Story
Meet Molly! Good golly Miss Molly is a beautiful 1 year old, 42 pound Husky blend who joined us recently from the Humane Society of Yuma. This gorgeous girl has incredible eyes, and a lot of energy! She is very excited to get out and go! She will be a great fit with an active family who likes to take her on excursions, such as hiking. Molly will need leash training. She can be ""mouthy"" and chew on her leash. At this time, she will do best as the only canine in your home due to her rough play style. Our amazing volunteers are working on some basic training with her. This gorgeous girl is looking for her forever home. She is residing at our adoption center, and is excited to meet you, anytime during regular adoption center business hours. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Aspyn is a Husky-German Sheppard mix and is 2 years old. We bought her from a family when she was 9 weeks old. She has a great temperament, calm and eager for attention. She knows most basic obedience like sit, shake, stay, lay down, spin, and leave it. However, she cannot be off leash yet. She is not yet spayed as we were considering having puppies. We can spay her if needed. We are looking for a better fit home. It would be optimal for her to be in a cooler environment due to her breed. Thanks for considering.

Story
She doesn’t love many treats, very picky haha. She loves so much, and really has the personality of a younger dog. She likes walks, and sun bathing. She is so good at home on her own, almost like a cat. Though we have (and she uses) the dog door, she can go all day (like a work day) without needing to go out. She does shed quite a bit. I always called her the neighborhood watch, the way she acts on the backyard. I’d love to see her go to a home with a large yard/a farm.

Story
This is Ghost. He is 2 years old and we adopted him from the Maricopa Animal Care and Control. We are currently looking for a new home for him because my husband and I both work full time, and we are no longer able to give him all the time and attention he deserves. We would love to see Ghost go to a home with yard access, and maybe have another doggy friend that could keep him company. Ghost loves being around people so much that it is hard for him to be alone, so it may be best if you are able to devote some time to him during the day. Ghost is a timid dog, but once he warms up he is a sweet, energetic, goofball. He loves head scratches, playing chase, being outside, and anything chicken. This was a very hard decision to make to re-home him, but we want what is best for him, and know he will thrive with a family that was more time and space for him.

Story
Kovo is a lovable dog. He is super affectionate. Good with kids. Recently he was gone for a span of 2 weeks and we went through all the ways to find a missing dog. We live in Phoenix, Arizona but somehow he ended in near Los Angeles, California. The family took great care of him. They had other dogs and they got along great! We went to get him day after and brought him home. In the process of trying to reintroduce him back with our two other dogs, he wasn’t getting along with them and attempted to attack them. We have to keep them separate. Since being back home he needs almost 100% supervision that we can’t give him due to work. We just want to find him a home where somebody will love him and can give him the attention he needs.

Story
I first met Roku in Dallas, Texas. He is a pure breed of Japanese Akita Inu. He was only three-month-old and just a little tiny pup. His birthday is Aug. 22, 2022. He is shy and sensitive but always super sweet and kind to me. Now he is about nine months old, and he never barked at me even once, never ran away once when I recall him. But when he is with me, when he's growing up now, I finally realize that maybe i am not the best owner for him, he deserves a better home and a happy doggy life with someone who can really spend a lot of time with him. There are some changes happening in my life and I will travel more frequently in the near future. It's really hard to make the decision but I hope the best for him and that he can be truly happy. The adoption fee there is setting a bar for selecting people who is financially stable and is serious about giving him a new home. But it's always negotiable, just reach out to me if you are an experienced dog owner. Thanks.
