Story
Hey there, I'm Anouk, your friendly neighborhood Siberian Husky! At 5 years old  and about 65 pounds of floof, I like to think I bring a touch of Arctic charm wherever I go. One thing you'll notice about me right away is my chill personality. I'm all about that laid-back vibe, whether I'm lounging in the sun or trotting alongside you on our next adventure. My manners are top-notch; you won't catch me jumping on the sofa unless you give me the green light.  I'm proud to say I'm fully crate trained and housebroken, making me the paw-fect companion for any adventure or lazy day at home. I'm a social butterfly too, getting along famously with other dogs, kids, and even those mysterious creatures called cats.  So, if you're in the market for a furry friend who's polite, low-key, and always up for some quality cuddle time, look no further. I'm your gal, ready to bring some Husky happiness into your life!     All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   May 6, 2024, 10:24 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Mattie Mae! I am your typical husky mix between my love of running, and thriving on learning new things, and being given “jobs”. One of my favorite tricks is shaking your hand, and one of my favorite jobs is making sure any tiny fluffy things don’t mess with your garden. In my foster home I was around three tiny humans and all their friends from ages 2  to 14 and love them so much. I preferred the people over other dogs in my foster home. When it comes to eating, my foster mom would feed us in our crates and I really liked having that space to eat alone. I love the car. I actually ride in the car daily and I love adventures to the local coffee shops. Did I tell you I love showing off tricks? I have mastered ringing the bells when I need to potty and would love to show you sometime, and forever. human, thanks for stopping by!  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. Story
Just look at how beautiful I am!  I have a tender heart and a fabulous personality.  My foster mom says I do well with cats and other dogs.  People are my favorite!  I even made more friends at the vet!  I am potty trained and love to be outside, but not by myself!  I prefer to have a human with me.  I don't do well with yelling.  It makes me sad and i hide in my crate.  I am trained to go in my crate when my human goes bye bye.  I don't mind sleeping in there at night either.  I know how to sit and lay down.  I will whine when I have to go outside.  My favorite toy is a bone or a kong with penaut butter.  I do like to lay on nice warm laundry fresh out of the dryer!  It's one of my favorite things to do.  Occasionally I will steal a sock so you can chase me.  I worry about your health and exercise, that why I do that.  Thank you for checking me out and reading about how incredible I am! ##2014566##

Story
Meet Sophie! 2 year old Husky mix, spay female, 51lbs Meet Tuppi ❤️ Bully mix, born 3/20/23, spay female, 34lbs Since we have now had the chance to get to know Sophie, I can share what we have learned about her so far! She is a 2-3yr old Siberian Husky, we believe purebred, but we cannot be sure so we listed her as a mix. She is house and crate trained and knows a few extra things, such as, sit, shake and speak. She gets along with all the dogs in her foster home, they range from 6lbs – 75lbs. She isn’t what I would consider a submissive girl, she likes for everyone to follow her rules. A quick reminder that she isn’t the boss usually brings her back down to reality. She is your typical vocal husky, so make sure you are prepared for all the talking she will surely be doing. She also l.o.v.e.s car rides, she doesn’t care where you are going, she just wants to go along. She likes to be with her people and will make a fuss if she isn’t included in your activities. Sophie is one fun dog to be around, I know her family will soon see that as well! Sophie is current on vaccinations, heart worm tested, microchipped, and spay. Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 9 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
