Looking for a home for my buddy, i’m young with a baby on the way and wanting to move out of my mom’s house into an apartment that i can afford. Adam is a good dog he’s extremely playful and pretty big he’s a lover and does have small experience with dogs he’s usually just hyper around them although, that may be on me cause i’m always working and not able to give him the love he deserves so i’m just looking for anyone that can welcome him with open arms and give him a warm home he was never aloud inside while living with my mom so he’d have to adjust. Hello, this is Atlas! My husband and I adopted this beautiful boy in May of this year (2025). He is about 5 1/2 years old. He is very sweet and very smart, however, he needs a structured home with a set schedule for numerous walks and scheduled potty breaks. He is eager to please anyone and loves earning treats. On walks he loves to meet new people but has not been properly socialized with other dogs (especially since his stay at the Dallas shelter before we adopted him-he was underweight) We tried to slowly introduce him to my cat I have had for 4 years. In the beginning they were patient with each other (while both in harnesses and on a lease). But I have not been able to make the progress with them to ensure they can get along without supervision. I fear with our busy work schedules we are not able to care for both pets as they need and deserve. Atlas is very high energy and needs daily mental and physical activities. Also, he is a cuddler and protector, with people and toys.

*** ONLY APPLY IF IN STATE WHERE IT’S COLDER, WILLING TO TRANSPORT MYSELF. *** I rescued him when he was 4 months old and immediately found out he had parvo. He spent about a month and a half in the vet hospital fighting off the parvo and was able to pull though. He isnt your typical husky. Dax doesnt howl and is incredibly friendly with everyone and all dogs. We have another smaller dog and two cats that he gets along with extremely well and has been living with for 3 years now. Looking to rehome because, after holding off for so long, he would clearly be happier in a colder climate. He gets too overweight in the summer because the Texas heat is too much for him to be running around in and I dont want to give him a heat stroke. He gets out occasionally to the dog park, but because of our busy life and having a toddler, Daxter doesn’t get as much attention. He’s very chill so we can’t even play fetch or anything in the house. Just want him to be as happy as he can.
