Story
Cubby is a 6 year old male Husky who ended up here at the shelter due to his Husky antics and an unfortunate change in family dynamics have changed and his people are no longer able to care for him appropriately. He is looking for an owner who will keep him out of trouble (he likes to escape the yard whenever he is able), and doesn't like to be alone. He would prefer an owner who is active and likes to go on walks and adventures. Cubby has lived with female dogs and has done well, he also has lived with cats and children without issue. Cubby is housetrained but can be destructive if left alone outside of a secure kennel. We recommend a specific kennel style to keep him safe and out of trouble when his people aren't home. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (3 year rabies!), and is heartworm negative. His adoption fee is FREE and he is SO ready to leave the shelter. Please stop by the shelter to meet him, or call/email at 630-553-9256 or animalcontrol@Kendallcountyil.gov if you have questions.

Story
If you want to add a little unconditional love to your life...I am right here!! I’m an active, fun loving and sweet 1-2 year old little girl. I am in search of my forever family and home that will love me and make endless memories with me. I am the missing piece to completing your wonderful family. Investing your love into me will be so worth it!! I am good with older children and other dogs. I was rescued from an overcrowded rural shelter. Please add a lotta unconditional love, sloppy kisses, tail wags and endless happiness to your family and contact jbrescuerangers@yahoo.com for an adoption application and bring me home. I will come with the works (Spayed, up to date on everything, micro chipped, fecal, heart worm tested if age appropriate, heartworm, flea and tick prevented, a free vet visit and medical insurance). What more could a new family ask for? Love and Kisses, Ghost

Story
Hook is a big-hearted, affectionate boy who loves being close to his people. He leans his whole body into you when he wants attention, absolutely loves belly rubs, and is happiest when he has a soft, squeaky plush toy to carry around. He also enjoys playing fetch and tug-of-war and knows basic cues like sit and lay down. Hook is a smart, sensitive dog who finds the shelter environment overwhelming, so he’s currently on medication to help with kennel stress. Hook’s ideal home is a calm, structured environment where he can decompress, settle into a routine, and show his true personality. He will thrive with a confident, consistent, and experienced dog owner who enjoys building a bond through training and giving him clear guidance. In a previous home, Hook reportedly did better with men than women, and he will need a home without small children. He will benefit from continued work on leash manners and does best walking in a harness. He is good with cats. We have not yet tested him directly with other dogs. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who just needs the right environment to truly shine, Hook might be the one for you.

Mush is the kind of dog who enjoys doing his own thing, whether it’s lounging in the sun, sniffing around the yard, or quietly taking in the world around him. Mush is the perfect blend of calm companionship and quiet confidence. Story
Meet Bishop — the treat-powered, toy-obsessed introvert of your dreams. This socially awkward king prefers to do his own thing, thank you very much, and he’ll happily keep himself occupied like he has a full-time job (which, honestly, he kind of does). Give him a toy stash and a snack supply and he’s basically living his best life. Bishop isn’t the type to rush into social situations — he’s more of a “observe from a safe distance and pretend I’m invisible” kind of guy. But don’t let his odd vibe fool you. This dude is hilarious in the most unexpected ways, especially when he thinks no one is watching. Whether he’s quietly entertaining himself, trotting around with his favorite toy, or giving you those “got any treats?” eyes, he’s a whole personality.
