Story
To say that Hanna adores human attention would be an understatement. This fluffy pup immediately mellows out whenever she receives affection from anyone – be it strangers, children, or the elderly. But don't be fooled by her antics. The moment it's time to return to her kennel, she unleashes the husky's trademark howl, serenading the shelter with her rendition of the "shelter dog blues." Her vocal prowess echoes throughout the center, leaving no doubt about her desire for companionship. In 2020, Hanna found her home through OHAR, where she lived alongside another dog and children. However, due to unforeseen hardships, her family faced tough decisions and returned her to OHAR. This turn of events has left Hanna heartbroken, yet she remains resilient, determined to find her fairy tale ending once again. Could you be the one to offer Hanna the love and stability she so deserves?Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Learn more at ohar.org/adoptionprocess

Story
Very good dog with a few behavioral issues, namely separation anxiety. Needs to go to a home that knows how to handle that. I am moving and we are having a lot of family medical issues right now and can not give her the attention she needs and deserves. Very goofy and loves to play tug of war. Good with big dogs and people. Not good with cats.

Story
Timber is a handsome, dignified, majestic blue-eyed Siberian Husky mix. He is a 4 yr old 62 lb show-stopping fluffy boy that was brought into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/24. He is on the shy side. When I first took him into the yard, he was shaking and had his tail tucked. However, once he got to pacing and exploring the yard, he relaxed. He will no doubt blossom once he’s in a loving home with his new family. Timber will also need a tall secure fence. Seeing how fluffy he is you probably guessed that he will need frequent grooming. You are correct about that. He is agile, sweet, affectionate, and no doubt will be very loyal. At this point he’s cautiously friendly. There’s no doubt that he’s very intelligent. He has not been taught the sit command so that is something you can teach him. He was intimidated by other dogs. With coaxing, he walked well on a leash. He particularly responded to praise. He’s a good boy and will make a wonderful addition to your family. He would love to get out and enjoy the sunshine, but also spend quality time in the house with his new family.

Story
Clive is a 6-yr-old 54 lb Siberian husky that was brought into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/23 as a stray. He was patient when I brushed him. It doesn’t appear that he had been groomed for sometime. He’s a little thin and would be best to gain a bit more weight. He’s very sweet and stayed very close. Other than the times he was checking out the environment and looking over the wall he stayed close. He sits on command but wasn`t fond of my treats. He’s very alert, gentle and well mannered. Once he warms up, he’s very affectionate. He did his business in the yard. He didn’t appear to have a problem with other dogs. And he walked OK on a leash. Clive will need a yard with a tall secured fence he could run and play in. He will also need frequent brushings. In return for sharing your home with him he has saved up kisses for you. Can’t you just imagine how soft he will be when you cuddle up with him on the couch?
