Story
To say that Hanna adores human attention would be an understatement. This fluffy pup immediately mellows out whenever she receives affection from anyone – be it strangers, children, or the elderly. But don't be fooled by her antics. The moment it's time to return to her kennel, she unleashes the husky's trademark howl, serenading the shelter with her rendition of the "shelter dog blues." Her vocal prowess echoes throughout the center, leaving no doubt about her desire for companionship. In 2020, Hanna found her home through OHAR, where she lived alongside another dog and children. However, due to unforeseen hardships, her family faced tough decisions and returned her to OHAR. This turn of events has left Hanna heartbroken, yet she remains resilient, determined to find her fairy tale ending once again. Could you be the one to offer Hanna the love and stability she so deserves?Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. Story
Coco not only is an exceptionally stunning looking dog with big blue eyes and reddish brown coloring, but she also has an exceptionally sweet endearing personality to match. She is a 4 year old 52 pound spayed Alaskan Husky appropriately named Coco due to her coloring. She was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 2/17 through no fault of her own. Her owners lost their home and could no longer care for her. She was an inside dog and raised with children of all ages. She was obviously well taken care of although she’s a little on the stocky side. At first, I thought she was extremely motivated by treats because she kept sitting by me, but I finally realized that’s just what she does to be near you. When I sat down, she came and put her head on my lap and kept putting her paw on my knee. She’s happy, friendly, affectionate, and well mannered. She had a strong pull on the leash. She did her business as soon as she got out into the yard. She may be dog reactive so if you have another dog, please ask the shelter for a dog test. She’s been an inside dog and wants to continue to enjoy the comforts of your home. She would love to have a secured yard so she can run and play in. With her breed she would also need frequent brushings.

Story
Ridge is a sweet, comical goofball that got his name from an unusual stripe down his back. Ridge a 2yr-old 42 pound Siberian Husky that was brought into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 2/16 as a stray. He has pale blue eyes that are sure to lure you in to his spell. On top of that, he talks to you! He’s very vocal. He sometimes barks, sometimes howls, and sometimes has a little talking voice. So if you’ve ever talked to a dog and he listened, Ridge not only listens, but holds up his end of the conversation. He likes to hang close with his humans. He occasionally jumps up, but gets down when told to do so. He’s joyful, frisky, friendly, affectionate, and easy-going. He had a low growl when walking through the bay so we suggest if you have another dog to ask the shelter for a dog test. He walked okay on a leash. He would need frequent groomings and secured tall fencing. Come meet Ridge!

Story
This small-framed blue-eyed beauty is Asia. She is a 2 year-old 36 pound Alaskan Husky that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 2/20 as a stray. She has an easy-going, happy-go-lucky, loving personality. There was activity going on beyond the fence and she was very curious and alert wanting know what was going on, but most of the time hung out with me. She’s highly motivated by treats, sits for them, and remains sitting in anticipation of another one. She does take treats gently. Her tail wags constantly. She’s well behaved, affectionate, friendly, and sweet. Asia will need a tall secure fence. She will also need frequent brushing. She walks OK in a leash. She did her business in the yard. She would love to have a yard to play in and a house where she can share cuddles and family time.
