Story
Juneau is a spunky lady who doesn’t act her age at all! She’s bouncy, active, and will be very vocal when she wants your attention. She truly has the cutest “aawwwoo”. It melts our hearts every time we hear it! Her beautiful blue eyes draw everyone in. Juneau is so friendly and gentle with all people, especially small children. Unfortunately, Juneau was surrendered to us after her furry sibling passed away. She became quite anxious and was having accidents in the house, so her family did not want her anymore. Juneau was extremely underweight when she came to us, and is now slowly gaining weight. Juneau is looking for a family who is home often as she has separation anxiety and will cry if left alone for long periods of time. Her family will need to be patient and be willing to work on her house training and accidents. She would do best in a home with no other dogs or cats.

Story
Luna is a chill but spunky senior girl. She was surrendered to us due to some medical complications that have since been resolved. She likes to bask in the sun, and also enjoys relaxing in the snow. She truly loves to be outside enjoying the fresh air. Luna is a vocal girl who likes to howl and "talk" to her people. She makes us laugh every day with her bossy quirks .Luna is looking for a quiet home. She can be protective of her space occasionally, and will need time to slowly warm up to new people. Luna's family would need to come to Dog Tales for frequent visits before bringing her home, in order to help her transition to her new family. An experienced adopter with no dogs or children is Luna's ideal family.

Story
Tequila was surrendered to us after living her entire life chained in a garage. At the beginning she was very difficult for handling, but once she trusted our team we saw a whole different side of her. Tequila is goofy, loves to run in the snow during winter, and in our pond during the summer. She will do just about anything for a treat! Tequila has learned how to accept and enjoy affection from her people. Her progress is a beautiful thing to be able to witness, and we are so proud of the sweet girl she has become.Sadly, a few months ago Tequila had her first seizure. Due to her age and history our vet believes she most likely has a brain tumour. She has been on medication to help with this, and we have seen her continue to live happily and comfortably. This condition requires a lot of supervision and monitoring. Eventually, her condition will be palliative, and will only worsen with time. We are thankful that Tequila has proven herself to be one tough lady so far.Tequila’s ideal home would be an adult-only, experienced home due to her bite history, touch sensitivity, and stranger reactivity. She may be good in another home depending on the situation.

Story
Yogi is an active, outgoing husky mix. This one-year-old boy gets along well with most dogs and enjoys roughhousing with them. He loves playing with toys, especially tug-of-war with other dogs or his humans. Fetch is not his thing; he would much rather be chased. When not playing, Yogi is an affectionate boy who loves to give kisses. Yogi has been through obedience training and knows basic commands such as sit and down. He will work for treats! Yogi is working on his leash manners and does better with a transitional lead or halter rather than a regular collar. He is both house and crate-trained. As a husky cross, Yogi is very vocal and will sing along with huskies on YouTube videos and will let you know what his thoughts are by vocalizing. He is not a big barker unless a stranger approaches the house. Yogi has an advanced prey drive so he would be better in a home without any cats or other small animals. He came from a loving home but kept chasing the homes existing cats. Despite training, the situation couldnt be corrected. He has a sensitive tummy and needs food for sensitive stomachs. Apart from that, Yogi is up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered. Yogi would do best in an active household. He is a young mix of Husky, Greyhound, Malamute, Saluki and German Short Haired Pointer - all active dogs. He's been good with all kids he's met, but hasn't been tested with babies or toddlers. If you are interested in adopting Yogi, please fill out an application at https://pawsaboverescue.ca/dog-adoption/   Please visit our website www.pawsaboverescue.ca to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
ASPEN 11 weeks old/ male / shepherd x husky mix / 17 lbs microchipped and vaccinated Fostered in Aurora, ON Some words to describe me: HAPPY GO LUCKY – I am an upbeat guy who wags his tail pretty much anytime I’m not asleep PLAYFUL – I am silly and love to play EVEN-TEMPERED – I tend to go with the flow, not much bothers me Here’s what you need to know about me: Yes, I’m very cute but please take the time to read my bio – there’s some great information here! It’s important to be sure you are really committed to all the work a puppy will be before filling out an application for me. My foster family thinks I am a sweet boy. I like to be around people as well as the dog in this house, but I am also independent and have no trouble chilling in my crate on my own. I really like to play! I love pretty much any toy – Kongs or Nylabones to chew, balls to chase and stuffies to throw around. I’m quite content throwing toys around on my own and I also love when the humans here join in and play tug of war or fetch with me. It’s important to remember, that I will teethe on anything and everything, so I should be crated when not directly supervised so I don’t accidentally chew stuff that’s important to you and prevent any injuries. My crate training is going well! I’m learning to go into my crate on the command “crate!” but I’m still learning to listen to Foster mom and don’t always go in on my own. Sometimes she needs to point in the crate or will use my collar to guide me in. I don’t usually fuss once in the crate, I will curl up and go to sleep. I currently go into my crate at about 11:00 pm and I’m quiet until about 6:00 am. I have all my daytime naps in my crate and Foster mom follows a schedule of 1 hour out of the crate and 1.5 hours in the crate during the day. It’s very important that I spend time in my crate during the day and not just at night as us puppies need lots of down time and naps. It also keeps me out of trouble when no one is home. When I’m let out of my crate, I head right out the door to pee. Foster mom also feeds me in my crate to help me identify that it is a positive space. In my crate I like my blanket to snuggle with and a sheet to cover the crate. Foster mom also puts on a white noise machine or music to help me sleep. It is possible that I may be a little noisy for a few nights in your home as it’s all new. My house training is going well. Consistency is the key! I have had accidents in the house but just like the crate training, I am continuing to improve. Foster mom keeps me on a schedule – when I’m out of my crate, I go outside every half an hour or so to do my business. Foster mom also picks up my water by 7 pm so I can sleep through the night without accidents. When I’m out of my crate, I do sometimes go to the back door to indicate that I need to go out but I’m not consistent yet with it. Keeping me on a leash when I’m not in my crate will help my house-training progress. This way, you can keep an eye on me and take me outside quickly if I start to have an accident in the house. There is a cat in my Foster home and I wagged my tail at her and was calm. She approached me and we touched noses! That’s about all she’s let me do but hopefully we can be friends. I live with 2 teenagers and I really like them. I wag my tail so hard when I see them that my bum moves too! I have met younger children and I like them as well but I’m still young and have really sharp teeth that can hurt… I will teethe on pretty much anything that’s put in front of me – including foster mom’s slippers! I’m a really good good boy with a sweet temperament. If I sound like a good fit for your family, please apply for me, ASPEN! Adoption fee is $900 & includes his neuter & rabies vaccination when of age at our partner vet in Mississauga! Story
Pogo is a  &#226&#128&#139neutered male husky mix who is a  sweet, kind, and goofy boy. He loves people, dogs &#226&#128&#139 and cats as long as they are introduced in a  respectful manner. He is 4-5 years old and approx. 80 pounds Pogo's favorite pastimes include playing fetch, rolling in grass, playing with his ball like a cat, trying enrichment toys, honing his inner husky by playing in the snow, howling to share his excitement outside, and getting attention from his favo &#226&#128&#139u rite humans. Pogo is a husky mix so there is a lot of shedding but he is great for brushing. Nervous but accepting of bathes and nail trims. Routine brushing with an undercoat rake and comb will help control the hair plus full grooms/blow outs twice a year. Pogo currently has basic obedience like sit, down, come, touch, chin rest, beginner heel positions, beginner stay, speak, uncued check ins and more. Currently learning confidence building skills and impulse control for his fears and insecurities. Going out to explore and even just sitting outside, he loves it. He does great on walks practically anywhere including dog friendly stores, busy streets, and crowds but definitely prefers people leave him be unless he goes over to say hi. Pogo isn't fully comfortable with surprise pets or loud/rambunctious people but  &#226&#128&#139his foster mom  is working on it! &#226&#128&#139  At home, he enjoys playing but very easily settles until his next adventure! Dietary wise, Pogo is sensitive to a lot of proteins so making sure of any food, treats, chews, enrichment,  etc. Is closely monitored and strict. He does love lamb, fish and sometimes pork which he can have. Pogo is super sweet and definitely a sensitive boy. He will need someone with patience, understanding, and endless love. He would love a fenced in backyard but is used to apartment living and does fine with enough walks and &#226&#128&#139 stimulation      Pogo is a  &#226&#128&#139neutered male husky mix who is a  sweet, kind, and goofy boy. Story
Introducing Dijon Ketchup, the most magnificent, fanciest husky. Think of him as the Grey Poupon of dogs! This fluffy, puffy boy is up for any adventure you may have in mind! He loves human companions and wants to be around you all the time. Get ready for tons of cozy snuggles! Dijon Ketchup also LOVES spending time in the great outdoors, getting some good exercise. Dijon Ketchup was previously adopted, but was unfortunately returned due to his size and strength (he has a strong drive to meet any and everything on his walks.) However, if you have experience with huskies and can handle his strength, he may just be the perfect match! In any case, we hope his next home is his best home.Typical of the breed, Dijon Ketchup has a lot of coat that should be brushed regularly to keep him looking prim and proper. Some miht say he`s on the extra-fluffy side, even for a husky! If you are interested in adopting Dijon Ketchup, please contact our East shelter at 416-338-PAWS (7297) to learn more about our adoption process and book a time to meet him. Our phone lines are open between 10:30am and 6:30pm, 7 days a week.Dijon Ketchup looks forward to meeting you!**PLEASE NOTE: potential adopters should be available to schedule an appointment to meet the animal they are interested in within 24 hours of submitting an application.
