Story
Coco not only is an exceptionally stunning looking dog with big blue eyes and reddish brown coloring, but she also has an exceptionally sweet endearing personality to match. She is a 4 year old 52 pound spayed Alaskan Husky appropriately named Coco due to her coloring. She was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 2/17 through no fault of her own. Her owners lost their home and could no longer care for her. She was an inside dog and raised with children of all ages. She was obviously well taken care of although she’s a little on the stocky side. At first, I thought she was extremely motivated by treats because she kept sitting by me, but I finally realized that’s just what she does to be near you. When I sat down, she came and put her head on my lap and kept putting her paw on my knee. She’s happy, friendly, affectionate, and well mannered. She had a strong pull on the leash. She did her business as soon as she got out into the yard. She may be dog reactive so if you have another dog, please ask the shelter for a dog test. She’s been an inside dog and wants to continue to enjoy the comforts of your home. She would love to have a secured yard so she can run and play in. With her breed she would also need frequent brushings.

Story
Coquette is 2 years old, she was born on January 16, 2024. She is a really, crazy, playful and lovable female. She gets excited over the smallest things. It's going to take a lot of patience with her as she is loud but also calm once she eats. Coquette has never been around other dogs, only with both her parents and her other 2 siblings. Her dad is a Siberian Husky and the mom she is a Siberian Husky/Great Pyrenees. Both parents are really lovable and great with children. I am looking for a forever home for her, where the owners can have the right patience with her as she is a crazy girl but she wants to be loved as well.

Story
I have a male Siberian Husky and a female Siberian Husky/Great Pyrenees. She had a total of 5 puppies and we kept 3 of them. Bruna is a lovely dog, she is so lovable and really playful. She is 2 years old, they were born on January 16, 2024. I am looking for a lovable home where she feels the love and appreciation. Both breeds are amazing and playful. I never got them involved with other pets, she has always been around the parents and her other two siblings. But she is not a troubled dog, I never had a problem with her or the other siblings.

Story
Age: 3 years Weight: 40 lbs Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Unknown Activity level: High Shedding Level: High Training: Basic, Leash Skylar is a gorgeous husky/shepherd mix with striking blue eyes. He is about 3 years old. Skylar had been injured during his time on the streets and had TPLO surgery on his leg last year. He has since recovered nicely. He absolutely loves to run and play! He likes to try to be in charge, but takes correction well. He loves to play with other dogs and get out his energy. He gets nervous with quick movements and takes a minute to adjust to new people and situations. With a little patience and plenty of treats he will warm right up and ask for pets. Once he is comfortable, he loves pets, giving kisses, and cuddling! He will even gently reach over and pull your hand back with his paw if you stop petting him before he is ready.  Skylar finished his training on basic obedience commands and socialization and is ready for a foster or forever home! Does Skylar sound like your kind of guy? Email placement@duckteam6.org or visit our website to fill out an application.November 17, 2025, 3:05 pm

Story
Meet Nova! She’s a 1-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier/Chow Chow mix weighing 55 lbs. She arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/14 as a stray. Nova is a beautiful girl with an irresistible smile, a loving nature, and an independent streak. She takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once she does, she’ll be your best friend for life. She walks nicely on a leash and loves exploring every corner of the shelter yard. While she can be picky about treats, she takes her favorites gently. She seems to be both housetrained and crate trained, and she’ll need to be the only dog in her future home. Though she hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet, she may discover a favorite once she’s settled in. Nova adores being petted and will happily give hugs in return. A secure yard to play in and a cozy spot indoors with her loved ones is exactly what this sweet girl deserves.

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs special attention, House-trained, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
DOB - Feb. 10, 2020 Reason for rehoming: My son (owner) moved to Africa. I cannot keep him due to my lease. If he cannot be rehomed, he will have to go to a shelter. The local Akita rescue is not accepting any new dogs. Alpha is a sweet and devoted American Akita looking for a forever home where he can thrive. He is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and naturally protective of his family—once he bonds with you, he is your shadow and your biggest fan. Alpha does have environmental allergies, so he’ll need an adopter who can continue his care and keep him comfortable. He cannot be boarded, so he needs a family who can provide in-home care or trusted at-home pet sitting when traveling. He loves being near his people, enjoys calm environments, and does best with someone who understands large guardian breeds. Alpha will make an amazing companion for the right person or family—someone who values loyalty, connection, and a dog who truly loves his humans.
