Story
Ash is very vocal and active, and will require a family who loves going for walks and hikes every day. She is good with other dogs of all sizes. Ash can sometimes be jumpy and mouthy when meeting new people, and for this reason she will not be suitable for a home with small children. Once she is calm and comfortable she likes to be pet. Ash is very uncomfortable with nail trims and going to the vet, and will require muzzled visits. https://www.dogtales.ca/ash

Story
MAX 2 💙 Fostered in Schomberg, ON From his foster mama: From the moment I saw Max, I knew he needed to make his way to Canada to find his forever family. Max is a 1 yr old male husky. He weighs aprox. 45lbs( and needs to gain more weight). Beautiful, sweet, blue eyed Max came here from Cairo, Egypt, 5 weeks ago. Max was friendly with us from the start and was good with our 3 dogs, but very reserved. Max spent alot of time sleeping, the first few weeks and whined if outside walking for too long. He preferred to be in the house, near people and the other dogs, where he felt safe. As Max gained some weight( he was extremely thin), got his strength back and started to trust us, we started to see more of his personality. He is very much a husky! He howls when he is happy to see you, he is intelligent(a very fast learner)and playful. He knows sit, stay( though he’s still selective with that), leave it, and walks pretty good on a leash(though still can pull, as huskies tend to do) so we keep working on this. He is getting better at not bolting out of the house and learning to stay, until we say he can exit the house( still needs work with this as, he can get excited with the other dogs and forget) Max is always on a leash outside and never outside on his own( he can slip his harness and his collar). While inside, he is also on a leash, attached to me, and this is most of the day while I am home. This keeps him from getting into something he shouldn’t and learn the rules better, etc. Max is very good with just chilling in the kitchen while I putter, or laying by the couch while I watch TV. Max is being crate trained and though he hated it for the first few weeks, he is doing very well adjusting to it. He has stopped whining at night and is good throughout the whole night. The past 2 days he has started going into the crate on his own and having a sleep with the door open. He still needs coaxing to go in at other times, with a treat. Max s crated when no one is home and through out the day, periodically wen we are. Max would do well in a house as the only dog, or a house with another dog, but it should be a female dog , unless your male is very docile and submissive. Max was quick to bond with my females but he and my male dog are hot and cold. The more comfortable Max gets, the more he tries to challenge the male. Max being on Leash helps a lot to avoid any issues. Max is great with children, but sometimes jumps up on young children due to excitement. Though he gets better every day. Max will bond well with his people and is very content to be nearby relaxing l. He will make a wonderful, loyal companion to anyone willing to take the time, to continue proper training, to help him be the best dog be can be. Story
Jake is a gorgeous black and white bi-eyed husky. He is on the smaller side as far as huskies go, which is maybe why he walks so beautifully on a leash. He absolutely loves to play with a ball and chase it at the dog park. He has a great disposition with other dogs and enjoys a session of zoomies every now and then. Like a typical husky, Jake is very prey driven and will pull if he sees a wild animal. A home without cats or small animals would be best suited. Jake is housetrained and follows the daily routine. Jake is a joy to have around and loves to talk when he is excited. LEO Leo is a stunning, regal gentleman. Once he trusts you he loves to be snuggled. He does extremely well with positive reinforcement and takes his cues from his foster brother Jake and foster sister. He would love to be adopted with his brother Jake. If not, he would do best in a home with another calm, happy dog that he can bond with and who will teach him the ropes. He loves to play with stuffed toys, which he promptly tears apart, but he also loves to chase the ball at the park, and will burn off his energy with the occasional zoomies. He is extremely fast and it's a joy to watch him run. He takes excellent cues from other dogs and he is very smart. Leo walks beautifully on a leash with his foster siblings, and only gets excited when wildlife is around. A home without cats or smaller animals would be best. He is very interested in socializing with other dogs and gets very excited when he can make friends. He is quiet in the house and is a wonderful boy to have around. If you would like to meet Jake or Leo in their foster home who are both two years old and learn more about our foster to adopt program please email our rescue at c4ptoronto@gmail.com.

Story
Kira came to Animal Services as a stray that was found at a dog park with a broken leg. Surgery was performed on Kira and she went into a lovely foster home to recover for several months, and now is back from foster care, spayed and finally ready for adoption!! While in foster Kira was a sweet and quiet girl. She will greet you with her voice, so a home with no shared walls would be best. Kira is good with large dogs but can be a bit of nuisance with foster moms dog at times, and luckily foster moms doggies were very patient with her! Kira doesn`t get along with small dogs, as she plays too rough for them. She loves to toss around her stuffie down the hall and skate with her bone along the floor! Kira also loves to chew ice cubes (runs when she hears the fridge ice dispenser) and she walks well on leash. Kira will not be suitable with any small animals (rabbits, birds, cats, dogs and children).Ki Kira is a people pleaser and would be a great addition to a family! If you would like adopt Kira please call Toronto Animal Services East 416-338-7539

Story
You know her! You love her! It`s Tiffany! Tiffany is an energetic girl with a passion for play and hot dogs. Tiffany loves to run, romp and roam, so a fenced yard area may be best - that way she can show off her zoomies! She`s a performer at heart and would love to show off all the tricks she`s learned. Have some reward hot dogs ready to throw!Tiffany is sensitive to her ears being handled, but still loves your affection! She appreciates some back scratches or a good butt pat. For walking, she prefers to wear a body harness to avoid her ears being touched. When it comes to that classic Husky singing voice, Tiffany is... oddly quiet? Surprisingly, she isn`t very vocal so she may be a good fit for an apartment, so long as she gets her exercise! If you would like to adopt Tiffany, please call our East region shelter at (416) 338-7297

Story
Hades is a 9 month old Husky mix who was surrendered to a shelter in Quebec. He had suffered from seizures and days after being with us had a relapse. His foster family was able to get him to the vet quickly where he was seen by a specialist. His seizures have been under control since going on medication. He will likely need to be on medication for the rest of his life.He is a young dog with plenty of love and life to live. He is high energy and still has some puppy tendencies eg. jumping up to greet you. He walks well on leash and enjoys spending time outdoors. We are looking for an active family that is able to give him plenty of exercise and continue his positive reinforcement training and socialization. His Ideal Family would be:- an active family willing to give him plenty of exercise and commit to continuing his positive reinforcement training- a private fenced yard where he can run and play- no young children or small animals in the house, at least initiallyHe is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations. If you're interested in adopting him please fill in our online adoption application. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to meet him once pre-approved for adoption. If you have any questions about him or the adoption process please contact his adoption coordinator at: suejp.ehs@gmail.com

Story
Zinga is an 11 year old Siberian Husky who was surrendered to a local animal shelter because his owner could no longer care for him. Despite the change he has adjusted better than could be expected. He is a sweetheart and loves to hang out with people. This adorable guy is one of the volunteers' favourites. He would make a wonderful companion and is looking for someone who is home more than not because that's when Zinga is most content. Ideally his family would live in a detached home with a fully fenced yard. He has a strong prey drive so we don't recommend him for a home with cats or small animals. He is microchipped, neutered and up to date on his core vaccinations. He knows some basic commands and walks well on leash. His adoption criteria include:- a family that is home more than not- detached home with a fully fenced yard- no cats or small animals in the houseIf you're interested in adopting him please fill in our online adoption application. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to meet him once pre-approved for adoption. If you have any questions about him or the adoption process please contact his adoption coordinator at: suejp.ehs@gmail.com
