Story
Duke is a 7 year old male Husky mix who came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of his own. He is looking for a forever family to bring him home soon! Duke's previous family described him as being good with children, and that he gets along with other animals. We have found that to be true here at the shelter, as Duke did really well at our recent adoption event, meeting people of all ages and wanting nothing more than to get belly rubs and soak up all the attention. He has met dogs without issue, and has also taken a trip through our adoptable cat room and had no reaction to the kitties in the room. Duke walks nicely on the leash, and knows basic commands like "sit", "stay" and "down". While he hated riding in the back of our animal control van, he will hop right into a normal vehicle and seems to enjoy, or at least does well riding in the car. He also likes taking walks with our volunteers! Duke is larger than he appears in photos, and was 108 lbs at intake. A true northern breed, he is a heavy shedder. Duke's adoption fee is $150. He is looking forward to finding his forever home. Meet Aleyna!Aleyna is an 8-year-old, (we think) Pomsky with ALL the fluff! She`s stocky, not quite as tall as a Husky and definitely not as short as a Pomeranian, she`s somewhere perfectly in between.At 8 years old, Aleyna has decided she`s earned a quieter lifestyle. She would do best in a home without small children where she can relax, enjoy her people, and live life at her own pace.Aleyna gets along well with other dogs and would be happy to have a canine friend, but she`d probably prefer one who isn`t bouncing off the walls all day. That being said, she`s been pretty great at teaching some of our younger pups at ACC a thing or two about manners!She`s mature, sweet, fluffy, and past all that crazy puppy nonsense. Aleyna isn`t looking for a wild new adventure she`s looking for a comfortable home, and a family to love.

Meet Ghost. He’s being fostered in east TN. Out of state welcome for additional fee. We transport to the Greta lakes and northeast areas east areas. We use rescue riders for all our pet transport needs. Ghost had a home but unfortunately his owner could no longer care for him. He’s a really sweet pup. He loves attention and will come rest his head on your lap for petting and ear scratches. He gets along with most all other dogs big and small young or old. He is very playful and has lots of energy. He seems to be a husky mix. He has the curled husky tail and the coat of a medium coated husky but he also looks like he could be mixed with another breed. He’s not very big and only around 45 lbs. he’s a year old so he should not get much bigger. He probably will top out around 50-55 lbs. he is crate trained and house trained and walks well on a leash. He is a just a little shy when meeting new people and it doesn’t take long for him to warm up. He is one smart and sweet pup!
