Our older male dog passed and our two females are physically fighting for pecking order. Husky is 4 years old, very sweet and submissive with people, stays home, good recall, great on a leash too. Will chase animals that run but is easy to call her off or stop her before she gets the idea. Does fine with male dogs. We have a human baby in the home and have exhausted our resources in trying to get these two to get along.

Meet PepperPepper is an 8-month-old Siberian Husky/Shepherd mix who is a diamond in the rough just waiting for someone to give her the opportunity to discover how much fun life can be.Pepper was surrendered because her owner was no longer able to keep her in their apartment complex. She is an indoor dog who is crate trained and housebroken, although she may have an occasional excited pee. Once she is comfortable in her environment, she can be left alone in her crate without issue. She comes when called, is dog friendly and cat friendly, and has done well with children.What Pepper really needs now is a chance to be a dog. She spent much of her previous life indoors with very little mental stimulation and was crated for a significant amount of her time. She is sweet and loving, but she is also an energetic young Husky mix who has a whole lot of life waiting to come out. She loves to run and would thrive with an active family who wants to take her along for adventures and give her plenty of opportunities to exercise her body and her mind.Think hiking, backpacking, agility, long walks, running, playing, learning tricks, or simply spending the day exploring and enjoying the world together. She has the energy and enthusiasm to make a wonderful adventure partner.Pepper can be a little nervous or anxious in new situations, likely because she simply hasn’t had much exposure to the world outside of what she knew. She may bark, whine, or jump up when meeting people because she is still learning how to navigate exciting situations. With patience, consistency, positive experiences, and confidence building, we believe she is going to blossom into a wonderful dog.Pepper isn’t looking for a family who expects a perfectly polished dog right out of the gate. She needs a dedicated family willing to invest in her, give her structure, let her run and play, and show her all the things she has been missing.She has so much potential, and underneath that young, energetic Husky exterior is a sweet girl who just needs someone to believe in her. She is sweet, playful, happy, social, and just genuinely a very good dog. She’s the kind of girl who seems to wake up every morning thinking, “What are we doing today?”Dog park? She’s in.Pet-friendly store? She’ll be greeting the entire staff.Restaurant patio? Obviously.Family vacation? She would like to know where she should pack her suitcase.But Tink Tink doesn’t need to be on the go 24/7. Once she settles into her home, she’s perfectly happy hanging out with her family. She bonds deeply with her people and, after she’s had some time to settle in — usually around three months — she is very content to stick around home and enjoy being with her family.She does great with kids and LOVES playing with male dogs. She is more neutral with female dogs and can be a bit of an alpha, so a fun, playful male dog would be her ideal canine roommate. She’s a dog-park fan and knows how to have a good time. She has never been around small dogs, and we don’t know how she feels about cats.Squirrels, however, have been placed firmly on her “must chase” list.Tink Tink is potty trained, knows her basic commands, loves to play fetch, enjoys belly rubs, and has excellent house manners. She can be left alone in the house without destroying anything or chewing up your belongings. She isn’t crate trained, but considering she can be trusted loose in the house, she seems to have a pretty strong case for not needing one.She could use some leash training, but otherwise, she’s a remarkably easy dog.Unfortunately, Tink Tink has been bounced around between shelters, despite being such a fun, social, loving girl. Her owner loved her dearly but ultimately could no longer afford to care for her.Now she needs someone who will give her the stability she deserves and let her finally settle in and be someone’s dog.She’s a family dog. A dog-park dog. A fetch dog. A couch dog. A restaurant dog. A vacation buddy. A professional people greeter.And yes, she’s carrying a little extra party weight — so a healthy weight-loss journey would be good for her. Think walks, adventures, and fewer snacks.
