Story
Make sure you let us know you saw Kyan on Adopt-a-pet. The definition of best friend. Kyan "Ky" will follow you to the end of the earth if that's what you have planned. He's a ride or die pup with his humans, loves doggie friends, unknown cat behavior, gentle with kids, great walking partner, lap cuddler, movie buddy, office pal....he's got your back. Kyan is an escape artist, so someone that works from home, can take him to doggie day care, or has another dog in the home to keep him company would be the best fit for this pup. Please ask staff for more information on Mr. Houdini.

Story
**In a foster home and not at the kennel** This handsome guy is about 6 years old and 70 pounds. Deuce had a DNA test completed. The results are in and he is a Siberian Husky and Boxer mix. We thought for sure some Akita would be in there but what do we know? Deuce is a typical large breed dog- slow moving, calm, and laid back with short playful bursts of energy. He loves people and other dogs. Deuce knows sit, down, high five, shake, wait, stay, off and leave it. He is fully house trained and is currently in foster with an older male and younger female dog. His favorite things to do include time with his people, hikes, car rides and playtime, especially with other dogs. Deuce needs a knowledgeable and active adopter who can keep him challenged and set limits. Deuce initially displayed some food guarding at the kennel. This is not apparent in his foster care. However, his adopter will need to continue working with him so that it does not resurface. He needs an adult only home. Deuce would love a fenced in yard to safely explore. *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
Jelly is such a beauty! She is estimated to be about 8 months old and weighs 28 pounds. If you're looking for a fun-spirited, affectionate, and playful addition to your family, look no further than Jelly! This baby girl is a real sweetheart who loves to lean into you for cuddles. She has a playful husky vocalization that will make you fall in love with her more. She is very outgoing and loves to explore, so she needs an active home where she can run around and play to her heart's content. With her love of attention as her only goal is to be close to you, Jelly would love a family that likes to spend lots of time with her and where any children are at least 4 years old. She's a quick learner and already knows how to sit on command. If you're ready to give this sweet girl the loving home she deserves, please come and meet her! If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Jelly would love to meet them. She has a friendly, “all in” silly approach with other dogs, with cute play bows! She would make a good play partner for another dog. If you are interested in Jelly and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Meet Looie! This one-year-old husky/shepherd mix is 61 pounds of pouncing perfection! In addition to being one of the most handsome boys around, Looie is also one of the most lovable. He's got such an engaging personality and its impossible not to smile when you're with him. Always up for a good time, some of our volunteers recently took him for an outing. Looie enjoyed every second of his three-mile hike and played in the snow all he could. He's good on his leash and also did well riding in the car. He shared lots of hugs with our volunteers and finished his adventure with a nice pup cup before heading back to the kennel. Looie loves hanging in the yard with his fellow kennel mates and would make an excellent pal for another fun-loving pup. As he is still a young man, Looie will benefit from continued training and daily exercise in his new home. A yard for him to enjoy is a must for our spirited boy. Based on our evaluation, we feel Looie would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. He may have the capability to live with other dogs as he has done well with them here at the kennel. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! If you think he could be the pup you've been searching for, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your app for our lively Looie!
