Story
Meet Lily, an energetic, spayed female husky mix of 39 lbs, which is petite for a husky. Lily is very sweet and loving and enjoys being close to her people. She loves to be around people and children and enjoys a good belly rub whenever she can get one. She may be 9 years old but certainly doesn`t act her age. She loves to play with other dogs and has spirits of puppy-like play that just don`t fit with her actual age. Lily enjoys riding in the car and has good car-riding manners. She will let you know when she has to do her business and can sleep through the night without accidents. She likes to be in the house with her people and stays off furniture with an initial reminder. She walks nicely on leash and at playtime likes a good game of tug-of-war. Lily is extremely smart, very trainable, highly motivated with treats and already knows `sit` with hand signal, `down` and is working on `stay`. A backyard is recommended to play and run off energy. Lily would be a loving, playful addition to a family that can love her, use positive reinforcement to continue her training and give her a great life in a wonderful home.`Lily has enjoyed playing with dogs in the Shelter and has gone out on walks with them. A home with any resident dogs is likely a fit provided they meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not recommend Lily live in a home with cats or small animals due to some observed prey drive. A home with sturdy children is likely a fit but they are recommended to meet at the Shelter prior to adoption.Through April 30th – all dogs over 40 lbs have a ½ off adoption fee! Big dogs have lots of love to share so consider adding one to your family today!

With positive reinforcement training, Tina can learn many more tricks and commands. She is good with other dogs, but can play rough when she is excited to see them. Teeny-tina twinkle toes tina is an amazing dog who deserves an amazing home. Visit the shelter to bring this gorgeous, goofy girl to join your family.

Meet Opal! Opal came to the Shelter as a stray so we do not know much about her life before the Shelter. Since arrival, Opal has been noted by staff to be goofy and playful. This bubbly gal would thrive in a home where she gets above average mental and physical stimulation in the form of force free training and walks. Opal can be dog selective, which may be influenced by the stresses of being in the Shelter. A home as the only dog is recommended at this time to allow for Opal to be the apple of somebody’s eye and decompress from her time in the Shelter. We do not have any history of Opal with cats or small animals. A home with children may be a fit but children are recommended to be sturdy as Opal can be tactile in her efforts for attention. Opal is looking to be your adventure buddy to romp through the redwoods with!Through April 30th – all dogs over 40 lbs have a ½ off adoption fee! Story
Meet Havarti! When he arrived as a stray, Havarti was a bit reserved, so we weren`t sure what to expect, but it turns out he`s a SOCIAL SUPERSTAR!!. As a husky, he of course has some energy and needs exercise and a fairly active lifestyle, but that`s easy to provide because he`s quite adaptable - he has great communication skills with other dogs and is polite with them, he can stay calm in hectic environments, he does great for car rides, and he`s been gentle with young kids. He takes a minute to warm up to new people, but once he gets to know you, he loves to chill, cuddle, and soak up the petting! He loves getting out and about and is highly adaptable and flexible to whatever is going on. He may do well with another politely sociable dog, and/or a home with kids. Cats and other small pets may not be a great fit. If you`re in the market for a One in a Million angel dog, come and meet Harvarti!Through April 30th – all dogs over 40 lbs have a ½ off adoption fee! Story
Meet Jenna! Jenna has not experienced a normal amount of things in the world a typical dog her age has, but she is learning to trust more people so that she can show them her true rainbow of colors when out in public areas. When she is confortable in her space, she is the most loving and affectionate dog. She will need a loving and paitent adopter who will help her experience the world at her pace. She has been a little standofish with men, some loud noises and new areas but is gaining confidence while she waits for her forever home. Another dog would likely help give her confidence and show her there`s nothing to be afraid of! She enjoys meeting and spending time with other dogs that match her energy level. Her adopter should also anticipate housetraining, as she is still learning to adapt. Consider this lovely husky who has won the hearts of many staff members!

Story
Meet Chowder! This dog came to the Shelter as a stray underweight and not so sure of the world around him. With time and patience, Chowder has warmed up to staff and volunteers. Chowder has an affinity towards other dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident, well socialized dog. Chowder has met various large breed dogs at the Shelter and has enjoyed playing with them. A home with a playful, well socialized dog may help Chowder to learn that the world around him is not so scary. Any resident dogs should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Chowder with cats, small animals or kids. Chowder’s adopters are recommended to be patient with him in the transition while he learns life skills and manners and acclimates to the home.Through April 30th – all dogs over 40 lbs have a ½ off adoption fee!
