Spayed or Neutered,
Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $550 Raven is a 7-8 month old Husky mix who was surrendered to our rescue when her owners could no longer care for her. She's a super sweet gal who adores dogs and is good with kids! Here is the report from her foster home. Raven is definitely a lover - she was super exuberant when we first brought her home, and then slept the whole next day as she recovered from the travel. As she’s relaxed into the house she’s gotten more energetic and shows off a bit of the signature husky singing! She is a velcro dog, 100%. She’s intensely curious about everything you’re doing: loading the dishwasher, taking out the trash, getting in the shower, even trying to hop onto my laptop while I’m working, like a cat! She loves being spoken to and getting big belly rubs, and is a huge cuddler! Raven isn’t very food-motivated, and prefers to free-feed small amounts of food over the course of the day. She’s very clever, and knows that when people aren’t supervising her that she can try to escape or go find something to tear into pieces- typical Husky behavior!   Raven wakes up with us whenever we are up for work in the morning (roughly 8 am). She immediately goes outside for a potty break and is fed, although right now she prefers to free feed throughout the day. She goes out about a 45 minute walk in the afternoon and spends the rest of the day lounging on the couch, or playing with her toys. She eats in her crate, with the door open.   Raven has spurts of zoomies, loves climbing and discovering new toys. She’s only got a puppy’s attention span though. If she gets a good 20 - 30 minute walk in the day she’s happy to spend the rest of the evening on the couch with people.    Raven has gone on many walks including the beach! She does pull a little bit, but with a harness and some regular training, she has come a long way. She is interested in other dogs, but is non aggressive and does not bark at all.   Raven has had one or two accidents in the house while she was settling in, but has been consistent with housetraining ever since. She knows that she’s expected to be in her crate sometimes, but is not a big fan. She would benefit with more consistent good experiences with the crate.    Raven is so sweet and snuggly and will make such an incredible companion for an active family. She has the softest coat- it's like petting a cloud! Run and adopt this sweet, sweet girl!   Raven is only an option for a home that is dedicated to providing her with further training. She is best suited to a home with prior large breed dog experience, and Husky experience is a major plus. She is an option for kids over the age of 5.June 9, 2023, 10:35 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Kodi has it all, good looks, personality smarts, and charm, he's even a quiet and confident sort. If this was a dating site he'd surely be quite the catch! Let's get to the nitty gritty - Kodi is housetrained so won't go in the house, only outside. He has the winning combination of being great with dogs and people including, kids. He loves car rides, especially to the beach where he thrives, and frolics with other dogs. Kodi can walk off-leash with the right treats in your pocket because he's food motivated. Kodi walks well on a leash, doesn't pull, and greets dogs in a friendly manner. So to sum up, he's pretty near perfect and there's even more! Kodi is a medium-energy dog who will require a couple of good walks a day. Once he has that he's very relaxed at home. He doesn't chew and is well-mannered indoors. His ideal family would be active because he is a Husky after all. If the family loved the beach as much as he does that would be an added bonus but not a deal breaker. Kodi is independent, affectionate, clever, dignified, and playful. If you think you are the perfect person or family for Kodi, let us know about yourself. Kodi will bring so much joy to your life...before you know it, he will be napping at your feet. Courtesy posting that will include an application and home check. Approximately 5 years old and 60 pounds.

Story
I have had him from when he is a puppy, due to personnel reasons, I'm no longer able to take care of him and would love to found him a home where he gets the love and attention he deserves. He is very good with people and dogs, he loves to chase squirrels all day in the backyard, He knows a lot of commands and is home/potty trained as well. He loves to be outdoors but when at home he sleeps a lot.

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Three years old, neutered, and was a rescue; it takes some time for him to earn your trust; he is strong and sometimes pulls on leashes when walking. He has typical stubborn husky behavior; no cats or small animals, and no kids under 14, please, due to his mouthy and nipping behavior, and his bite is strong; sometimes you will bleed if you force him, so do not! Always ask for his permission before patting him, especially when he is lying down, which is the most vulnerable position for an outdoor animal like him during his earlier life when he was left outside 24/7 in the yard with a lack of socialization and human interaction. He can stay by himself for around 4 to 6 hours, but remember that Husky is a pack animal, which is not recommended for more than 2 hours. When leaving him alone, you need to lock him outside or create a safe zone for him inside the house; just like most huskies, they will start to be destructive and chew when bored. Generally, after three years old, they will begin to calm down. He was never crate trained, rides decent in the car, but makes lots of exciting noise! Trial adoption is recommended; feel free to see if he fits your family, I need to find him a good home, so I do not mind taking him back if things do not go well with the adoption.

Story
Axel is such a sweet, loving, energetic pup. He needs someone that is active and can spend a lot of time with him and training. He is crate trained, but that means he has a ton of energy at the end of the day. He deserves an owner that can spend more time with him.
