Story
Turtle is a sweet husky mix looking for a home that provides lots of cuddles. Turtle is roughly three years old, and was adopted after being found on the side of the road all by herself. She is house trained, leash trained, knows basic commands, and loves snuggles. Turtle's only obstacle is separation anxiety. With training and anti-anxiety medication, Turtle has made great strides. She needs a loving owner who has a lifestyle that is conducive to owning a pet with separation anxiety. That could mean someone who works from home or is retired, someone who is willing to hire a dog sitter or drop her off at daycare to limit her time alone, or someone who is active and takes her on runs. Turtle lives for her daily walks and belly rubs, and loves giving kisses. She is a gentle pup, but incredibly athletic when let off her leash at the park. With dedication, the right medication and patience, Turtle is an amazing pup.

Story
Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners. Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside. We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog! She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times. She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds. She has been spayed. Sassy lived with dozens of cats prior to being seized and taken to the shelter.Apply to foster Sassy and help her learn to trust people and gain confidence at ricopetrecovery.org

Story
Meet Lady, the Rescued 1 Yr Old Husky: Seeking a Loving HomeAre you ready to welcome Lady, the beautiful one-year-old husky into your life? Meet our sweet and curious girl who is looking for a patient and understanding family to call her own.Personality and Temperament: Lady is a bit shy and timid initially, but she's coming out of her shell and showing great promise. She has some endearing quirks that make her unique and lovable. Despite her initial reserve, she is incredibly curious about the world around her, always eager to explore and learn new things.Likes and Preferences: She absolutely adores spending time outdoors, whether it's going for walks or simply lounging in the fresh air, just keep some water handy. Her chew toys are her prized possessions, and she loves crunching on lots of ice to cool down during warm days. Indoors, you'll often find her nestled in a cozy corner surrounded by pillows, enjoying her own space and quiet time.Affection and Interaction: While Lady may not be the most demonstrative in terms of affection, she does enjoy gentle pats, mostly on her neck and sides, and being loved on for a little while. She appreciates her personal space and prefers interactions on her own terms, which makes her ideal for someone who understands her need for independence and respects her boundaries.Ideal Home: We are looking for a patient and loving family who can provide a calm and nurturing environment for our husky. A fenced yard where she can safely explore and play would be perfect for her adventurous spirit. Understanding her need for space and allowing her to gradually build trust and confidence will be key to forming a strong bond with her.Health and Care: She has been rescued and is in perfect health! Regular exercise, mental stimulation, and a nutritious diet will ensure she thrives in her new home. Like all huskies, she benefits from a consistent routine and gentle training to help her continue to blossom into a confident companion. Conclusion: If you are ready to open your heart and home to a charming husky who is full of potential, we believe she could be the perfect match for you. Her curious nature and unique personality will bring joy and adventure to your life. Come meet her and see if you can be the one to provide her with the loving forever home she deserves. For more information or to arrange a meeting, please contact Rico Adoption. Story
Meet Alakai! This handsome guy has spent far too long in the shelter and is more than ready to find his furever family. When Alakai entered the shelter, he was very nervous and took some time to come around to the staff. But once he's warmed up to you, he's your best friend! Because of his nervous tendencies, Alakai can be a flight risk and will require a securely fenced yard. He has gained quite a bit of confidence since coming to the shelter, and has shown a love for the active adventure-dog lifestyle and is a big fan of hiking! Alakia would do best as the only dog in the home as we have witness some resource guarding while he is with other furry friends. Alakai needs a home with low traffic and no kids as he is fearful of strangers and takes time to warm up. If you are interested in meeting Alakai, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 48.25 Age: 1yrs 10mths 2wks

Story
Clifford is mostly Chow. He weighs around 60 pounds and we estimate he is around 2 years old. He was dumped on the side of a rural road with a litter of puppies and was rescued by good Samaritans. Clifford is a super wonderful dog. He is sweet, gentle, and good-natured. He especially loves puppies and gentle children. We do not know how he would do with cats. Clifford is a very good boy. He is crate-trained, sits on command, and walks well on a leash. Texas is extremely hot, and Clifford is happy to be in his crate inside the air-conditioned house. We are working on housetraining and he could probably use other gentle obedience training. Clifford rides well in a vehicle but is a bit nervous about getting into the vehicle. He is shy with new people (especially men) and takes some time to trust. Clifford is sensitive and scared of mean voices, rough treatment, and dogs that are mean to him. We are sure he was not treated well by whoever had him before. Clifford needs to be treated gently so he will trust you. Once he trusts you or another dog, he becomes happy and playful. Clifford deserves a wonderful home. He must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and have a fenced yard to run and play. Clifford is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Clifford has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-free. He gets monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Clifford is ready to change his zip code. He is located in Texas but can be transported after he is adopted. Clifford's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to several stops in Ohio, including but not limited to, Cincinnati, Columbus, or Akron.
