Story
Togo is an approximately 1-2 year old male Husky who was brought to us after being dumped on a country road. He was later adopted to a home who has a senior female husky who was not fond of his boisterous play. He is looking for a home who has Husky experience and one whose dogs can tolerate his play behavior. He generally does well with other dogs. We are told he is good in the house and potty trained and crates well too. We do not recommend he goes to a home with small children. His adoption fee is $150 and includes his neuter, microchip, vaccinations and negative heartworm test. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov, or stop by during our open business hours to meet Togo.

Story
***THIS PET IS NOT AT A HOSPITAL LOCATION, BUT IN A FOSTER HOME. PLEASE EMAIL TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET HER!!!*** Meet Grizzly! AKA Clark Grizzwold (she is a girl of many nicknames already). Grizzly is a sweet and sassy, playful and vocal Husky mix who was brought to us after she was left behind at a local campground when a resident was moving. The neighbors took the three sisters in but had to find placement so we stepped in to help. They are approximately 8 months old, and are primarily Husky but we can't help but feel like there is something else there... maybe Pom? Aussie? we honestly don't have the slightest clue. BUT, what we do know is that Grizzly is a nice medium sized dog, typical husky coat and a tongue "blep" to die for. She is almost 100% potty trained, just needs some guidance and can't have complete run of the house yet if not supervised. She is crate trained and crates well when her foster is at work and over night. She gets along with all 6 of her foster moms dogs (from 40 lbs to 125 lbs, males and females). Grizzly is VOCAL. She is quiet in the crate but barks once she knows people are up and moving, if she needs something or if she is excited. It is not surprising because of her breed mix but we want everyone to be aware before adopting. She would be a great dog for outdoor adventures and dog friends. She and her sister are still in the same foster home, but we feel it is likely in their best interest to be separated due to possible lifelong sibling syndrome, unless someone was VERY committed to the two girls to go together. Their third sister is in a separate foster home already and doing great. Grizzly's adoption fee is $350 and includes her spay, vaccinations, microchip and fecal/heartworm testing. Please email helpsavepetsapps@gmail.com for more information or to set up a meet and greet.

Story
Meet Kal El! Male Husky/American Staffordshire Terrier Mix About 2 years old About 65lbs Hi, I’m Kal El but my friends call me Kal. I spent several months in the shelter and was overlooked for all those cute little dogs and puppies. I am looking for a Forever fa that loves me almost as much as I love them. I’ve been told that I’m a big DERP! I love to run and play and need a home that has a backyard for me to run. I’m a pretty quiet guy and don’t bark all that much, unless you are ignoring me and then I will “talk” to you like most Huskies to let you know I’d like attention. Since I was in the shelter and didn’t get much opportunity to stretch my legs, I’ve been known to have a need for speed and zoomies are my jam! I’m pretty strong on a leash and am learning not to pull…but there’s so much to explore, sometimes I forget. With continued training, I’m going to be a master of the leash in no time. When I chill out, I’m very cuddly and like affection. I know the sit command and will sit for a treat, most of the time, unless I get distract…SQUIRREL! I take treats very gently too! I like to play “tug” and I know when my mouth gets too close to your fingers and am gentle with my mouth. But don’t be fooled, I play a hard game of tug and won’t let you win just because you’re a human. I’m a “Superman” for sure and if you’re not a DC fan, you should also know that I’m absolutely “MARVELous”…see what I did there? Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. 🔥🔥Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details.🔥🔥 Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

Story
Hi there, my name is Maggie, and I am 7-year-old Siberian Husky. I'm quite the beauty with my all-white fur and striking ice-blue eyes! Im a nice medium size at 43lbs. My fur is all white with just a hint of tan and of course, I shed. Um, Huskys shed! I went to the Groomer one day and the Groomer said I was the best Husky she ever had. Well of course I was! I'm the best at everything! Plus, she made me really pretty! My Owner brought me to a local shelter when they couldn't take care of me anymore. One day a Treasured Animal Rescue Volunteer was walking through all the dog kennels and stopped at my kennel. She asked the AC worker about me. I left that day because my Rescuer said no pretty dog needs to behind bars. She needs to be in a home. So even though I'm in a foster home that's ok because I'm waiting for my new family to come meet me. Now, I'm in a foster home I have dogs & cats as my friends, and I do well with them. I am interested in the cats and like to sniff them, but I never chase them. My doggie friends and I play. I'm a good role model for the younger dogs. I like to play with puppies and I can keep up with the younger pups. Yes, even at 7 years old! Im pretty good on a leash. When I go on a walk, I dont pull. If youre looking for a walking buddy, I would LOVE to take walks with you! I know some basic commands and I really enjoy the company of humans. I just want to be with my humans and get lots of petting. I like to watch TV with my foster Mom. I let her choose the channels. Doesn't matter with me what show just as long as she rubs my belly! I am very good with kids. I've been around kids and I like when they pet me. I love when anyone pets me. I act silly. I roll over on my back for belly rubs. But watch out! That's where the Husky me comes out. I get vocal at that time. My talking to you might spook you but I'm telling you I like it. Because my Husky talking/vocalness might sound like a howl or growl I might spook small children so maybe children older than 8 or families who are used to the quirkiness of a Husky. My foster home has a fenced yard, and some areas are 4' and 6'. I don't try to jump over the fence. Why would I even try to jump a fence when I have it so good here? Maybe my next home will have a fenced yard. Not sure how I will do on a tie out. I'm a quiet girl. The only time I make any noise is when I have to alert you, I have to go do my business. First, I will do little circles around the door or in front of you and if that doesn't catch your attention then I will do a little woo woo. That's my signal "I gotta go!". This Lady is a true Lady! If you're looking for a middle-aged Lady who is well past her crazy puppy stage and yet has great energy and LOTs of love to give, then look no further! Ready to pick me?!? If so, please complete an adoption application and our journey begins. Love,Maggie Maggieis located in our foster home in Aurora. Story
Dama is an adorable paraplegic husky pup who is ready to find her forever home! Dama was our very first paraplegic SAYv. This gorgeous girl was rescued by an amazing family from Mexico. They saw this cute baby husky in a wooded area and couldn't leave her there to fend for herself. They got her vaccinated and ready to come to the U.S. Once here, the family searched around for a rescue to take her in... time was running out. When we saw her being shared, we were immediately drawn to Dama's story. Thankfully we had an amazing foster that agreed to step up to the challenge which allowed us to say YES. Dama has been getting the royal treatment in her current foster home. She loves her swim lessons and therapy sessions - they keep her limber and mobile. Dama came rolling into rescue like she was on fire. She is a gorgeous husky puppy girl who loves all people and animals. She is always down for a good play time and loves to tell you about her day. Dama would do best in a house with another playful dog. Even though she is in go mode a lot, she does love a good bone and chill time. Don't let her cart worry you, because she doesn't let it hold her back. She just needs her bladder expressed a few times a day to make sure it's empty. Then she's good to go! We know that having a paraplegic dog isn't the easiest thing in the world, but we promise, we will explain EVERYTHING and give you the support you need to allow this girl to fit into your family perfectly
