Story
Sheba is a young female dog who is about 2 years old. She is an amazing dog who would be a great addition to your family! Sheba is playful and gets along well with other dogs, and is especially good with kids. She has been fully vetted, including having all her shots up to date, being microchipped and fully house-broken. Sheba is an intelligent and loving dog who has been well taken care of and deserves a great home. Her previous owner had to give her up because of a new baby in the house, but has nothing but good things to say about her. If you're looking for a wonderful dog to share your life with, Sheba is the one for you!

Story
Hello, this is Atlas! My husband and I adopted this beautiful boy in May of this year (2025). He is about 5 1/2 years old. He is very sweet and very smart, however, he needs a structured home with a set schedule for numerous walks and scheduled potty breaks. He is eager to please anyone and loves earning treats. On walks he loves to meet new people but has not been properly socialized with other dogs (especially since his stay at the Dallas shelter before we adopted him-he was underweight) We tried to slowly introduce him to my cat I have had for 4 years. In the beginning they were patient with each other (while both in harnesses and on a lease). But I have not been able to make the progress with them to ensure they can get along without supervision. I fear with our busy work schedules we are not able to care for both pets as they need and deserve. Atlas is very high energy and needs daily mental and physical activities. Also, he is a cuddler and protector, with people and toys.

Story
Sasha was being taken care of for a while from me and my family due to an older couple that had her that could no longer keep her. It was only supposed to be a temporary stay and was not able to find her new home due to not able to have large dogs Landlord does not allow big dogs but other than that she is a very sweet girl loves kids loves to play with other dogs. Loves to have a backyard to run around. Shes very calm and chill I have came across and noticing that she is chewing on her left back paw that I cant afford to cure or take her to the vet. Try to cure at home, but seems to not get better due to her. Keep chewing on her old scabs. I hope someone can give her the home and the caring that she needs and that can afford to take her to the vet. Please be her angel.

Story
To say that Hanna adores human attention would be an understatement. This fluffy pup immediately mellows out whenever she receives affection from anyone – be it strangers, children, or the elderly. But don't be fooled by her antics. The moment it's time to return to her kennel, she unleashes the husky's trademark howl, serenading the shelter with her rendition of the "shelter dog blues." Her vocal prowess echoes throughout the center, leaving no doubt about her desire for companionship. In 2020, Hanna found her home through OHAR, where she lived alongside another dog and children. However, due to unforeseen hardships, her family faced tough decisions and returned her to OHAR. This turn of events has left Hanna heartbroken, yet she remains resilient, determined to find her fairy tale ending once again. Could you be the one to offer Hanna the love and stability she so deserves?Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Learn more at ohar.org/adoptionprocess

Story
This BEAUTIFUL boy is Saki!! He is a young, three-year-old, Siberian Husky. Though black Siberians are not considered rare, they are much less accessible than the other types of Huskies. Saki is extremely active and full of life. He is very good with other medium to large dogs that are well behaved and spayed or neutered. He is NOT a cat or farm dog and will require a large fenced in yard or acreage with a minimum of 6' wooden or no climb fence. Saki will be at his best with a buddy to run and play with. He is not a solitary dog. He is crate trained and obeys basic commands. He currently has an acre or so to run on and he makes it look very easy. Did I mention that he LOVES water!!!!! He absolutely loves to play in water. Due to Saki's size and agility, we do not recommend homes with children or small animals. He is very sweet, loving and will make someone a GREAT buddy! Please reach out for more information on this gorgeous boy!!! You don't see this type of dog often! Thank you!
