Story
MAX 2 💙 Fostered in Schomberg, ON From his foster mama: From the moment I saw Max, I knew he needed to make his way to Canada to find his forever family. Max is a 1 yr old male husky. He weighs aprox. 45lbs( and needs to gain more weight). Beautiful, sweet, blue eyed Max came here from Cairo, Egypt, 5 weeks ago. Max was friendly with us from the start and was good with our 3 dogs, but very reserved. Max spent alot of time sleeping, the first few weeks and whined if outside walking for too long. He preferred to be in the house, near people and the other dogs, where he felt safe. As Max gained some weight( he was extremely thin), got his strength back and started to trust us, we started to see more of his personality. He is very much a husky! He howls when he is happy to see you, he is intelligent(a very fast learner)and playful. He knows sit, stay( though he’s still selective with that), leave it, and walks pretty good on a leash(though still can pull, as huskies tend to do) so we keep working on this. He is getting better at not bolting out of the house and learning to stay, until we say he can exit the house( still needs work with this as, he can get excited with the other dogs and forget) Max is always on a leash outside and never outside on his own( he can slip his harness and his collar). While inside, he is also on a leash, attached to me, and this is most of the day while I am home. This keeps him from getting into something he shouldn’t and learn the rules better, etc. Max is very good with just chilling in the kitchen while I putter, or laying by the couch while I watch TV. Max is being crate trained and though he hated it for the first few weeks, he is doing very well adjusting to it. He has stopped whining at night and is good throughout the whole night. The past 2 days he has started going into the crate on his own and having a sleep with the door open. He still needs coaxing to go in at other times, with a treat. Max s crated when no one is home and through out the day, periodically wen we are. Max would do well in a house as the only dog, or a house with another dog, but it should be a female dog , unless your male is very docile and submissive. Max was quick to bond with my females but he and my male dog are hot and cold. The more comfortable Max gets, the more he tries to challenge the male. Max being on Leash helps a lot to avoid any issues. Max is great with children, but sometimes jumps up on young children due to excitement. Though he gets better every day. Max will bond well with his people and is very content to be nearby relaxing l. He will make a wonderful, loyal companion to anyone willing to take the time, to continue proper training, to help him be the best dog be can be. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.SKIPPER hails from Fort Hope and came down south with his mum, Ocean and 5 siblings when he was just 3 days old. He’s had 2 sets of vaccines and is microchipped. He’s such a handsome, fun, active and sweet puppy who loves to play, run and wrestle like crazy with his sibling and the other dogs in his foster home. He has the most loving and gentle nature and loves to snuggle with you and give kisses. He has a very unique look about him and has the Husky mask just like his mum. In all likelihood his dad was a shepherd as he’s starting to look more and more like one as he gets older. His predicted weight is merely a guess due to not knowing his dad’s size but his mum was about 50lbs so not really a big dog.  SKIPPER is crate trained and sleeps through the night in it. He sleeps on a blanket with his stuffie and he has his crate completely covered. He will also lay in there during the day and just chill out as he knows it’s his safe place. He also loves to sleep on his bed and nap on there too. He’s working on his housetraining but he’s not quite old enough to let you know he needs to go outside for the bathroom. He does get walked often so he has had very few accidents in the house as that’s the time he will go to the bathroom. It was noticed that when SKIPPER and his litter started on kibble at about 6 weeks of age, he would always regurgitate his food and then eat ut and be able to keep it down. At his 8 week vet check-up he had a chest X-ray done because of this and at this time he was diagnosed with Primary Megaesophagus. It has been successfully corrected with surgery he had at the Guelph Veterinary Clinic on May 15th. He was just about 4 months old when he had the surgery and we were told it was a good age to get it done for him. He’s now doing great and expected to live a full, healthy, happy life just like any other dog. He is not and has not been on any medications at all and has no lasting effects of his previous condition. Saying that though, he will get a bit raspy/honky after playing too hard. Before his surgery he was fed “puppy smoothies” which meant his kibble was put in a Magic Bullet and blended with water to make it more palatable for him. His foster is still giving him them as it’s still early days after surgery but eventually he should be able to have normal kibble. Saying that, he does eat kibble when it’s just thrown on the deck for him as a snack and he keeps it down no problem. He does eat from a raised dog bowl stand as before his surgery, it was recommended he eat that way and he had continued to eat from it.  We encourage you to Google what ailed him for a full understanding of what it was he had and how it was corrected for him. We do encourage you to discuss all of this with your vet as well and all of his medical records are available for you to share with your vet for a full understanding of what he was diagnosed with and how it was corrected. These records can be emailed to your vets office upon adoption. He has not met a cat but seeing as he’s a puppy we feel with proper introductions they should become good friends, especially if the cat us dog savvy. SKIPPER has always been walked on a harness so as not to put pressure on his neck and throat and seeing as he just had his surgery a short time ago, he’s still walked on one. He loves the outdoors and going on his big walks and hikes in the woods. He would love to be with a busy, active family that can give him the exercise he needs so he’ll stay a healthy young puppy. He loves to play with toys, stuffies, sticks and just about anything else he can find to run around the yard with. Due to this we are recommending a fenced yard for him so he can be the energetic young puppy that he loves to be and it will keep him safe. Children 6 and up are recommended for him just like all our puppies as he can get very playful and there’s a good chance he could knock young children over. As with all of our puppies, we do require you to get them obedience training to help them be the best they can be. We also need you to be in agreement with having him neutered at 6 months of age as part of the adoption agreement.  If SKIPPER sounds like the type of guy who’ll fit in with you and your family, then please put in an adoption application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 8, 2023, 4:18 pm

Story
Ash is very vocal and active, and will require a family who loves going for walks and hikes every day. She is good with other dogs of all sizes. Ash can sometimes be jumpy and mouthy when meeting new people, and for this reason she will not be suitable for a home with small children. Once she is calm and comfortable she likes to be pet. Ash is very uncomfortable with nail trims and going to the vet, and will require muzzled visits. https://www.dogtales.ca/ash
