Story
Meet Brooklyn! Brooklyn is a 3 month old Siberian Husky mix who we saved from a Kentucky kill shelter. She came to us a couple weeks ago and her fosters absolutely loves her! Brooklyn is a very active pup, and because she is a working dog breed, she wants to be doing something! She is very focused so she is also eager to learn and looks to her fosters for direction. This breed really needs early positive training and socialization to be their best. They love being with their people and having a job to do! Brooklyn would be the perfect hiking or jogging partner! Since they love to be with their people, without proper attention or being alone too much, they can be diggers and chewers. She loves being outside playing and running around the yard. Puppies do need plenty of exercise to ensure that they don't get bored and can show their best behavior. Brooklyn is also very affectionate and loves to be on your lap or sitting next to you. She loves to play with her toys and chewing on her favorite bone and can do that calmly on her own, or right next to you. She is still a puppy so when he gets excited during play, she may nibble on your hands, but stops immediately when you say no or redirect her with a toy. She doesn't mind being in her crate, goes in calmly and sleeps through the night. She gets along great with other dogs and is in a foster home with a pup she met during her rescue. They have become very close and we would love to see her go to a home that she would have a puppy sibling! She also loves kids and and basically everyone she meets. She is mostly potty trained, but still has some accidents. If you show her where to go and are paying attention, she will be successful! Brooklyn is such a sweet playful pup and we don't think it will take long at all to find her forever family! If you think she would be a perfect fit for your family, fill out our adoption application here. https://www.coopersafeplace.org/application-page Brooklyn's adoption fee is $400

Look into my eyes and you’ll see, I’m the one you need.  I mean, come on, you gotta love my pretty blue peepers!  Besides my steely gaze, I’m sure to win over your heart with my mad snuggling skills.  Got an empty spot next to you? Great, I’m up for the challenge of being by your side.  My foster family calls me the bestest boy!  Being 4 years old, I’m past the rowdy puppy phase and a well mannered gentleman.  I’m crate and potty trained, walk well on a leash and am good in the car.  Got other furry friends or two legged little ones running around? Not a problem for me at all.  Apply to adopt me today and I’m sure to be your new best friend. Adoption fee is $200. He is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   September 23, 2023, 11:25 pm

Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 6 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Aurora! This gorgeous very soft and loving 5 year old, 59 pound Siberian Husky would love to curl up with you for a nap or a movie. Her superpowers include being great on a leash (unless a squirrel or rabbit speeds by), sitting on command and giving paw, loving all people (especially interested in meeting men) everywhere, getting along great with other dogs, and napping in a laundry basket. She panics in a crate, but is house trained and doesn't need it. When not at home, she does best in a separate room where she can look out a window (with a closed room so she doesn't bolt out the door!) Some of her favorite things are her KONGS (stuffed with pumpkin or chicken and frozen!), the occasional tennis ball and watching Paw Patrol or people watching through a glass door or window. If you have Husky experience and are looking for a beautiful and petite red fox, Aurora is your girl. Aurora is currently being fostered with three other dogs, and the resident Siberian Husky. Her adoption fee is $275.
