Story
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** With truly haunting looks and a mellow demeanor, Duchess seems to be the kind of pup who just rolls through life with nary a care. With a reserved nature that quickly yields to affection-seeking, this petite pup has presumably been a beloved pet once but is somewhat cautious with strangers. Based on appearance alone, there appears to be some Chow and Husky in her mix, but the complete genetic picture is a mystery. A long-term park resident, Duchess has been out on the streets for many years yet still has a heart of gold. *** Please apply to foster or adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org The adoption fee of $225 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines. Transport is available and can be discussed on an individual basis. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member!

Story
Please contact Piotter for more information about this pet.Atka was a stray that was camping out at a farm in the New Waverly area where he was not a welcomed guest.  He is a beautiful, majestic husky or malamute.  Long story short he was shot in the foot/legs by the farm owner.  Operation Pets Alive helped him after he was injured.  He was under under veterinary care to for several weeks to see if his leg was going to be able to heal. Though the buckshot remains embedded, primarily in his left back foot, he is doing wonderfully and has no limitations.  Atka means guardian in Inuit.  He has a mind of his own and is capable of figuring things out.  He doesn't necessarily need (or sometime even want) your human help.  He needs his own space while he's eating his food or bones.  He has been gentle taking treats and can sit, shake hands and is learning to lie down.  He understands "wait" and is working on "leave it".  He will go "to place" with a treat.  He needs a lot of work on recall particularly when distracted.  He's housetrained.  Atka likes to be brushed and have attention in general when he's in the mood.  He frequently lies down in the frog position and has been caught chasing his tail - so kind-of goofy at times.  He likes toys but tires of them fairly quickly.  Like most huskies, he is curious and needs consistent exercise... we walk 3 miles every day.  He pretty much operates on his own terms and you will have to gain his trust and respect to foster a strong bond. He is great on a leash but is a very strong boy and shows too keen an interest in squirrels or, particularly, FedEx, UPS or Amazon trucks.  He has been dog-friendly at several local dog parks. He's never taken a walk without getting compliments - he's quite the looker... but there's much more you will need to understand about this companion.  He needs an even-tempered, patient but firm leader to be his best self.July 26, 2024, 5:10 pm

Story
My name is Pearl, and I’m absolutely beautiful. I’m a completely white husky (like an actual pearl). I was found with my 4 siblings with my mama dog. I am really high energy and like to play chase! I also really like water and hoses, like the rest of my siblings. I like to be vocal, however I mind my foster mama when she tells me to do something. I enjoy being groomed too. My foster mama lets me run out and play with my siblings in the morning, and at night I am kenneled with my other siblings. We all get to chew on hooves and play with tennis balls, because sometimes we rip other toys into shreds. For meals we get Pedigree dog food and for treats we get hard boiled egg (with the shell, my foster mom said it’s really good for my digestion and vitamins), chicken heart, and livers.July 26, 2024, 5:10 pm

Story
Hey there! It's great to meet you! Let me introduce myself - I'm Aja, the adventurous white husky with the most beautiful blue eyes and one brown ear. I'm part of a litter of five siblings and our mama dog. We love to play ball and run around all day long, and boy, can I be vocal when I'm excited! My foster mama is the coolest, she lets us play outside in the morning and we get to run around with the hose and chew on hooves and tennis balls. Sometimes we can be a little rough with our toys, but who can blame us - we're just having too much fun! I have a bit of an alpha personality, but I'm still a loving pup at heart. And don't even get me started on water - we all love it! When it comes to food, we get Pedigree dog food for our meals and for treats, we get hard-boiled eggs with the shells, chicken hearts, and livers - yum! So there you have it, that's a little bit about me! I can't wait to go on more adventures and make new friends. How about you? What do you like to do for fun? July 26, 2024, 5:10 pm
