I may be okay with a doggie friend after a slow introduction, so I`ll need to meet all other dogs in the household before adoption.

Story
I was a little nervous when I first came to the shelter, but I quickly warmed up and became a loving (if a bit aloof) girl. Like many huskies, I am a vocal girl and love to sing you the song of my people. We could even sing duets!I am a girl of distinguished taste and can be picky with my doggie friends. The staff noticed that I prefer dogs who respect my boundaries and recognize me as the diva I am. I`ll need to meet all other dogs in the household before adoption to make sure we`re compatible. Though I do have a high prey drive, so I wouldn`t be appropriate with small animals like small dogs and cats. My previous owner advised that I do best if I had a crate I can go to into when you leave. The shelter is happy to provide you with a crate to take home with you.

Story
Aspyn is a Husky-German Sheppard mix and is 2 years old. We bought her from a family when she was 9 weeks old. She has a great temperament, calm and eager for attention. She knows most basic obedience like sit, shake, stay, lay down, spin, and leave it. However, she cannot be off leash yet. She is not yet spayed as we were considering having puppies. We can spay her if needed. We are looking for a better fit home. It would be optimal for her to be in a cooler environment due to her breed. Thanks for considering.

Story
Courtesy posting: Diego is looking for a new home due to his owner losing their home. He is a 3 year old husky mix who loves females and kids. Due to past experiences, he is skiddish around men and big dogs (he does like small dogs - unknown with cats). Diego is playful, loves snuggles and walks great on a leash once his initial excitement wears off. He would be best with a patient female with or without kids who can slowly help him get over his fear of men.

Story
Introducing Jack Frost, the spirited Husky mix bursting with energy and affection! At 2 years old, Frost is a bundle of joy who thrives on love and attention. 🐾 He's a social butterfly, getting along with other large dogs. However, Frost would benefit from ongoing training to unleash his full potential and make him the confident and secure pup he deserves! 🎓 Jack Frost is an outdoor enthusiast who adores car rides and would make an ideal running or hiking companion. 🏞️ Regular walks or runs are his idea of heaven! He's a powerhouse when it comes to playtime, he needs a home with ample space to run and play freely. Highly intelligent and quick to learn, Jack Frost relishes mentally stimulating activities and treats. 🧠🎾 🌳💨 While he's a strong boy, he requires supervision around children and prefers a harness for walks, steering clear of tight collars. 🚷 Jack Frost's playful nature sometimes leads to overexcitement and "playful nips," requiring firm guidance from an alpha human to channel his competitive spirit positively. 🏅 Although he's great with larger dogs and older children, Frost may need some patience and training around smaller animals. 🐇 If you're seeking an energetic and loyal companion who's ready for adventure, Jack Frost could be your perfect match! ❄️🐾 ***Please reach out to Paula at spwheels1@gmail.com if you'd like to meet this special boy Jack Frost!

Story
HTH (Hank The Husky) was tied to the front gate of the rescue after we had closed for the day by his owner. So, we don't know why they didn't want to keep him anymore or any of his background information. He has been good with the females that he shares his kennel with ans pretty much ignores the boys in the kennels next to him. We don't know how he is with cats or small children as we don't have any of them here. We did get him fixed, vaccinated and will microchip him before he goes to his new home. PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Story
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Lil Hello, I'm Lil, a sweet pup with a tale of resilience and hope. Not long ago, I was wandering the vast desert with my siblings, unsure of what tomorrow might bring. But then, a kind-hearted team from Central Arizona Animal Rescue gave me a chance at a new life. I'm a young girl, just a little over a year old, and life's been quite the adventure so far. I've never really known the warmth of a home or the joy of a leisurely walk on a leash, but I'm eager to learn! With some yummy treats and your gentle encouragement, I'm sure to pick up all the house manners quickly. My brother Phil is my rock; where he leads, I follow. He's taught me it's okay to play and explore this big, exciting world. I've been spayed, vaccinated, and even microchipped, so I'm all set for our journey together. I might be a bit shy at first, especially around new furry friends, and while I haven't met any cats or small children yet, I promise to be gentle with older kids who understand that I need a little time to come out of my shell. Are you the patient, loving family I've been dreaming of? Let's find out together! E-mail mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment to meet me. Come visit me and let's start our forever friendship.   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Story
I was at a shelter and Bryce was scheduled to be euthanized that night. He is such a sweet dog and perhaps impulsively, I adopted him with the hope that I could find a home for him. Bryce is 7 years old. He is very calm, sweet and friendly and loves attention. I have had Bryce for a few months, and it really hurts to let him go, but I have 4 other dogs and it is too much for me to keep Bryce as well. Please help as Bryce is a good dog and deserves a good home.

Story
Chow chows are historically known for being guard dogs and livestock dogs, aloof to strangers and loyal to their family. While I`m a domesticated girl, my Chow chow traits shine through. I seem to be a well-behaved girl who keeps her room clean and walks politely on the leash, but like many chow chows, I have a stubborn streak and would still benefit with training in the home. In my previous home, I was a guardian for the older kids, staying by their side, though I will need to meet any children in the household to ensure I`m an appropriate fit. My fluffy fur will require some regular grooming like brushing, and if you`ve ever had a dog with a double coat, you`ll know your house will also need regular grooming with how much I can shed. The staff has noticed that I have a preferance for male dogs, wanting to play, while being stand-offish with the females. Either way I`ll need to meet all other dogs in the household before adoption. While the staff doesn`t know what experience I`ve had with cats, chow chows are known for their strong prey drives, so I may not be an appropriate fit for a feline friend.
