She recently arrived in our care, and we’re enjoying watching her gentle, blossoming personality shine as she settles in.We’re still getting to know Stormy, so we aren’t quite sure yet how she feels about other dogs or children. Because of this, we kindly ask that all household members come along for the meet-and-greet to ensure it’s a perfect match for everyone. If you’re looking for a loving, mellow companion with a warm and tender spirit, Stormy may be the perfect girl for you. Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 10 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Virginia and Maine! This bonded pair came to us looking like skeletons. It was truly painful to look at them and we can only imagine the hell they lived through. Despite that, they are the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. They are either siblings or mother and daughter and you never find one without the other. They are extremely bonded and they must be adopted together. They are quiet, sweet, affectionate, and great with dogs. Unless they are letting you know that they have to go out, you barely know that they are in your house. They love to snuggle and will do just about anything for a treat including come, sit & shake! Once they started feeling better it brought tears to our eyes because they started to play. You can tell that they feel good now and they are really happy. We dressed them up in Christmas jammies and they absolutely loved it. They loved the attention and they were so proud of their jammies! They pranced around the house… tails going a mile a minute… You’ve never seen anything so cute. If you’re looking for two older dogs who are very low-key and very easy apply to adopt these girls today. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   December 1, 2025, 8:40 am

Story
Hi my name is Willow. I love my people very much. I enjoy snuggling and getting pets, and giving kisses. People compliment my smile all the time.  I can be very enthusiastic at times and hop around like the floor is on fire. I love chewing on my chew toys, shredding soft toys, and will sometimes throw a ball all by myself. I know commands like sit, down, leave it. I’m still working on place and stay. (Sometimes I’m just so excited I cannot contain myself!) I’m also a silly girl who’s sure to make you laugh! I have a variety of breeds, my mom says I have 14!  My top 3 are Siberian husky (yes, I have a lot of those behaviors), pit bull, and chihuahua!! My dad likes to joke and call me a “standard sized chihuahua”. My people love me so much, I know it will be hard for them when I go to a new place, but my sister and I just can’t get along. So in my new home I would prefer to be the only dog. Definitely no cats…they look too much like a chew toy.  I’m still a puppy at heart and can be a little jumpy, so probably no little kids either.  I will make someone’s GREAT companion and love you endlessly.  Did I mention I have a cute smile?   All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. Story
Ariya is gorgeous, smart and athletic. She’s a 10/10. This stunning husky is about 12 weeks old and husky thru and thru. She loves the snow, loves to learn and loves to go. That being said, she’s well-mannered and knows how to chill. She’s already learned “sit” and knows praise terms. She is crate trained and doing really well with leash and potty training. She’s playful, fun and affectionate. Shes great with dogs and cats (but will try to play with cats!). She’s good with kids as young as infant. Apply today to snap up this near perfect Husky.
