Story
Lulu is a 7 month old husky malamute mix puppy. Lulu came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after being part of an accidental litter. On the previous property, Lulu was outdoors with her littermates, parents and a few other large breed dogs. Although they have not experienced a lot prior to their surrender to the Shelter, staff have observed that Lulu is very social and silly. She is eager to play and zoom around the Shelter yards. Lulu has met other dogs, even ones smaller than her, and has been playful and curious. A home with other dogs may be a fit with a meet and greet at the Shelter prior to adoption. There were kids in her previous home. A home without felines or small animals is recommended due to observed prey drive in her previous home. Lulu is looking to be someone’s adventure buddy. Could that be you? Lulu is available for preadoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
Sky is a four year old spayed female with a wonderful personality. She loves to play and snuggle. She walks well on leash and LOVES long walks. If you know Huskies, you know they love to be active. She and her sonare bonded and we are looking for a home for them together. They play well together and that helps burn off a lot of their energy.  Huskies make wonderful family pets, but like most of the working breeds, they do best in specific circumstances. We are looking for adopters who have experience with Huskies or other high drive, highly intelligent breeds (for ex:  Doberman, GSD, Belgian Mal, Cattle Dog, etc)  Sky, and her son, Chimuelo were owned by a family who loved them, but who's circumstances changed to the point where they are not able to give them the attention and care they need.  Luckily for them, they are such wonderful dogs that two neighbors stepped up to supplement the attention the family was able to give. Over time everyone realized the dogs would do best with a single home that could give them what they needed - a place and people to call their own.  The neighbors, Craig and Susan, would each love to take them, but they each have cats, and the dogs are not safe with cats.  These dogs were raised in a family with kids and love them.  Sky in particular loves getting pets from the kids at the park! We are helping Craig and Susan find the right home for this wonderful pair.  (The original owners have surrendered the dogs to them.)  You can fill out an application for either of them and it will apply to both dogs. Please note: Sky needs a home with no cats.Sky is ok with small childrenSky needs lots of exercisePrevious medical records are available for Sky.More information & application [ts=1782831608&src=aap]

Story
All of our foster dogs are kept in individual homes.  Go to our website Bayareasiberian.org to get the foster home contact if you do not see it in the bio. Daisy was found about 7 months ago. I have been taking care of her since and got her fixed and microchipped. I didn't want her to go to the shelter so i am keeping them until i find them new homes. She is an affectionate, friendly dog and loves being petted, walks, running around the yard. She is pals with Duke who will also be listed on this website. They get along very well. They both love eating peanut butter and chewing on rawhides. They love going to the dog park and running around off leash (as long as they are in an enclosed area. The are both very sweet dogs. This is a courtesy posting... please contact the foster home directly....
