Story
To say that Hanna adores human attention would be an understatement. This fluffy pup immediately mellows out whenever she receives affection from anyone – be it strangers, children, or the elderly. But don't be fooled by her antics. The moment it's time to return to her kennel, she unleashes the husky's trademark howl, serenading the shelter with her rendition of the "shelter dog blues." Her vocal prowess echoes throughout the center, leaving no doubt about her desire for companionship. In 2020, Hanna found her home through OHAR, where she lived alongside another dog and children. However, due to unforeseen hardships, her family faced tough decisions and returned her to OHAR. This turn of events has left Hanna heartbroken, yet she remains resilient, determined to find her fairy tale ending once again. Could you be the one to offer Hanna the love and stability she so deserves?Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. Story
Bruce is a very energetic and loving 4 year old chocolate Husky. He is a good boy and loves to run freely if he can. Loves to be next to your side and always wants to be in your lap. He has been friendly with the dogs I’ve had in the past. I no longer am able to care for him and he needs someone that’s available more than me. He is such a sweet boy and can be vocal when he wants to be.

Story
This very attractive 2yr old, neutered, Siberian husky mix, weighing 47lbs is Bixby, came in as a stray on 8/29. He walks quite nicely on a leash. This well-behaved boy is confident and outgoing, and he has a mellow chill personality. He did not jump on me. He is friendly and was perfectly fine with me petting him. Huskies are not well suited for apartment life. Bixby is hoping for a home with a good sized yard so he can roam about and stretch his legs, but he wants to live inside with his people in order to feel an important part of the family circle. Are you able to help sweet boy out of the shelter and on the way to his forever home?

Story
This youngster is Luna, a spayed mixed breed with some Siberian Husky in the mix that was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 9/2 due to the owner moving. She is 2yrs old, weighs 55 lbs. Luna is nervous and insecure at the shelter and understandably so. She was restless, and did a fair amount of pacing in the room in which I did her evaluation. Owner reported that she knows the sit and shake commands, is house trained, was an indoor dog, lived with dogs and cats and is OK with both. Owner also stated that Luna is OK with children and did fine with the 16 year-old in the home. I don’t think her true personality has shined through yet though in the short time she has been at the shelter. She will need more time to develop trust and confidence before we will see her true nature. She did give me a kiss which was lovely. She walks fine on a leash. Will you please assist in helping her find her forever home

Story
Enzo is a 2 year-old 50 lb white Alaskan Husky mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 7/22. He’s truly an EXCEPTIONAL dog! Not only is he very handsome and striking but also has got a very sweet personality! He is cautiously friendly and can be somewhat skittish. He flinches at a sudden movement. Judging from his elbows, he’s probably spent quite some time outside. This time he wants to be an inside dog so he can shower his new family with affection. He would love to have a secured yard he can run and play in. Huskies also need frequent brushing. Enzo was very patient when I brushed him. He’s well mannered and calm and very gentle and may be housetrained. He didn`t show interest in meeting other dogs, but we always ask if there is another dog in the home, please ask the shelter for a dog test. He walks very well on a leash and hopes to find his loving forever family soon!

Story
This adorable blue-eyed girl is Tiny, a Husky surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 11/25. Due to financial difficulties, her owner was no longer able to care for her. She weighs 38 lbs and is 4 yrs old. She lived with other dogs. She also lived with children and was A-OK with them. Tiny is very friendly, sociable, affectionate, and gives kisses! She walks quite nicely on a leash. This playful and active girl will talk to you, and does have a lot to say! She misses her family and is very much hoping that someone will see her and decide she would be the perfect companion for them! She also needs to have a secured yard to play in and live indoors so she can enjoy spending time with her human companions and truly be part of her loving family. There is so much to like about this sweet girl.
