Story
Meet Tina Turner! Tina is the new client services foster at the Shelter! She has been at the Shelter since the end of December ’23 and would love to join her new family soon! She is a soft, goofy gal who LOVES life. She loves playing with her dog friends at the Shelter, going on sniffaris with volunteers and playing with toys. If you are looking for a dog to keep you smiling – Tina Turner is the one. Tina Turner prefers dog friends who will play a good game of chase and even some rough and tumble wrestling with her. A home with another similarly sized (or larger) dog may be a fit provided they meet at the Shelter prior to adopt to ensure that both dogs. Tina Turner is a smart cookie and already knows “sit”, “down” and “paw”. She would love to bond with her new guardians through positive reinforcement based training and continuing learning new things. Tina is treat and toy motivated so training will be a breeze! Tina Turner loves to play in the Shelter’s sandbox so she may make a great beach buddy. If you are looking for a dog that is simply the best, better than all the rest – come meet Tina Turner today!

Story
Meet Colby Jack! True to his name, this guy is mild and goes along with just about everything. Want to go for a walk? Colby Jack will join you. Want to snuggle up and binge watch Love is Blind? Colby Jack is there to listen to all your commentary. Heading to relax on a restaurant patio with friends? Social butterfly Colby Jack is ready to join in on the fun. Colby Jack has been a staff and volunteer favorite since arriving at the Shelter. Colby Jack recently spent two weeks in a foster home so we could learn more about him in a home environment. His foster reports: Colby Jack is an adorable dog. He loves to snuggle, is sweet, fun and super friendly with people and dogs. He is very energetic and enjoys long walks. He enjoys basking in the sun. When inside, he craves attention and, after some time, he calms down and lays on the couch. He was home alone while the foster family did some errands and relaxed on the couch during their 30 minute absence. Colby Jack sleeps through the whole night. He is still perfecting his house training but made great progress in foster. Adopters should plan to work with him through positive reinforcement based training to help him continue to pick up life skills and manners. Colby Jack is REALLY food motivated. Adopters should plan to manage the environment when food is around and/or when they are prepping food as sometimes, the food is a bit too tempting and Colby wants to join in in enjoying it. Adopters with a sense of humor and patience are key to helping Colby Jack to embrace that he can be a sous chef in training and does not need participate in every food planning and consuming activity, but instead will be rewarded for hanging while the humans do so. We do not have any history of Colby Jack with children but he may be a fit provided any adult guardians are overseeing interactions to set everyone up for success. Due to observed prey drive towards small animals (rabbits, mice, etc) and cats – a home without these is required for Colby Jack. The secret ingredient is always cheese. Consider adding Colby Jack to your family today!

Story
Meet Opal! Opal came to the Shelter as a stray so we do not know much about her life before the Shelter. Since arrival, Opal has been noted by staff to be goofy and playful. She has ben observed play-bowing at other dogs in the yard when she sees them. A home with a dog play pal may be a fit provided they meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. This bubbly gal would thrive in a home where she gets above average mental and physical stimulation in the form of force free training and walks. We do not have any history of Opal with cats or small animals. A home with children may be a fit but children are recommended to be sturdy as Opal can be tactile in her efforts for attention.

Story
Meet Lobo - The Spirited Senior Husky! About Me: Hey there! I`m Lobo, a 9-year-old neutered male with a heart for (senior) adventure. I`ve been at the shelter since 02/28/24, and thanks to the wonderful care from the clinic and animal care staff, I`ve bounced back from some minor injuries. Despite my age, I`ve got the spirit of a bright young man, and my zest for life is contagious!Loving Companion: I thrive on human companionship, and my love for life is apparent to everyone who meets me. I may be a bit older, but my enthusiasm for treats is unmatched! I`m ready to share my love and joy with the perfect family or a single owner.Ideal Home: Whether you`re a family (with or without another dog) or a single owner, I`m a great fit. I`m well-mannered and have received some training in my prior years, so you can expect a gentleman in the house. I`d love a home where regular exercise keeps me spry, positive reinforcement training builds our bond, and some quiet couch time is on the agenda. The Perfect Match: If you`re looking for a loyal and affectionate companion who`s experienced in the art of being a fantastic dog, I`m your guy! I`ve got the wisdom of age and the energy of a pup, making me the ideal addition to your home.Ready for Adoption: I`m searching for the perfect place to call home, and I`m ready to bring joy and love into your life. Meet Havarti! Havarti came to the Shelter as a stray so we do not know a lot about his life before now. This regal guy is independent and not immediately affectionate with new people. Adopters may anticipate that he will soften and bond with time and patience. Havarti’s ideal adopter would be an active individual who will meet his daily mental and physical needs. Havarti has met dogs at the Shelter and has shown that he may do best as the only pup. A home free of felines and small animals is recommended due to some prey drive.

Story
Meet Jenna! Jenna has not experienced a normal amount of things in the world a typical dog her age has, but she is learning to trust more people so that she can show them her true rainbow of colors when out in public areas. When she is confortable in her space, she is the most loving and affectionate dog. She will need a loving and paitent adopter who will help her experience the world at her pace. She has been a little standofish with men, some loud noises and new areas but is gaining confidence while she waits for her forever home. Another dog would likely help give her confidence and show her there`s nothing to be afraid of! She enjoys meeting and spending time with other dogs that match her energy level. Her adopter should also anticipate housetraining, as she is still learning to adapt. Consider this lovely husky who has won the hearts of many staff members!
