Meet Arden From Barely Surviving to Her First Walk This is Arden, a 9-year-old mama whos learning that life doesnt have to hurt.Just weeks ago, she was rescued after giving birth to 8 puppies. She was found in critical condition with infected wounds that required emergency surgery and days of intensive hospital care. Her babies were bottle-fed around the clock while she fought to recover.Shes met other animals in her foster home, including the cat who has appointed himself the official welcome committee for every new foster, along with 3 other dogs. Shes figured out that couches are for sleeping on (not just looking at), and is slowly realizing that gentle hands mean good things.Her healing journey isnt finished, but shes already showing us who she really is: resilient, trusting, and ready for more.If youre looking for a dog who knows what matters and wont take a single good day for granted she might be your girl. Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners. Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside.We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog! She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times. She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds. She has been spayed. He clearly had some training before coming to us and already knows basic commands like sit, down, and shake. And currently only 35 lbs. I am a bit skinny and wolfing down the good food at my rescue to gain some weight. I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but once I decide you're ok you will find I am a pretty sweet gal. I like to meet people in a nice quiet place and that's when I shine.
