Story
Meet Nash! He was saved from a high-kill shelter in California and has been being fostered here in Michigan. He is 16 months old and a petite husky mix at only 42 lbs! He is neutered and UTD on vaccinations. We’ve been working on his potty training/crate training and he’s finally ready to go to his furever home! He is incredibly affectionate and sweet with humans as well as being good with other dogs. Cats are unknown but I can test him with them if necessary! Please message me if you’re interested in giving this handsome guy his second chance!

Story
Arctic is just stunning and those eyes so full of love. She is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 45 pounds. Arctic is such a cuddle bug, she is just so excited to be with you and touching you! She is all loose and wiggly too, she is a happy girl for sure. You need to be a little careful because she is right under foot, only wanting to be by you. This little sneakster also wants to crawl right up in your lap and is always hoping for a belly rub, her favorite thing. Arctic loves to play fetch with toys, then she brings them back to you with a nice release, and has a solid sit, what a good girl. She does need a little work on jumping up for attention, a basic manners course would be wonderful for her. She can also be a little fearful and looks to you for comfort. Arctic needs an experienced adopter who can provide leadership, which she is looking for and structure. Her new family should also understand the mental and physical needs of the working breeds. She will need an active home with a fenced in yard for her to have room to run and where any children are at least 8 years old. Artic will also need a home with no chickens, turkeys and such. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Arctic would love to meet them. She is a bit apprehensive at first, but with time did warm up with some play and kept checking in with her handler. She would really benefit from some positive dog to dog interactions, she seems insecure with them right now. If you are interested in Arctic and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
**In a foster home and not at the kennel** This handsome guy is about 6 years old and 70 pounds. Deuce had a DNA test completed. The results are in and he is a Siberian Husky and Boxer mix. We thought for sure some Akita would be in there but what do we know? Deuce is a typical large breed dog- slow moving, calm, and laid back with short playful bursts of energy. He loves people and other dogs. Deuce knows sit, down, high five, shake, wait, stay, off and leave it. He is fully house trained and is currently in foster with an older male and younger female dog. His favorite things to do include time with his people, hikes, car rides and playtime, especially with other dogs. Deuce needs a knowledgeable and active adopter who can keep him challenged and set limits. Deuce initially displayed some food guarding at the kennel. This is not apparent in his foster care. However, his adopter will need to continue working with him so that it does not resurface. He needs an adult only home. Deuce would love a fenced in yard to safely explore. *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*
