Halo is a 12 year old Husky Rottweiler mix breed. Her personality is pretty chill and dopey. She isn’t mean at all. She’s a very sweet and loving dog. I’m just looking for someone who can adopt her, love, and take better care of her than I can.

Story
Meet Leo!Leo is a 1-year-old, 47-pound Husky mix who is looking for a family to call his own. He was found as a stray after spending four days running through the neighborhood in the middle of a Texas summer. We don’t know whether he got lost or was dumped, but what we do know is that Leo is ready to put that chapter behind him and start his new life!Leo is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on his vaccinations, and mostly house trained. He is currently a little underweight at 47 pounds, with a healthy goal weight of around 55 pounds.Leo has a moderate energy level. He has bursts of classic Husky energy where he wants to play and have fun, balanced by plenty of time when he is happy to relax and sleep. He loves a good game of fetch and will even toss his toys around by himself. He gets especially excited when you chase him while he’s playing!Leo is a mix of independent and cuddly, but he definitely prefers to be near his people—and if you’re willing to keep petting him, even better! He can take a few minutes to warm up to new people, but once he feels comfortable, he quickly turns into an attention-seeking sweetheart.Leo has been wonderful with his fosters two small dogs and enjoys playing with them. Leo has not shown any aggression toward them or toward dogs he has encountered while out walking. To date, Leo has shown no resource guarding however he is fed separately from his fosters other dogs because they are very interested in helping themselves to his dinner! Leo has not been around children, so his compatibility with kids is unknown. However, he has a very sweet temperament, and we have no reason to believe he would be anything but loving with them. His compatibility with cats is also unknown.Leo can be a little insecure or hesitant in new situations, but with reassurance and a little confidence from his people, he does very well. He would thrive with someone who is patient and willing to help him continue building confidence.Leo is great on a leash and does not pull or dart. He doesn’t seem particularly interested in long walks, though—once he decides he’s had enough, he will simply sit down and let you know! He knows sit and shake, and we’re currently working on “wait.” His recall is good indoors, but potential adopters should know that Leo is a runner if he gets outside unexpectedly. Once he is loose, he may not respond to recall, so a secure yard and careful management

Meet Petra! Petra is a beautiful 4-year-old Siberian Husky mix with a story of resilience, recovery, and a whole lot of love still to give. When Petra first came into our care, she was found as a stray with multiple injuries that required extensive care, including hydrotherapy for her open wounds and TPLO surgery. With the support of her rescue team, she made a full recovery and is now ready for the final chapter of her journey—a forever home. This sweet girl is house trained, crate trained, spayed and has experience living with other dogs. She is gentle and affectionate with older children (8+), and her goofy personality is sure to bring plenty of smiles to the family lucky enough to call her their own.As a true Siberian Husky, Petra comes with all the wonderful traits the breed is known for—she’s smart, curious, independent, and adventurous. Because of her Husky instincts, she can be a flight risk, so she will need a family with a secure yard and a commitment to keeping her safe.Petra has overcome so much, and now she’s looking for a family who will appreciate her silly spirit, celebrate how far she’s come, and give her the loving home she deserves. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt.
