Story
Felix is a 2-year-old neutered Husky/Australian Cattle Dog mix who was rescued just hours before euthanasia in Roswell, NM—and he’s been making the most of his second chance ever since. He’s a smart, energetic, food-motivated boy who loves puzzle toys, running, and being part of the action. Felix thrives with structure and active owners who enjoy walks, hikes, or a big yard where he can stretch his legs. He knows basic commands (sit, down, wait) and is eager to learn more. Felix bonds deeply with his people and loves attention. He has done well with similarly sized or confident dogs but has a high prey drive and is not suitable for homes with cats, small dogs, or small animals. He is best suited for an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teens, as he can be sensitive to sudden movements. Felix is ready for a home that understands him and will give him the guidance, activity, and loyalty he deserves.Theresa Meyer ( Foster Mom)Friends of Roswell Animalshttps://forarescue.org

Story
Sprout is a high energy, lovable pup. He was born around April 2025. He is incredibly muscular and playful. He loves to play fetch and rough house with our other dog, Slate. He does dig and chew up toys, if left alone. He loves to play in water and runs around for hours. He's truly a sweet boy, but he needs more time and energy than we can provide. He is kennel trained and potty trained. He sits and waits for short periods of time, but is a bit impatient.

Story
Meet Shep, he came to the shelter as a stray, but he arrived with plenty of charm and those classic fun-loving husky traits! He’s a smart, playful boy who already knows his basic commands and is potty-trained. He loves to stay active and engaged, especially when toys and water are involved. One of Shep’s most endearing quirks is his adorable bunny hops when he gets excited it’s impossible not to smile watching him! He’s done well with other dogs at the shelter and enjoys social play with his canine friends.Shep is looking for a home that can keep up with his energetic, intelligent nature and give him plenty of enrichment, exercise, and love. If you’re ready for a fun, adventurous companion, Shep is your guy!

Story
Pinta came to us as part of a litter of severely traumatized puppies, and she spent six months here frozen in fear. But since she was placed in a foster home, she has made significant improvements every single day! Her foster family describes a dog who is playful, bouncy, and hungry for connection with the humans she trusts. She seeks them out for cuddles, gives little `woo-woos` when she wants to play, and some mornings they wake up with her sleeping curled up against them. She just needs patience and time to get there. She plays flawlessly with her foster family`s three high energy female Husky mixes. Leash walking is in progress - she will be working with a trainer soon, and her new home must be willing to continue that work with her. Here is what she has already figured out: fully potty trained, crate trained up to 4 hours, and surprisingly unbothered by vacuums, blow dryers, etc. She is not a nervous nelly across the board. Someone just didn`t treat her well, and she remembers. You may notice healed scarring on her back in photos. It is part of her story, and it is fully healed.Pinta needs a home with:Experience with shy/fearful dogsA confident, dog-social dog to help her build confidenceAdults only - she is not suited for a home with small childrenA patient human willing to meet her on her level - literally (squat or sit down and she is all over you)Someone committed to continuing her training journeyA note on men: Pinta is currently afraid of men and does best in a female-led or all-female household, or one where any men in the home are willing to move slowly and let her set the pace. She has so much love to give. She just needs the right person to show her the world is safe.

Story
Elsa is a friendly, fun-loving husky. She enjoys sitting with her owner and loves to be petted. She loves to go on walks, play fetch, and loves attention and showing affection. Elsa loves to go on walks but also knows how to relax at home. She gets along with other dogs and is friendly around children. We are unfortunately unable to care for Elsa as we inherited her from family and she requires more attention than we can provide due to our family and work commitments. If you feel you can provide a loving home for Elsa please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

This here is Enzo; he is the perfect dog you could ask for. He knows how to sit and shake and is very calm. He doesn't bark, except when he is playing, which, surprisingly for being a Husky, he is super quiet. He is very smart and loves to ride in the car and put his head out the window. He loves to leap and run! He loves people, so he needs attention. He is a very picky eater, so he loves healthier foods.
