Story
Hi I'm Lillith,I am a very sweet and kind girl. I am very shy and take a while to warm up to new people. I have developed bonds with our volunteers and have been such a good girl here at the shelter. I may take a while to warm up in a new home but when I do, I will be loyal and loving. I like older kids so a family with older kids would be a good fit for me. I like other dogs and love to play with them. A home with a confident dog would be welcome. Please Ask staff for a meet and greet !April 25, 2024, 6:09 pm

Story
Hi my name is Rain!I am the sweetest Husky and love all people and well mannered children! I love other dogs both big and small. I do think rabbits are pretty close to plushy toys so a home with NO rabbits is best. This interest/ prey drive may transfer to chickens so If you plan on bringing me home I will need to be trained with dedication around the chickens. I do fine with dog savvy cats but will chase cats who run. A home that is experienced in slow transitions would be ideal if bringing me into a home with cats; This way the cats will feel comfortable with me in their home and I will learn cat etiquette. I do need secure / taller fencing because I am a husky and I do Husky things like escape when given the opportunity. I'm Great with children, a first class snuggler, and a super fast learner! I just need someone to dedicate some time, love and lessons in life! Please drop by to visit with me, Id really love to show you how sweet and willing I am!!April 25, 2024, 6:09 pm

Story
Meet Xena (aka Mama Z). This sweet husky is loyal, friendly, well trained, and looking for the forever home she deserves. Xena is the easiest husky you will find. Huskies are an amazing breed but they require LOTS of exercise and always pose the risk of bolting. Not Xena. A leash walk around the neighborhood and a human to lie on the couch with and she is in heaven! She is well trained and good on and off leash (although we don't recommend off-leash walks until she gets comfortable with you). This sweet girls owner can no longer keep her so she has until the end of the month to find a new home or foster. Please help us make sure Xena never goes back to the shelter. The lucky family, or individual, that decides to give Xena a chance with get an amazing pet.

Story
I'm going to be real-Nyjah wears a leather jacket. He is too cool for his own good. His adventurous spirit requires good fences. Nyjah is a very loving dog.He is 10 years old. he has been a very special part of my family for 10 years but as I currently do not have a home, I need to find a loving place for him to be. He is a typical husky and will elope if there are not fences he likes a lot of love he does not like other big male dogs and he will hunt chickens.

Story
Shayba is a beautiful husky x looking for her special home. Her estimated bday is around 1/2021. She came to us at the end of 2021 and had a lump near her ankle. After testing, it is thought not to be cancerous and it hasn't grown in the year+ that we have had her. Her ankle doesn't slow this happy girl down...and Shayna is ready to find a home of her own. Here's what her fostermom has to say about this fun girl: Shayna is THE life of the party. Whether it is dogs or people she is ready to play. In her foster home she was assigned the role of teaching timid dogs how to party and has a 100 percent success rate at getting even the most shutdown dogs to enjoy life. Despite her ruff start found with mange walking the streets of Bakersfield, she looks at every person and place with love and an adventurous spirit. He coat has grown back nicely and her two different colored eyes get lots of attention. When Shayna is not playing with people or dogs she makes an excellent snuggle buddy and is happy to lay around with her crew. Or have a nice conversation, which led to her nickname “Roo Roo.” Shayna has a husky voice and will talk to you by “roo rooo roooing” which is hilarious and cute. Along with conversations she will let you know when it is breakfast or dinner time. Shayna is house trained, dog door trained, crate trained, and loves toys and play. If you would like to have a chat with Roo Roo please contact SIAR! Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$450 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us.We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
