Story
Felix is a 2-year-old neutered Husky/Australian Cattle Dog mix who was rescued just hours before euthanasia in Roswell, NM—and he’s been making the most of his second chance ever since. He’s a smart, energetic, food-motivated boy who loves puzzle toys, running, and being part of the action. Felix thrives with structure and active owners who enjoy walks, hikes, or a big yard where he can stretch his legs. He knows basic commands (sit, down, wait) and is eager to learn more. Felix bonds deeply with his people and loves attention. He has done well with similarly sized or confident dogs but has a high prey drive and is not suitable for homes with cats, small dogs, or small animals. He is best suited for an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teens, as he can be sensitive to sudden movements. Felix is ready for a home that understands him and will give him the guidance, activity, and loyalty he deserves.Theresa Meyer ( Foster Mom)Friends of Roswell Animalshttps://forarescue.org

We received Canyon from a friend who found her. She is roughly 5 years old, and around 90-100 lbs. She tends to sleep during the day, and usually likes at least 1 walk per day. She's talkative like a typical husky and will talk when she wants something. She gets along well with cats and kids!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Pinta and her 3 siblings came into the shelter scared and unsure what was going on. Pinta still isn`t sure what`s happening, but she has made great strides during her time here. While she can be nervous with new people, once she`s familiar and comfortable, she is a playful and bouncy girl! She especially loves playing with other dogs, so we feel that having a doggie friend in her new home might help her feel comfortable and make her integration with her human friends smoother.

Story
Meet Shep, he came to the shelter as a stray, but he arrived with plenty of charm and those classic fun-loving husky traits! He’s a smart, playful boy who already knows his basic commands and is potty-trained. He loves to stay active and engaged, especially when toys and water are involved. One of Shep’s most endearing quirks is his adorable bunny hops when he gets excited it’s impossible not to smile watching him! He’s done well with other dogs at the shelter and enjoys social play with his canine friends.Shep is looking for a home that can keep up with his energetic, intelligent nature and give him plenty of enrichment, exercise, and love. If you’re ready for a fun, adventurous companion, Shep is your guy!

Story
Bella – 2½-Year-Old HuskyBella is a beautiful Husky with striking eyes, a big personality, and lots of energy. She's a true Velcro dog who loves being near her people (and has no concept of personal space!), but sometimes prefers to simply be close rather than cuddled. She's potty trained, kennel trained (up to 6-8 hours during the day), sleeps happily in her kennel or on the bed/couch and knows some commands. She does well with other dogs from daycare/boarding, enjoys car rides, and does well with professional grooming. She sheds a lot and needs daily exercise and mental stimulation.Bella has shown fear-based/resource guard biting in the past (a total of 3 times) and needs patient owners willing to continue positive reinforcement training. I think she will THRIVE in a family setting but she is not around kids due to me being a single male.I have had her since she was 6 weeks old and this is an incredibly difficult decision and I am heartbroken having to do this.Ask any questions!

This is Ginger. She is very loving and sweet, always wants cuddles. She is very playful, but knows when it’s time to relax. She needs a home with no other dogs, as she loves to be the queen of the palace. She will make you so happy. Loves to be in your lap so you’ll never be lonely. Excitable and sweet, shes always ready for an adventure. We are heartbroken to lose her. Our current dog doesn’t get along with her, and I don’t want to cause any more stress to either of them. This will be your absolute best friend if you’re ready to bring her home :,)

Story
Hello, unfortunately we need to rehome our 2 year old pure bred neutered male American Akita. He has recently became reactive around children and we cannot take the risk any longer. I will be vetting any potential new parents. He is a very good dog and very protective. Would make a great protector for a single person or a home with only adults. Once he gets to know you he is loving and will protect you with his life. We are trying to give him the best possible chance and unfortunately our home is no longer the best place for him. There is a $100 rehoming fee and I will want to make sure the new home will be a good fit. Prior experience with large dominant breeds is an absolute must and prior experience with Akitas would be awesome. He does well with female dogs but male dogs would not be advised around him.
