Story
Meet Paris! She is a 3 yr old spayed female Alaskan Husky mix that weighs 50 lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter with her sibling on 6/1 as a stray. Her sister was adopted so Paris is hoping she can find her own loving home. She walks well on a leash and takes treats gently. She enjoys running through the shelter yard and getting some exercise. She will look over the gate hoping that it will be her turn to have her own forever family soon. She does not show interest in toys or balls. She does enjoy being close to her human companions. She will roll over for tummy rub and have such a big smile on her face. Not only is she extremely attractive, but she is well behaved. Paris would love to find an active family where she can go on walks or hikes. Spend time in a secured back yard investigating. She has told me she must be an inside dog as she wants to stay cool and comfy. Having her own family to hang out with, spending quality time cuddling or just watching tv on the couch is what she deserves. Come meet this wonderful girl as she would make a great family companion!

Story
Riley is particularly stunning, fluffy and soft. He is a 2 yr old 66lb Alaskan Husky that came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 3/19 as a stray. I do not feel he has had much socialization. When I called him from across the yard, he cautiously approached me. He never actually came to me. But when I first took him into the yard, I brushed him. He was very patient and leaned into me. That indicated to me he really craved affection. He’s a very sweet, easy-going, gentle, calm boy that wants to make friends and wants to be loved. He just needs to learn what love is. He did do his business in the yard. He did not have any reaction to the other dogs. He walked well on a leash. He will need frequent brushings. He will need a tall secured fenced yard, in a home, not an apartment. Most importantly to live indoors to chill out with his new loving family.

Story
Juniper has come a long way from when she first arrived to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 3/20 as a stray. When she first arrived, she was very confused and scared and hunkered down in the back of her kennel. With staff and volunteers working with her and showering her with TLC she has responded. She is learning to relax and trust. However, she is still skittish. Loud noises and sudden movements startle her. She wants to make friends and will continue to come out of her shell. She sits on command. At this point, she didn’t take a treat and she is not eating much possibly due to a slit in her tongue. She is going to go to the vet to have this checked out. She is very alert scoping out her environment. She’s sweet. She’s also friendly and judging from her constant tail wags she’s happy. Huskies like to run and are therefore known to escape. This beautiful girl will need a tall secure fence. She will also need frequent brushings. She walks well on a leash and she did her business in the yard. She wants to be mostly an inside dog, but would like to have a yard to stretch her legs in. As soft as she is, she would make a great snuggle companion.

Story
Luna is a 3 yr old 41lb Siberian Husky that was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter along with her sibling Layna. Her previous owners had too many animals. So if you’re looking for a very attractive dog with sterling attributes, come and meet Luna. She is gentle, sweet, calm, attentive, and well behaved. When another dog was outside the gate she got really excited wanting to meet the dog. She doesn’t appear to know the sit command, but told me that’s something she would be glad to learn. She’s certainly smart enough to! Huskies like to run so Luna will need a tall secure fence along with frequent brushings. When I walked her out to the yard, she walked right beside me. What are you waiting for? Luna is waiting for you! She wants to be an inside dog so she can chill out on hot summer nights under the air conditioning and snuggle on the couch during the cold winter nights

Story
Meet Argo! He is a 11 mo old neutered male Siberian Husky/Jindo and maybe some Shiba Inu in the mix, that weighs 50lbs. Argo was surrendered as they were not able to provide him the active life he needed and living in an apartment did not allow. Argo is still a puppy with puppy energy. He loves to go on long walks and run through the shelter yard. He hopes he can find a family that has an active lifestyle and can provide him the enrichment he deserves. He has been well cared for as can be seen with his very clean and soft fur. He walks well on a leash but gets bursts of energy and wants you to come along. He takes treats gently and enjoys being petted and loved on. He hasn`t decided what type of toy he would like, so maybe you can help him find the right one. He didn`t show interest in the other dogs barking at him. Yet if you do have another dog in the home please ask the shelter for a dog test. He will need to have a tall secured fence to run around and play in. If you want to be more active in your life, Argo is the right buddy to help you accomplish that. Please come spend some time with him!
