Story
Meet Indigo! He is a 1 yr old neutered male Siberian Husky that weighs 54lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/12 as a stray. This sweet gentle boy is very handsome! With all the different smells and noise of other dogs barking can make a pup uncomfortable. We are letting Indigo take his time to realize that we are here to help him feel better, and look forward to finding his own loving home. He enjoys resting on his own dog bed surrounded with stuffed and squeaky toys. Being petted and given treats made him happy. He finds comfort in his kennel, and is learning it is ok to walk with us on a leash. We will continue to spend time with him, and complete another evaluation soon to show his progress. If this sweet boy pulls at your heartstrings like he does ours and you can offer him the loving home he deserves please come spend time with him.

Story
Nova is on the smaller side as far as huskies go. She fits alot of  personality into her 35 pounds. Her personality is loving.  She offers cuddles and loves to sit or lay with you.  She loves ear, chest and belly rubs. She will give kisses if allowed.  Nova is not a barker or a howler. She turns in joyful circles if someone is at door. Her spins go supersonic when pizza is delivered.  The only sounds Nova makes is like Chewbacca from Star Wars but more quiet.  She does this when happy or to give her opinion in a conversation. Otherwise she is very quiet. No sounds would be disturbing to neighbors etc. Her Chewbacca is very low.  Nova is an unapologetic foodie. She will take any food left on the counter, table or plate if you are not guarding it. As much as she loves you when it’s food she’s going to choose her own survival first. She is definitely a counter surfer and should be crated during meal prep or meal time. Nova is great on a leash and she enjoys going outdoors to potty, walk, play or car ride but is an inside girl at heart. She is always first to go inside.  This sweet girl is gentle, quiet, well mannered and very civilized when she moves about in the house and in and interactions with other animals including humans.  Nova likes other pups but is not a fan of rough behavior and play. VERY gentle dogs of any size are best fit for her.  She uses a doggy door,  is house trained and crate trained.  Nova loves toys, balls and will fetch when she’s in the mood. She was raised with four little boys and a cat she played with by taking turns chasing it and then the cat chased her.  Nova is a husky therefore she is NOT for folks prone to allergies.  She does seasonally shed. If brushed outside (furminator) it helps a lot.  You MUST love to vacuum or own a roomba.  Nova is 2 years old and her adoption fee is $150.       ##1939504##

Story
We temporarily rehomed Sunny due to my cousin enlisting into the army. Sunny is a gorgeous, 3 year old little lady. We are looking for a loving home for this sweet, energetic, cuddly baby girl. She is good with kiddos, and likes to chill in the living room while we watch movies together as a family! She can be easily trained as she is as bright as her name. Unfortunately, we are unable to give her the attention she needs and deserves. Thank you!

Story
My name is Nana, and I’m a one-year-old 45-pound husky mix, eagerly waiting to light up your life! My journey to happiness has been quite an adventure, and I’m proud to say I’m a true survivor. I was found wandering the streets of a Dallas neighborhood, and it appeared that I had been hit by a car, leaving my pelvis injured. But, thanks to a kind-hearted Good Samaritan and the incredible team at Duck Team 6, I’m now fully healed, vetted, and ready to find my forever home! I’m a social butterfly, and I adore making new friends, whether they are humans (both adults and kids) or fellow dogs. My foster mom says I’m a delight to be around, and I’ve been working hard on perfecting my leash manners during our long, enjoyable walks with my two best furry friends. When I’m not out exploring the neighborhood or working on my leash skills, you’ll find me at home lounging on my favorite chair, chasing squirrels in the backyard, or having a playful wrestling match with my foster fur siblings. I’m a perfect mix of adventurous and chill, and I’m looking for a family who will appreciate my zest for life and love for relaxation. I’m already crate-trained trained, potty-trained, and I’ve mastered the use of a dog door at my foster home, making me quite the smart cookie. My foster family has provided me with so much love and care, and now I’m ready to share all of my love and joy with you! If you’re looking for a sweet, loving, and fun-filled furry companion, look no further. I’m Nana, and I can’t wait to meet you and start our forever adventure together. To make me a part of your family, please fill out an adoption application or reach out to the nice people at Duck Team 6 directly. I’m so excited to meet you and give you all the love and cuddles you deserve! April 21, 2024, 8:12 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Denali! He is a 1 yr old neutered male Alaskan Malamute mix that weighs 50lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/13 as a stray. This wonderful boy we feel did have a family yet they have not come to reclaim him. He has an upbeat, happy go lucky personality. He is always smiling. Denali loves to be petted, hugged and loved on. He is like a big teddy bear with alot of fluff!! He walks great on a leash, takes treats gently and appears to be housetrained. Walking through the shelter with other dogs barking at him, he didn't pay any attention. Kept his head and tail up and pranced on by. If you do have another dog in the family please ask the shelter for a dog test. He has lived indoors and was well cared for. And that is what he needs to have again. A family that is familiar with the breed, with his grooming needs, but most importantly given plenty of love and I promise he will give plenty back! He is a volunteer favorite. Come meet him and you will see why we are so taken with him.
