Story
Xena - Husky/Heeler Mix - Female - 14 months - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Xena: We think she is likely a husky/cattle dog mix. What this means, is that she has more energy than the energizer bunny.  Xena is also very smart and good at problem solving.  Smart dogs are not always easy dogs. Xena does well with supervision and guidance, but left to her own devices, she will make poor choices. Xena is crate trained and is working on loose leash walking.  She has done well with dogs of all sizes.  She is likely not great around cats or other small animals.  Especially if she was not supervised. Xena is fun and energetic, and a little too smart for her own good. Xena is looking for an active home, with or without another dog for her to play with, but with an experienced active handler that wants a dog to train for dog sports (think Dock Diving, Rally, Barn Hunt, FastCAT etc) or an active regular hiking/biking/running partner. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

Story
Saint - Husky - Male - 4 yrs - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Saint: This GORGEOUS Siberian Husky is about 3 yrs old and has already been through a lot. He was found stray, contracted Parvo, got very sick, beat Parvo and is now healthy, fully vetted and ready for his furever home. Saint is crate and house trained, rides well in the car, LOVE bike rides and leash walks. He gets along well with other dogs, and does well in social settings, like meeting new human and fur friends at Starbucks or such. He loves cuddling on the couch and goes a little nuts for Ice Cream, like he LOVES ice cream . If he sees you eating a strawberry yogurt bar, he wants to share licks. That said, Saint is not quite the Saint his name implies (name comes from the Fleur-de-lis on his head, not his behavior),  as he does have a pretty high prey drive and some resource guarding tendencies  - he likely had to compete for food while he was a stray, so we can't "blame" him. He likes to eat his meals in the privacy of his crate ( he has an XXL crate at his foster and overall respects his bedding and does not tear it up) and he loves to chew on bones, also in his crate as he will guard those. Like any good functioning Husky he can be vocal. Especially when he wants or needs something, like when he needs to go potty, he is quite intense.  He’s not kidding, he needs to go handle his business. So far never an accident. The boy can hold it, but don’t ignore the ask too long Saint is looking for a home with large breed experience, Ideally … experienced Husky person that can handle the kinks and embraces the typical Husky behavior, including the stubborn ("I heard you but I'm not reacting"), the vocal ("Must-pee-NOW") and the Hair. Quite a bit of Hair. Luckily he does not mind brushing.

Story
Sora is a trained & wonderful 6yr old dog with love & loyalty to give. Rehoming her is a difficult decision for us because she has been such a special part of our family. She grew up in a busy family home with three children, neighborhood dog friends, and cats.Sora loves the outdoors, car rides, and spending time with her people. She is extremely loyal and forms a strong bond with her owner. She is naturally protective and alert, making her a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a dog that watches over her home and family. She would thrive with someone who loves the outdoors where she can play and enjoy the sunshine. Sora completed 4 weeks of handler training, is healthy, and ready to be someone’s devoted best friend. She deserves a home where she will be loved, appreciated and given the attention she so happily gives in return.
